Unfortunately, in a moment of desperation, Song Jiu forgot about the Zombie's resilience. Before he could rush through the prison door, he was grabbed by the collar and lifted off the ground. The towering black man delivered a textbook Black Tiger strike, turning Song Jiu into a boiled shrimp. Just moments ago, he had been as swift as a cheetah, but now he was more helpless than a pig rolling in the mud. 0

Song Jiu lay on the ground, gasping for breath, secretly astonished by the Zombie's true combat power. In three years, he had never encountered such an opponent; they were on completely different levels. As he heard the sound of heavy military boots scraping against the floor approaching, Song Jiu gritted his teeth and sat up. Just as he raised his gun, it was kicked out of his hand. It seemed that the darkness of the dungeon had no effect on them at all, and his plan to take advantage of the chaos was utterly shattered. 0

Unable to overpower them, he could only rely on his wits. 0

Song Jiu raised his hands in surrender and panted, "We can talk; let her go." 0

The response was a swift kick to his gut. 0

"Can't beat us? Then you think talking will help?" The black man spoke fluent Chinese with a hint of a northern accent, his size 44 foot pressing down on Song Jiu's stomach, nearly forcing out his last meal. 0

"Am I supposed to just give in?" Song Jiu couldn't struggle free and had to hold his breath, refusing to open the door unless Brother Jiu personally spoke. 0

Xin Mengfan felt somewhat helpless; she wasn't clear on the specifics of the Drug Workshop situation and didn't want to distract Song Jiu. She decided to investigate first and report back if there was something valuable. Originally intending to surprise Jiu Jiu, she never expected to encounter the Iron-faced Judge today. After some consideration, she called Jiao Ziqian aside and quietly explained the situation. 0

The two were equally loyal, and upon hearing that there might be a backup camp nearby, even the Iron-faced Judge seemed intrigued. He frowned in thought while Jiao Ziqian proposed an idea. 0

He suggested that he and Luo Yu lead their people to defend the entire camp while Liu Yan focused on constructing the outer defenses—essentially acting as a foreman. Therefore, Jiao Ziqian advised Xin Mengfan to find Liu Yan and take a few more people with her for safety. To be cautious, Jiao Ziqian also allocated two guns and ensured that Pika had enough fuel before reluctantly letting her go. 0

As a result, Fat Man's vision of traveling alongside Dream Fan shattered into pieces, and their little secret quickly spread. Liu Yan drove while Xin Mengfan and Pockmarked Girl sat in the back seat; Xiao Tian, A Hai's partner, occupied the passenger seat. In addition, Pika's truck bed held four people: Fat Man and three capable Militia members. 0

After hearing the whole story, Liu Yan praised Dream Fan's keen intuition and said directly, "If such a place exists, many of our current problems could be resolved easily. The camp used to regularly clear out Zombies; it's surprising we never discovered this workshop before—it shows how well-hidden it is." 0

"I'm just worried it won't be big enough; there are over a hundred people in our camp with plenty of scattered items," Dream Fan expressed her concern. 0

"Let's check it out first," Liu Yan replied thoughtfully. "I suspect that place might not just be a temporary processing workshop. Many deep mountain areas in Central Plains Region have air raid shelters; perhaps it was discovered by some drug dealers by accident." He spoke confidently while adjusting his glasses. "Whether it's natural barriers or man-made fortifications, they would definitely provide better defense than our camp. Log Walls can hinder Zombies for sure, but let's face it—a single fire could turn them to ashes. We don't have any pumps either, so there are significant safety risks." 0

"Didn't Brother Jiu dig a moat?" Pockmarked Girl interjected. 0

“It's used to block zombies, and if the river keeps flowing, it will affect the soil quality. It's not a long-term solution.” Liu Yan drove the vehicle out of the camp's forest area and switched to Fat Man. “Lead the way.” 0

“Sure, sure.” Fat Man nodded repeatedly, glancing back at the smiling Xin Mengfan, feeling a surge of frustration with nowhere to vent, he could only sigh continuously. 0

“Fatty, here's some advice: quit it, or you won't be able to stay in the camp.” Liu Yan said threateningly, causing Fat Man's face to flush with embarrassment. 0

Luo Yu took a moment to check on A Hai, who was coincidentally with Chef Jia. The two women had been busy for days; they exchanged smiles and sat down for a brief chat. 0

A Hai lay in bed, his head wrapped in thick gauze, still feeling weak. Chef Jia had specially made him chicken soup, but after just a couple of sips, he felt dizzy and nauseous again, so he could only sip a bit of millet porridge through a straw. The golden chicken soup ended up benefiting Luo Yu. 0

“How are you feeling?” Seeing A Hai reminded Luo Yu of the little girl. Noticing his weak state made her mood less cheerful. 0

“My head is spinning; maybe I slept too much.” A Hai forced a bitter smile on his pale face as he struggled to sit up but found his arms too weak. 0

“Don't move; I'll help you.” Chef Jia tucked two pillows behind him while she and Luo Yu supported him into a sitting position and opened the window for some fresh air. 0

“Sigh, I can't help at all like this; you all have to worry about me. It's really...” A Hai felt quite disheartened as he looked at his hands, unable to even clench his fists with any strength. 0

“Stop saying foolish things. The camp is running well now; just focus on recovering.” Luo Yu comforted him a bit before turning to Chef Jia. “Sister Jia, have you seen Brother Jiu?” 0

“Hm? Isn’t he outside? I've been here all day and haven't seen him.” Chef Jia tidied up the dishes and tucked A Hai's blanket tighter, smiling as she said, “Your Brother Jiu is always up to something; who knows what rare thing he's concocting this time.” 0

Luo Yu chuckled at that and nodded. “He always likes to come up with new ideas; after hanging around him for so long, my curiosity has worn off.” 0

“He's quite the closed book too.” Chef Jia agreed, pouring a cup of hot water and handing it to Luo Yu. “Since we’re just sitting here, let me ask you something.” 0

“Sure.” 0

"You and Brother Jiu are..." 0

"Ah, friends and comrades in arms." 0

"Say what you will." Chef Jia smirked, teasingly adding, "There are quite a few girls in the camp keeping an eye on you two, so make sure to guard your food." 0

"Sister Jia, don't tease me like that." Luo Yu laughed along, saying, "You might as well tell Dream Fan that." 0

"Oh?" Chef Jia blinked in surprise. 0

"Uh, actually I'm not too clear either. Our team has a relationship that's both simple and complex." Luo Yu shrugged and explained, "Dream Fan has been by Brother Jiu's side the longest. If there's anything going on, it's probably between those two, not anyone else." 0

"No wonder." Chef Jia understood and wanted to ask more but hesitated, fearing it might be too intrusive. She decided to drop the subject and began to pack her things to leave. "If there's nothing else, I'll head out now. I'll have Guli or Effie come keep A Hai company, and I'll personally deliver dinner later." 0

"Okay, thanks for your hard work, Sister Jia." Luo Yu glanced at his watch; it was about time for him to change shifts as well. He left the room alongside Chef Jia. 0

A Hai watched the two depart and could only let out a long sigh: "Hey, at least put me back down before you go." 0
