"Such a bold tone! You killed my disciple, and I will make you pay in blood," Ishii Ansei said, furious. Jiang Chen showed no regard for him, a master of the sword, and he could hardly tolerate such disrespect.
"Are you afraid you lack the ability?" Jiang Chen replied with a light laugh.
Ishii Ansei's facial muscles twitched in anger, leaving him speechless. He drew the katana from his waist, channeling all his fury into a single strike. The visible sword energy howled forth, slicing through the glacier on the ground and leaving deep ravines as it rushed toward Jiang Chen.
This sword energy was powerful enough to split boulders in half. Jiang Chen stood with his hands behind his back, calm in the face of the overwhelming sword energy. He took a deceptive step, transforming into an illusion as he swiftly dodged several meters to evade the strike.
"You have some skill," Ishii Ansei remarked coldly, seeing Jiang Chen effortlessly evade his attack.
"Your swordsmanship is disappointing," Jiang Chen replied indifferently.
"Hmph! Just now, I didn't even use one-tenth of my strength. If I were to unleash my full power, do you think you could still stand here unharmed?" Ishii Ansei sneered.
"Then go all out. If your swordsmanship impresses me, I might spare your life; if not, you won't need to exist anymore," Jiang Chen said calmly.
Seeing Jiang Chen's fearless demeanor, a hint of seriousness flashed in Ishii Ansei's eyes. To remain composed under his pressure and to speak so casually was impressive; moreover, Jiang Chen's earlier evasive move had been fluid and graceful, indicating that he was not to be underestimated.
"I have heard that Huaxia Martial Arts is filled with hidden talents. I haven't set foot in Huaxia for over twenty years and wonder what its martial arts are truly like. Today, I will experience it firsthand here in Island Nation. Young man, do you know swordsmanship?" Ishii Ansei asked.
"Of course," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"Then let us have a duel. Don't say I am bullying you; we will use the same sword," Ishii Ansei said as he took two katanas from two ninjas and tossed one to Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen did not catch the katana but smiled and said, "No need for that; I have my own sword. You can use yours."
"What sword do you have? Where is it?" Ishii Ansei scrutinized Jiang Chen but saw no sword on him.
"You'll find out shortly," Jiang Chen smiled.
"Alright, you said it. This katana is called Godslayer; it has been with me for decades, and over a hundred masters of swordsmanship have perished beneath its edge. Today, there will be one more added to that count," Ishii Ansei declared proudly.
Jiang Chen smirked slightly, unimpressed by his words.
"I hope you'll still be able to laugh afterward. This place isn't suitable for our duel; follow me," Ishii Ansei said solemnly before stepping forward toward an open area on the hillside.
Jiang Chen smiled and followed closely behind.
The two faced off on a vast open space on the hillside, standing a hundred meters apart. Tourists quickly gathered around the edge of the clearing to watch the battle unfold.
One was a long-established master of Island Swordsmanship; the other was a rising star from Huaxia. Most people present did not recognize Jiang Chen at all and were stunned to see a young man challenging Ishii Ansei head-on, leaving them speechless in shock.
"Who is this young man? I've never seen him before," they wondered aloud while looking at Tengye Kikuko, who also shook her head—she knew nothing about Jiang Chen either.
