In the laboratory, the co-pilot reported alone that Professor Tu was absent. The researchers had no say in security matters, and upon hearing about the Level One alert, they displayed expressions of disbelief. 0

"Speed it up," the co-pilot said, his voice trembling. Seeing his state only deepened the researchers' conviction about the danger facing the facility. Several team leaders discussed among themselves and hurriedly organized the recent breakthrough experimental materials, quickly gathering everything they needed. 0

"Where's Professor Tu?" Flat-Top Doctor asked anxiously after searching inside and out. "There are some things that require his personal allocation." 0

The co-pilot's expression changed, and he coughed lightly. "Brother Can took him away. Professor Tu's safety is paramount; we need to leave in batches." 0

Flat-Top Doctor was taken aback, glancing at a few colleagues. Besides surprise, there was disdain in his eyes. Here they were, often reprimanded for wasting time even on trivial matters, yet when it came to escaping for their lives, that old man was faster than anyone else. They didn't even care about the Antibody anymore because it was a serious matter. As far as the Antibody was concerned, not many knew about it; aside from the team heading to the Gobi Desert to deliver news, only a few involved in Yuan An's research were aware of the details. 0

Flat-Top Doctor shook his head with a cold smile and sighed, "Who would have thought? Always claiming to dedicate everything for science." 0

A few assistants chuckled quietly among themselves, deciding that once they escaped, they would leave Old Tu behind regarding the Antibody and report back to higher-ups about how he only cared for his own survival. 0

"Stop wasting time; let’s hurry," the co-pilot said, his face pale and anxiety gnawing at him. He wanted to shout at the assistants, telling them that the old professor truly was willing to sacrifice himself for science—not just in spirit but physically as well. However, he could only keep those thoughts to himself; after all, he didn’t want to die. Old professor, I’m sorry; don’t blame me—blame yourself for being too strong. Well, dying early means an early rebirth; at least I’m sending a beautiful assistant along with you so your journey won’t be lonely. That’s what he thought. 0

Minutes later, all laboratory personnel had gathered. Two research teams were fully assembled and squeezed into the parked Jinbei outside. The co-pilot rummaged through Professor Tu's drawer to find several other car keys and distributed them to a few doctors who could drive while moving all necessary equipment and materials. 0

Song Jiu and his two companions exchanged puzzled glances, not understanding why things had suddenly changed so drastically. They were sitting in the middle of the cabin and took up space; when several researchers came aboard without noticing them, they chattered away while pushing and shoving until they were shoved to the back of the vehicle. Seizing the moment amid the chaos, Song Jiu quickly reached out and snagged a key hanging from a female researcher’s waist without her noticing. 0

Before either of the two women could cast admiring glances at him, suddenly the rear compartment opened up, and the co-pilot yanked all three of them down roughly onto the ground before jumping back into the vehicle without looking back. 0

Song Jiu and his companions were unceremoniously discarded like trash from the vehicle and could only watch helplessly as men and women carrying folders rushed out of the building one after another and climbed into the cabin without acknowledging them. 0

Suddenly Luo Yu became agitated, pointing in a direction while making muffled sounds and straining her neck to signal her companions. Following her gaze, Song Jiu’s heart jolted as he spotted Yuan An. 0

Yuan An was dressed in a patient gown, her face pale and eyes dazed as if she had just awakened from a deep sleep. Two male doctors supported her on either side as they tried to shove her into a Jinbei vehicle. Yuan An struggled briefly but was forcefully pulled inside by a Field Duty driver who grabbed her by the neck before slamming the door shut with a thud. The cabin twisted as it drove toward the gate. 0

Song Jiu felt an immediate surge of panic; he stood up intending to chase after her. However, since all three of them were tied together in a line, their movements were somewhat restricted. Taking advantage of their momentary invisibility amidst chaos, Song Yao snatched a nail clipper and began cutting through their ropes bit by bit before tearing off their tape gag. "What’s going on?" he asked urgently. 0

"I’m not sure; we need to follow Yuan An," Song Jiu replied impulsively without considering that they were surrounded by enemies. Spotting a Jinbei that hadn’t yet departed, he dashed over and smashed his elbow through its window amidst startled screams from inside before reaching in to grab hold of the driver’s hair and violently slamming his head against the window frame. The driver inside was caught off guard by this sudden attack; just as he began reaching for his gun, Luo Yu had already opened the door and climbed inside with a stainless steel thermos from their toolbox raised high above her head ready to strike down hard. 0

The two worked in perfect harmony, one on the left and the other on the right. The driver was reduced to a bloodied mess, and Luo Yu seized the opportunity to grab a sidearm. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed several Field Duty personnel emerging from the vehicle behind Song Jiu. Without hesitation, he opened fire, providing Song Jiu with some much-needed time. 0

Song Yao yanked a man in a white coat from the back of the vehicle, pressing the sharp edge of a nail clipper against his throat. "Where are the two people you captured?" she demanded urgently. 0

The man panicked, caught off guard by the sudden attack from three unfamiliar faces. 0

Song Yao furrowed her brow, bringing the nail clipper closer to his eyelid and applying more pressure. The sharp blade broke the skin, causing the Male Doctor to wince in pain. "I don't know what you're talking about! Please don't kill me!" he pleaded. 0

"The girl in the hospital gown—where is she and the person who was taken with her?" 0

The Male Doctor desperately twisted his head to avoid the nail clipper pressed against his eye. As her question registered, he stammered, "I-I don't know! Professor Tu is in charge of them!" 0

"Where is Professor Tu?" 0

"He has already left." 0

Fury ignited within Song Yao as she grabbed the Male Doctor by his hair and slammed his head against the concrete floor, knocking him unconscious. 0

Meanwhile, Luo Yu was also interrogating someone. A woman mentioned having seen them in the laboratory. Luo Yu took her word for it and reported back to Song Jiu. She yanked out the car keys and ordered everyone inside to get out. Gunfire erupted outside the Gate as several vehicles that had fled earlier flashed their lights erratically along the dark Tree-Lined Path. Those abandoning their cars were thrown into chaos, and the once silent Industrial Park erupted like oil splashing into boiling water. 0

"Luo Yu, go after Yuan An," Song Jiu instructed as she tossed him the car keys and hurriedly ran toward the main building. 0

A hundred meters away on Tree-Lined Path, an SRT abandoned in the middle of the road caused significant disruption. Reinforcements arriving at the front gate were forced to stop, while vehicles fleeing from behind were compelled to brake abruptly. Several Field Duty personnel jumped out of their cars, attempting to push aside the obstructing vehicle. Before they could react, bright silver flashes cut through the darkness—sharp blades glinted menacingly as blood spilled. 0

Jin Bo flicked his wrist, sending droplets of blood flying from his blade before his opponents could return fire. He dashed into the Green Belt, using the cover of trees to escape their line of sight. On another side, Luci immediately opened fire, targeting exposed Field Duty personnel while Chef Jia and Pockmarked Girl took advantage of the chaos to tackle a panicked female staff member behind Tree-Lined Path, demanding information about graduate students and Yuan An's whereabouts. 0

"Retreat!" Luci shouted as a bullet struck him, creating a hole in his body armor. In pain, he lost focus and sprayed bullets wildly without suppressing their return fire. Seeing Field Duty personnel charging at them with fury, he quickly turned to signal Chef Jia and Pockmarked Girl to fall back. 0

The pinned-down female assistant was oblivious to what was happening; she merely screamed in panic and shook her head. When Pockmarked Girl realized they weren't getting any answers, she released her grip and prepared to flee. Suddenly, Chef Jia tackled her from behind just as a barrage of bullets rained down on them, tearing up the ground where Pockmarked Girl had just stood. The female assistant couldn't escape either; just a few steps away, she was caught in friendly fire and collapsed on the ground, bleeding from her mouth and nose. 0

"Why do I feel like these people are trying to run away?" Pockmarked Girl exclaimed in confusion. Just moments ago they had been launching a night raid; now it seemed as if roles had reversed—their enemies were fleeing while they were trying to intercept. 0

"It is a bit strange," Chef Jia admitted, bewildered as blood soaked through his shirt while remnants of human tissue clung to his Steel Saw Blade. Having not wielded weapons for some time, he felt somewhat flustered on this sudden front line; fortunately, Zombie—a double-edged sword—proved effective at that moment. 0

The four-person interception only caused brief chaos; after being pushed back by gunfire, Jinbei's team managed to clear away an SRT. Initially calling for scattered researchers to get into their vehicles, they soon found that those non-combatants were too rattled by the turmoil to heed commands; instead, they scattered like startled birds, making it impossible to catch anyone. 0

As they hesitated, two more Jinbei vehicles burst out from the Gate, the second one charging fiercely and recklessly ramming into the back of the first, pushing it aside. Luo Yu, driving, turned on the headlights just in time to see Chef Jia and a few others peeking out from behind the Green Belt. 0

Song Yao rolled down her window and pointed at the Jinbei that had just crashed into the SRT, shouting, "Qixi, stop them!" 0

Luci was momentarily stunned but quickly realized they had turned the tables. Without asking for an explanation, she called for Jin Bo and jumped into the SRT, starting the small car and speeding off. Luo Yu stopped to pick up Chef Jia and Pockmarked Girl, and both vehicles took off in a reckless pursuit. The four cars streamed out of the latter part of the Industrial Zone. As they approached the middle road of the Industrial Zone, Yuan An's vehicle suddenly swerved westward, crashing through a makeshift blockade at an intersection, its rear swinging as it disappeared around a corner. 0

The vehicle behind couldn't escape; Wu Wentao and Jiao Ziqian arrived just in time to force Commander’s group back. Fang Fei noticed that the SRT was sandwiched between two Jinbei vehicles and mistakenly thought it was trapped. Just as she was about to instruct Jiao Ziqian to fire for support, she saw Song Yao's face emerge from the rear Jinbei, pointing toward the street corner and shouting, "Catch up with that car ahead; Yuan An is in it!" 0

Fang Fei paused for a moment before turning her Cabin around. Jiao Ziqian quickly called for a stop, jumped out of the car leaving his gun with Ying Dou Dou, saying, "You chase them; I'm going to find Brother Jiu." 0

At this moment, the leading Jinbei had already escaped the range of its pursuers. Relying on their familiarity with the park's terrain, the passenger made sharp turns to evade the pursuing SRT. They sped past Cultural Square and came to a sudden halt. Two Field Duty officers jumped out of their vehicle, scanning their surroundings before pulling out keys and rushing toward a row of buildings with locked rolling shutters that Pockmarked Girl had previously shown curiosity about. 0

One by one, they pulled open the rolling shutters. The two Field Duty officers hurriedly retreated back to their vehicle when that small SRT reappeared not far down the street, adjusting its direction to pursue them again. The Field Duty officers grinned wickedly as they raised their weapons and pulled the triggers. 0

The SRT sped forward but came to an abrupt stop as they neared the square. From within those buildings where the rolling shutters had been raised, zombies staggered out in small groups. Under the stimulation of gunfire from Field Duty officers, they seemed to awaken from their slumber—one, two, five zombies emerged from indoors until more and more joined them. The familiar growls echoed once again; the wide road provided an excellent platform for the horde as they scattered in groups toward the retreating Jinbei and SRT. 0
