Effie was a girl whose emotions often outweighed her rationality. Seeing the scene before her made her feel a bit choked up, and just as she was about to tear up, she noticed Dream Fan had already sprung into action. The pity that had been in her eyes moments ago had vanished, and after glancing around, she said, "There's no way to run; let's climb the wall." 0

"Ah," Guli was taken aback. She looked up at the two people climbing down with their backs turned and stammered, "Isn't that like walking into a trap?" 0

"Better than being torn apart by a Zombie," Dream Fan replied, pressing her lips together. She glanced up just in time to see Cold Man jump down from a height of three meters. 0

"Effie, I'm here to save you! Don't be afraid!" Cold Man exclaimed enthusiastically as he tightly embraced the still-dazed Xiaofei. His masculinity surged as he added, "You all go first, hurry!" 0

As he spoke, the middle-parted Big Rush also made a dramatic entrance, flipping his hair stylishly and mimicking Cold Man's pose as he opened his arms toward Dream Fan. "That—" 0

"Dream Fan, get out of the way!" 0

Big Rush's opening line was interrupted by Loud Voice. Suddenly, a figure climbed up from the slope near Moat. Before anyone could react, a mud-covered dagger whirled through the air and struck Big Rush squarely in the chest. With a fawning expression still on his face, he leaned back against the city wall and slumped down awkwardly. 0

Dream Fan was quick-witted; upon hearing the commotion, she immediately realized what was happening. Since Cold Man had his back to her, she didn’t hesitate to deliver a swift kick to his groin. 0

"Ahhh!" Cold Man cried out in agony, clutching himself as he fell to the ground. 0

"Run!" Dream Fan shouted as she grabbed the two girls who were still stunned and sprinted toward Moat. 0

At that moment, the overloaded barricade collapsed with a thunderous crash, and the horde surged forth like water breaking through a dam. 0

"Effie!" Cold Man truly had guts; despite taking a fatal blow, he managed to stand up again. Bending over and holding himself, he prepared to chase after them but only took a couple of steps before seeing a Zombie break through the barricade. He quickly hit the brakes and scrambled back up onto the city wall. 0

The militia standing behind the battlements were dumbfounded, wishing they could applaud Cold Man for his bravery. As they watched Zombie after Zombie swarm in, Cold Man—despite being struck hard—steadfastly maintained his balance on the brick edge and climbed to safety just before the Zombies could overrun the grass below. 0

"Luo Yu!" Effie and Guli both gasped in shock upon recognizing the foul-smelling figure covered in slime before them. 0

"Don't talk; breathe in," Luo Yu said tersely, his face smeared with yellow-green filth and moss. He raised his shotgun and pulled the trigger at an approaching Zombie. 0

"Breathe in for what?" 0

Bang. 0

The muzzle flashed, and steel balls shot out, knocking half of the Zombie's body away at close range. Turning back, he saw the three women still standing at the edge of the stone steps, frozen in place. He shouted, "Jump!" 0

"I can't swim!" Guli stared at the dark green river water sloping down three to five meters below her, her mind racing with panic. 0

Luo Yu closed his mouth, swung the gun butt to crush a rotting Skull, then turned and kicked Dream Fan in the rear. Caught off guard, Dream Fan yelped and flailed her arms and legs for a moment before losing her balance and tumbling down the slope. In her haste to grab her, Effie and Guli also fell victim to the chaos, landing with a black footprint on their backsides as they tumbled down the slope, splashing into the foul-smelling stagnant water with a loud splash. 0

"Help!" 0

Guli struggled in terror, closing her eyes and flailing her limbs. As she thrashed about, her head sank below the Water Surface, and she gulped down a mouthful of nearly viscous river water. Her stomach churned violently as her toes touched the soft riverbed. She quickly sprang up from the surface, retching out a pool of yellowish-green filth. 0

"Hey!" The Pockmarked Girl paused for a moment and looked down; the water only reached her chest. 0

Dream Fan and Effie also managed to stabilize themselves, covered in a strange-smelling muck that clung to them like sludge, their once-proud long hair now reduced to muddy strands. 0

Bang. 0

Another gunshot rang out. Luo Yu was quick on his feet, reloading while dodging and clearing a patch of ground in front of him. He retreated while shouting, "Don't go to the middle! Run!" 0

Before Luo Yu could finish his sentence, Xiaofei suddenly screamed as she lost her balance again. Dream Fan reacted swiftly, grabbing her tangled hair and yanking her back. Effie ignored the pain in her scalp as she gasped for breath and warned them both, "The mud is really deep down there; stick to the sides!" 0

The three girls with zero combat ability hurriedly ran toward the riverbank's edge, struggling through the muck as they lifted their feet to move forward. They had to steady themselves while holding their breath to avoid suffocating from the stench. The river stretched long ahead; most of the Zombies that had crawled onto the grass were drawn away by Luo Yu and the Cold Man hanging on the city wall. The slope and foul odor provided excellent cover for the three women. While they were aware of their situation, Luci listened in but had no interest in participating; she had experienced too many troublesome matters like this before and was just trying to stay out of it. 0

" Jiu Jiu, Luo Yu has already gone out; it won't help if you go too. If you split up further, it will be even more troublesome," Chef Jia sighed as he took the Steel Saw Blade from his hand. "Dream Fan and the others are clever; they'll be fine." 0

"I understand." Song Jiu took a deep breath and quickly rushed outside to catch up with Luci. 0

"Road!" 0

"What's going on?" 0

Song Jiu pondered for a moment and said seriously, "I have an unreasonable request. We’ve run into some trouble. Can my people go to your place first? It won’t take long; I’ll take them away once they’re treated." 0

Luci blinked and replied, "Sure." 0

Seeing her agree so readily, Song Jiu was momentarily taken aback. 0

As if sensing his confusion, Luci smiled and said, "Didn’t you and Brother Ming already agree that you would leave after the treatment?" 0

"Yes, we did." 0

"Then that’s great! You can go wherever you want before the treatment is over." Luci smiled brightly, jumping into the driver's seat. "Aren't you coming?" 0

"No, I won't." Song Jiu shook his head and asked, "By the way, where is the wall your boss mentioned this morning?" 0
