The incantation began, a series of spells resonating like sacred chants in the air. To all the spirits surrounding us, it sounded like a haunting melody, drawing them closer to our side. I shouted towards the cave entrance, "Soul Summoning Spell!" 0

As the spell echoed through the air, a deep, resonant snort emerged from within the cave. Following that, a powerful gust of cold wind burst forth like thunder. It made the Tin Foil on the Soul Banner flutter wildly. 0

I knew that the Senior Master's Soul had been summoned. Just as I was preparing to retreat, an immense pulling force emanated from the cave entrance, as if invisible hands were grasping me and pulling me inside. I quickly discarded the Soul Banner and braced myself against the stones on either side of the entrance, straining against the relentless pull. Although the cave did not descend straight down, its steep angle was enough to make me lose my balance and tumble in. 0

Just when I felt I could no longer hold on, the sound of the Soul Summoning Spell around me suddenly intensified, and my control weakened immediately. Seizing the opportunity, I pushed with all my strength and kicked off with my legs, propelling myself away from the cave entrance. 0

Gradually, a shadowy figure began to materialize at the cave's mouth, surrounded by swirling cold winds. The surrounding weeds swayed violently in response to the gusts, and some paper flowers on the Soul Banner were blown away. The stacked Soul-Trapping Formations nearby also began to tremble slightly, while the burning Incense flickered. 0

Sitting on the ground, I stared blankly at the Senior Master's Soul hovering at the cave entrance. Its face had turned completely black; even its whites of its eyes were gone. Its hair seemed to have grown significantly since yesterday; what was once grayish-white now appeared even whiter. The howling wind tousled its hair and clothes in chaotic patterns, resembling something out of a supernatural drama. 0

My master bellowed, "Change spell!" 0

The previously uninterrupted Call of Souls abruptly ceased, followed by a powerful chant of the Soul Binding Spell echoing from all directions. Only my master continued softly reciting the Soul Summoning Spell. 0

With the Senior Master's Soul trapped within several overlapping Soul-Trapping Formations and with the activation of the Soul Binding Spell, it suddenly calmed down. All previously fluttering objects came to an abrupt halt. The moment had arrived; I no longer needed to manage this Senior Master’s situation. I quickly stood up and ran towards my master's direction. 0

Once the Soul Binding Spell was completed, that Senior Master was effectively restrained. My master then unexpectedly added a loud command within the Soul Summoning Spell: "Change spell for transcendence!" After shouting this, he resumed reciting the Soul Summoning Spell with even greater fervor, causing his small Soul Banner to sway faster. 0

The four masters began chanting the Transcending the Souls spell in unison—clear words spoken with serious and profound voices—as if they had rehearsed it beforehand. 0

Upon reaching my master's position, I noticed six or seven wandering souls gathering around him. Upon hearing the powerful Transcendence Spell, those wandering souls began to tremble uncontrollably. Once they heard the Senior Master’s name being called out loud, they resumed their movements and slowly approached my master. 0

Here, I will explain the directional nature of the Transcendence Spell. After reciting the incantation, it is necessary to call out a name, much like taking attendance; whoever is called belongs to that name. Other Spirit Gods may hear it, but they will not be affected. Burning Joss Paper follows the same principle; first, there must be a title to indicate that this money is being burned for you. Once that title is established, other wandering souls cannot claim the Joss Paper. 0

A group of Wandering Souls slowly gathered around, reminding me of funeral scenes from Western films. They approached with expressionless faces, and aside from lacking the terrifying makeup often seen in horror films, their demeanor and movements were surprisingly similar. Each Wandering Soul was unique; some appeared as semi-transparent Souls. Those who opened their eyes still saw themselves in this state as Wandering Souls, which could only mean one thing: they were too fragile. The energy of these Wandering Souls was too low to pose any threat to humans. 0

Originally, this place would not have Wandering Souls passing through. Wandering Souls choose their paths based on their sensitivity to the concentration of Yin Qi. They typically traverse shaded areas and would never venture to the eastern side of a mountain. The only reason they would head in this direction is that the Senior Master's Soul influenced the Yin Qi concentration in this area, leading the Wandering Souls to mistakenly believe this was a shaded side and redirecting their path here. 0

As long as these Wandering Souls are not swayed or controlled by that Senior Master, being drawn in by the Soul Banner and Soul Summoning Spell will not pose any danger to my master; at most, they will just linger around him. However, if they fall under the Senior Master's influence, they could become aggressive. 0

I stayed close to my master to prevent them from suddenly being swayed by the Senior Master and attacking those using the Soul Banner and Soul Guiding techniques. For now, it seemed they were behaving normally and had no intention of attacking. 0

I let out a slight sigh of relief and turned my gaze toward the direction of the Senior Master's lingering spirit. 0

Under the chanting of my masters performing the ritual, the Senior Master's state grew increasingly calm. What had once been frantic movements gradually subsided; his hands lowered, and his head bowed slowly until all I could see was the top of his head, as if he were peacefully sleeping at the cave's entrance. 0

The chanting continued, and those few Wandering Souls still hovered around my master and me. After counting carefully, I confirmed there were indeed only eight. I felt relieved, thinking that perhaps this matter would come to a close. 0

Just as we reached about halfway through the ritual time, I suddenly heard my master exclaim that something was wrong. I turned to look at the cave entrance; although the Senior Master's Soul remained floating outside with his hands still lowered and head bowed without any movement, there was some commotion coming from below. 0

In the dim moonlight, I saw shadows slithering out from within the cave. I switched on my flashlight for a better look—what a sight! It was a series of snakes. 0

There was no doubt that these snakes had crawled out from inside the coffin within the cave. Hadn't Master Pan said that these snakes wouldn't easily leave their coffin? So why were they emerging now? But then I realized that since the Senior Master's Soul had been in the cave all day, it was necessary for him to draw out the snakes from their coffin; who would want to see so many snakes coiled around their Corpse? 0

About ten snakes hurriedly slithered out of the cave entrance. These snakes were not bound by any formation; they emerged freely without any obstruction from within. 0

However, a snake is just a snake, and I recognized this particular one; we called it the Grass Carp Snake back home. It is not venomous and has a gentle temperament, so it wouldn't actively attack humans. Still, when my master uttered a warning, I felt a sudden wave of tension wash over me. I wasn't sure what he meant by "not good." 0

In an instant, I understood the meaning behind his warning. The few Wandering Souls that had been lingering around us suddenly spotted the snakes, their eyes lighting up like hungry wolves spotting prey. They completely disregarded my master's Soul Summoning Spell and lunged toward the snakes. Confused and unsure of what was happening, I heard my master urgently shout, "Quick! Stop them! Don't let them get near the snakes!" 0

After my master spoke, the small Soul Banner was casually tossed aside as he pulled out the Great Seal from his bag. He took two large strides forward and blocked the path of the four Wandering Souls. Without pausing, he began to strike the chests of those souls with the Great Seal. The four spirits that were hit immediately collapsed to the ground, convulsing. 0

Seeing that my master had already thrown away his Soul Banner, I quickly rushed to stand behind him and blocked two more Wandering Souls that were speeding toward the snakes. Gripping a handful of incense ash mixed with Cinnabar, I wasted no time in throwing it at two of them. Then, I formed a Soul Binding Talisman and slammed it onto one of the Wandering Souls' heads. Upon impact, that soul shuddered and began to slowly fall to the ground. Unlike the others, it didn't convulse but instead crawled toward one of the snakes like an injured person. 0

Having restrained one, I took out a length of Ink Fight Line. With both hands, I pulled it tight around another Wandering Soul's neck and yanked it back forcefully, pulling it away from its forward motion. I quickly tied a knot in the Ink Fight Line as I watched it clutch its throat in pain and roll on the ground. Not bothering with it any longer, I looked up to see two Wandering Souls dangerously close to the snakes. 0

ps. The six o'clock deadline is approaching; there will be another update later. 0
