These people would not back down just because Song Jiu shouted a few words; they were merely spectators, eager to see what he could do. They wanted to find out how loud he could get and whether it would intimidate anyone. 0

Song Jiu was well aware of their thoughts. He cast a cold glance at the large man without a neck, who was also the type to shout loudly in a crowd but shy away from taking the lead. Despite his imposing physique, he was quite cowardly at heart. After a few seconds of eye contact, he looked away first. The onlookers from Militia felt disappointed; they had hoped he would stand up to Song Jiu and challenge him, but instead, he had deflated himself. 0

In his heart, Militia was calculating, while Song Jiu felt somewhat relieved. If that man had truly confronted him with over a hundred people, as long as he could contact Luo Yu, coordinating to disperse this group of Zombie should not be too difficult. 0

Aside from those sent to fetch weapons, the rest of the Militia had gathered as per Song Jiu's instructions and were heading towards Brick Wall. He exchanged a brief greeting with Chef Jia, asking her to first take care of the rescued individuals and the women left behind, and to call over A Hai and his companion. Without delay, he made his way to the assembly point, intending to see if those vehicles could be of any use. 0

Chef Jia did not ask further questions; she gave him a deep look before leading Pockmarked Girl away, completely entrusting the power of life and death in this camp to Song Jiu. 0

Outside the walls, the Zombie continued to surge. The commotion inside the camp only intensified their frenzy, making the walls appear increasingly precarious. Particularly on the side where there were no defensive structures, the ground at the base had become soft due to pressure. If the Zombie continued their assault unchecked, there was no guarantee that the structure wouldn't collapse. For safety's sake, Song Jiu ordered all guards from the side wall to withdraw. He planned to confront the enemy outside the city; there was no need for too many people to remain on guard at the walls. If someone had ill intentions and locked him out, it would be a significant loss. 0

The guards worked efficiently. By the time he arrived at the gate, barrels of gasoline and sacks containing shotguns and machetes were already in place. Song Jiu counted quickly; including the two shotguns they brought with them, there were a total of seventeen firearms ready for use. The ammunition seemed to have been supplied by the Zombie, which wasn't much but enough for a substantial kill if used all at once. 0

He retrieved his Steel Saw Blade from his weapon bag, strapped one onto his belt, and took two axes while discarding an unsuitable boning knife. The three-man teams of Militia followed suit, quietly arming themselves with extra weapons. Song Jiu pretended not to notice; as long as they fought hard later on, he wouldn't mind if they turned themselves into walking tanks. 0

A few tarps were pulled down, revealing construction vehicles underneath. This sight brought joy to Song Jiu. Since entering the camp that night, he had been curious about these machines and was pleasantly surprised to finally see them clearly. There were two dusty Cherokees and an Engineering Dump Truck. The faded yellow metal body was old and worn out, with thick tires caked in dried yellow mud; it could easily carry dozens of people in its empty bed. Comparing the height of the dump truck with that of the gate, he felt disappointed when he realized that it wouldn't fit through smoothly. He sent a guard up for inspection; fortunately, everything seemed normal with the vehicle—it started without any issues. 0

"Uh, does this vehicle need fuel?" asked Musclehead, who had recently been promoted by Chef Jia. Unsure how to address Song Jiu, he simply posed his question directly. 0

"Yes, it does. This weight can make two trips worth hundreds of javelins," replied Song Jiu, gritting his teeth as he pointed towards the wooden side wall inside Brick Wall. "We need to charge out from here." 0

"What?" 0

Several nearby teams from Militia overheard Song Jiu's audacious plan, causing an uproar among them. 0

"If we knock down the wall, won't all those Zombie come flooding in?" 0

"Exactly! That’s absolutely unacceptable!" 0

"We rely entirely on these walls for protection; you're digging your own grave!" 0

Song Jiu raised his arm and thrust the gun barrel directly into the mouth of the nearest Militia member, causing him to stagger back. 0

“Talk any more nonsense and I’ll blow your head off,” he said, his finger resting on the trigger. 0

The man was caught off guard by the sudden threat, his body drenched in cold sweat as the gun barrel pressed against his throat, making him feel nauseous. 0

“Drive the engineering vehicle full throttle, stop about two hundred meters out with twenty groups of people guarding the breach. Push them out but don’t retreat inside,” Song Jiu ignored the terrified expression of the unfortunate man and pointed towards the doorway. “Once the engineering vehicle starts, we’ll move out too. Both vehicles will draw the Zombies outside.” 0

“What if we can’t lure the Zombies out?” Militia A asked. 0

“Then use the knife in your hand to chop off their heads,” Song Jiu shot him a glare and shouted, “Three-man Squad, remember not to scatter. Those who charge out shouldn’t retreat; try to lure the Zombies away while blocking the gap inside. We can’t retreat even if it costs us our lives.” 0

“Then what are you going to do?” an oblivious Militia B couldn’t help but ask. 0

“I’ll charge with you. Anyone who dares to fall behind me…” Song Jiu coldly snorted as he pulled the gun barrel from the man’s mouth. “Don’t blame me for not giving you a way out.” 0

The Militia members nodded silently, each wearing expressions akin to those heading to execution, pushing and shoving to gather at both sides of the doorway. It’s true that sometimes crowds can be surprisingly obedient; gentle words often fall on deaf ears, while threats and curses have a powerful effect. Regardless of their inner thoughts, at least for now, they had abandoned any rebellious ideas and began contemplating how to distance themselves from this unfamiliar young man in order to preserve their own lives. 0

Offering a piece of candy after a slap, Song Jiu understood this principle well. Seeing that the Militia had finally shown some fighting spirit, he timely threw them a lifeline. 0

“Don’t worry too much; I’ve set up an ambush outside that will coordinate with your movements. Remember, no matter what, don’t retreat. As long as you don’t back down, everyone will survive.” 0

His words were firm and powerful, carrying an undeniable tone. A few younger men were already swept up in excitement, too caught up in their adrenaline rush to analyze how credible his claims were; they shouted enthusiastically, reminiscent of a kamikaze squad. 0

“What about us? What should we do?” Seventeen guards armed with ammunition gathered around, seemingly accepting Song Jiu’s leadership for now. One young man wearing glasses stepped forward. 0

“What’s your name?” Song Jiu found this Young Man quite agreeable; he hadn’t shouted along nor shrunk back but stood confidently despite not being particularly strong. Without his shotgun, he still carried an air of intellect. 0

“Liu Yan, from San Huo Yan,” replied the bespectacled Young Man. 0

"Here’s a gun for you as well." Song Jiu nodded and instructed, "Find someone with decent marksmanship. The eighteen of you need to take your positions the moment the construction vehicle breaks through the wall. Don’t hold back on ammunition; we must not let the zombies breach our defenses. Coordinate with the follow-up melee team on your timing. After a burst of fire, let them push forward while you find a high point to provide cover." 0

"Understood." Liu Yan adjusted his glasses and said, "Once we run out of bullets—" 0

"Switch to knives." 0

Watching as several groups took their positions, Song Jiu felt a bit more at ease. There was truth in the saying that strength lies in numbers. The gate and the wall they were preparing to breach were within the range of the Brick Wall, so the pressure from the militia defending from within was not too great. Even if they couldn’t seal off the broken wall immediately, at least the Brick Wall would serve as a barrier. If more than half of them couldn’t block those two gaps, then they might as well be dead. 0

Musclehead started the construction vehicle, which had twenty militia members armed with machetes in the back; Liu Yan stood behind the vehicle with seventeen sharpshooters, while sixty members of their squad nervously swallowed their saliva, ready to take their positions. Two Cherokee vehicles at the main gate were also rumbling softly, with twenty more militia following closely behind, their expressions solemn. 0

Song Jiu climbed up to the watchtower to assess the situation when he suddenly heard someone calling his name. Turning around, he saw A Hai, Xin Mengfan, Pockmarked Girl, and Xiaofei rushing over. 0

"What are you doing here? Go back," Song Jiu pointed at Xin Mengfan and her companions, urging them away. "It’s going to get chaotic soon; go stay with Sister Jia." 0

"Aren't you looking for a banner? We brought it." Xin Mengfan snapped her fingers, and A Hai and another person unfolded a large sheet that had “Luo Yu wait for Brother Jiu's signal” written in bright red paint. Upon closer inspection, one could see rough stitches across the fabric. 0

"We didn’t have enough material, so we hurriedly stitched this together for you." Xin Mengfan smiled and leaned closer to Song Jiu, asking softly, "Do you want me to take care of that guy for you?" 0
