Master Xiao not wearing the Robe was fine, but once he put it on, it gave off a strong aura of a charlatan. Coupled with his swaggering walk, he resembled someone trying to perform tricks. However, this situation didn’t last long; as soon as we reached outside the warehouse, he immediately squatted down and slowly made his way toward the warehouse door. I couldn't help but chuckle at the stark contrast in his behavior. Was he sent by monkeys to entertain us? 0

I followed Master Xiao into the warehouse. On the way, I intentionally glanced through a window inside. Due to a power outage in the factory area, there was no moonlight streaming into the warehouse, making it dark and hard to see what was inside. I wondered if the other three Spirit Gods had come out or not, but didn’t dwell on it too much as I quickly bent down and stepped through the warehouse door into the corridor. 0

Master Xiao was already squatting outside the True Hair Room, leaning against the wall and dramatically gasping for breath, as if he were a police officer about to charge in and take down a group of terrorists. I walked over to him, scoffed disdainfully, and then turned off the dim flashlight. From my Cloth Bag, I took out a red candle and some matches. With a swift strike, I lit one of the red candles, and the previously dark corridor was suddenly enveloped in a warm yellow glow. 0

Master Xiao continued to lean against the wall, breathing heavily. This guy really loved to perform. I punched him lightly in the chest and pointed at the items on the ground, signaling him to stop pretending and come help. 0

Seeing that my indifference had thwarted his act, he dropped the charade and quietly walked over. He grabbed a handful of red candles and began arranging them at the entrance in the shape of the Big Dipper Seven Stars. Then he took another red candle and lit all of them, instantly brightening up the corridor. I placed offerings in their respective positions and sprinkled some Grave Soil at the Jade Balance Star position. The Jade Balance Star is also known as the Five Yellow Star; ancient texts refer to it as the Killing Star and Prison Star—it's one of the most violent star positions. Using Grave Soil’s deathly aura to suppress this star position would make our Red Candle Big Dipper Formation even more confusing. After placing corresponding items at several other star positions, a simple red candle Dipper altar was ready. I nodded at Master Xiao. 0

He took out a small bamboo tube and inserted his Peach Wood Sword into it. Then he formed a single-finger sword gesture and continuously drew symbols in the air around an inch from the bamboo tube before pulling out his Peach Wood Sword, which had stained a section with blood—whether it was chicken blood or Black Dog Blood was unclear. He stuck a talisman onto the red candle at the Heavenly Pivot Position and ignited it. The Heavenly Pivot Position is associated with Greedy Wolf Star—the most lethal star position. Burning a talisman here would not only activate our entire Red Candle Big Dipper Formation but also enhance the Yang Qi and killing intent of his Peach Wood Sword. 0

I took out a seven-foot Ink Fight Line and grabbed some Cinnabar in my palm, placing one end of the Ink Fight Line in my hand while tightly clenching my fist. I pulled out the head of the Ink Fight Line until it was fully extended, coating it with Cinnabar. After rolling up the line and holding it tightly in my hand, I performed several Hand Seals on it before checking what else was in my Cloth Bag. 0

We finished preparing our items around the same time and exchanged nods. I pulled out my keys, gently unlocked the padlock, removed it, then unlatched the door. I nodded at Master Xiao, indicating that we could go in. 0

He would definitely lead since he was stronger than me when it came to dealing with ghosts; it wasn't just me calculating him—he had his pride too. If I didn’t let him go first now, his self-esteem would surely be hurt. 0

However, what surprised me was that he didn’t follow conventional logic; instead of slowly pushing open the door to enter, he kicked it open with force while brandishing his Peach Wood Sword and charged inside. The previously silent space was shattered by his reckless kick against the door, startling me with its sudden loud noise. But what followed made me chuckle; due to Master Xiao's excessive force—and perhaps not knowing what lay beyond—the door rebounded quickly after being kicked open and slammed right back into him as he rushed forward. I laughed heartily and said, “Karma! Ha ha!” Master Xiao’s expression darkened as he pushed open the door again and stormed inside, clearly furious. 0

The door behind him lacked magnetic resistance; thus it wobbled slightly when opened. However, to utilize our light source effectively, we needed to keep it open. I pushed it against the wall and casually grabbed something nearby to prop it open before drawing a talisman on it to prevent any Spirit Gods from closing it; otherwise we would be left without any light source. Although dim light is preferable for certain situations, complete darkness is unacceptable. 0

Once I secured the door, I stepped inside as well. The small storage room had no lights to begin with, and hair hung everywhere making it even darker; there were so many strands on the ceiling that some even brushed against my forehead. While this scene felt somewhat eerie, I didn’t pay much attention because there was something more pressing: Master Xiao wasn’t swinging his Peach Wood Sword around fighting ghosts like I imagined; instead he stood three meters in front of me facing me with legs apart and arms raised—completely still. If not for his flushed face indicating that he was being attacked by ghosts, I would have mistaken him for practicing martial arts. 0

I instantly understood what was happening; since it wasn’t yet midnight and Yin Qi wasn’t strong enough, those three Vengeful Spirits hadn’t manifested yet. However, even without appearing physically, they still possessed an ability to attack—though not as fierce as when they were visible—it shouldn’t be underestimated either. Master Xiao’s condition clearly indicated that much. 0

Seeing Master Xiao's face turn red and unable to speak after being pounced on, I hurried over and threw a handful of pure Cinnabar forward. Then I took out three copper coins, threaded one end of the Ink Fight Line through the coins, and quickly tied a live knot before flinging the coins away. 0

The copper coins were meant to ward off evil spirits and serve as a weight for the binding point. I aimed for Master Xiao's side waist when I threw them, then pulled back on the other side, just like in a TV show where a stone tied to a rope is swung around a tree trunk, allowing the stone to spin several times and secure itself. My Ink Fight Line combined with the copper coins aimed to achieve the same effect. Of course, my Ink Fight Line was only seven feet long, and there was some distance between us, so it wouldn't wrap around multiple times, but one complete loop should suffice. As long as it made one full circle, it could temporarily push away the Vengeful Spirit that was attacking Master Xiao. If their Resentment wasn't too high, it might even force them out. 0

Without a doubt, I successfully pushed away the Vengeful Spirit that had been on Master Xiao. Unfortunately, I couldn't drive them out completely. So now, even though we knew they were in the room, we had no idea where they were located, and the dim light inside made it impossible to use a compass to find them. 0

At that moment, Master Xiao recited a spell and shouted: "Hey!" The power behind that shout was astonishing. I didn't know if the Spirit God had been affected by his incantation, but at least I was startled. It was truly a life-or-death situation for me. However, I didn't have time to dwell on that; his spell was directed solely at himself. I quickly formed Hand Seals and smeared some cow tears over my eyes before chanting a soul-seeing spell. The final word "Command" echoed loudly, at least at the highest volume I could muster. My intention was simply to scare Master Xiao a bit, but he remained unfazed—clearly too thick-skinned for such tactics. Ultimately, I had to admit he had the upper hand in volume. At this point, we could both see three Vengeful Spirits clearly; this made things much easier. 0

One Vengeful Spirit was behind Master Xiao, another was on my left side, and there was one more that I couldn't see—likely behind me. Facing me, Master Xiao made a "yeah" gesture with his hand, indicating that there were two near me. I responded with a middle finger gesture to inform him about the Spirit God nearby while also conveying that this was an internationally recognized sign of disdain. 0

Just as I finished making that gesture, I felt the Spirit God behind me lunging forward. A strong sense of oppression accompanied by intense Resentment pressed down on me, making it feel as if I were carrying a hundred pounds on my back. This sensation came even after applying protective talismans and soul-pressing charms; without them, I would have likely collapsed immediately without any ability to resist. This kind of Resentment must have taken ages to cultivate. Just as I intended to use my left hand to swing out the Ink Fight Line tied with three copper coins to entangle myself, I suddenly felt something soft collide with me from behind; it rendered my left hand powerless as if it had been numbed by anesthesia—an experience even worse than Sleep Paralysis. Fortunately, my right hand still had some mobility. Without hesitation, I pulled out a Lightning Talisman and quickly recited a Thunder Summoning Spell. Just as I was about to finish chanting, I raised my right hand and aimed it at the head of the Spirit God holding onto my left arm. Unfortunately, halfway through my swing, the Spirit God behind me blocked my right hand with its own, causing me to inadvertently strike myself on the head instead of hitting the Spirit God controlling my left arm. The pain radiating from my head filled me with frustration and helplessness. 0
