My Tenant is a Female Ghost
With just one furious roar, Bai Zhuo caused the Guide Lantern Boy to disintegrate into ashes, leaving Tang Bao staring at him in disbelief and startling thousands of wandering spirits.
"What's with the shouting? You scared me half to death, you idiot." Only those ordinary people who were unaware of the situation glanced at Bai Zhuo and began to curse him.
What they failed to notice was the miraculous event—after Bai Zhuo's shout, all those ghosts transformed into white mist and left the area! The invisible barrier at the crossroads vanished without a trace!
"Living souls are unafraid, evil spirits cannot invade, let a hundred ghosts make way! Besides the monk reincarnated from the Nine Reincarnations of the Benevolent Buddha, how could there be anyone else? No, even that monk couldn't possibly command a hundred ghosts to make way like this. What on earth is going on?" Tang Bao exclaimed in astonishment.
Bai Zhuo noted these words in his heart, growing increasingly curious about An Zhi Xi's identity while also feeling a stronger confusion about his own background. He feigned calmness and asked, "Is your master Hengyuan Monk?"
"You know him? Oh right, Elder Ge and Master Yongdu are friends, so you would naturally know him."
Bai Zhuo nodded and murmured to himself, "So this monk is a benevolent person across nine lifetimes; no wonder even Su Meiniang fears him..."
Tang Bao was filled with curiosity and asked, "Friend, who exactly are you?"
"Me?" Bai Zhuo chuckled lightly. "Oh, I am just me—the only heir of the Bai Family, disciple of Elder Ge, Bai Zhuo."
This information was already included in Tang Bao's investigation. He wasn't entirely satisfied with Bai Zhuo's answer; however, due to his humble and reserved nature, he didn't press further—at least not outwardly. "Hehe, it seems your senior brother Zheng Ming has met his match... he underestimated you."
"I want to ask about Zheng Ming and my master..."
Before Bai Zhuo could finish his question, Tang Bao interrupted him. "I was hoping to gain something here, but now they've all run off... brothers, let's retreat!" He waved his hand and led the sunglasses-wearing Yin Yang masters into a Hummer before driving away.
"Hummer! Damn! How come every family except Elder Ge's is so wealthy?"
Back in the car, Yang Liu asked with concern, "How serious is it?"
"It's quite serious, but it's fine now. I called an ambulance at 119. Let's take a detour and leave the rest behind," said Bai Zhuo.
Yang Liu nodded, "Okay, I'll follow your lead."
The three of them carried the bodies of the Miaojiang Sisters and made their way to Bai Zhuo's home. Along the way, a few wandering spirits followed Yang Liu, but Bai Zhuo easily dealt with them.
"Wow! Bai Zhuo, I didn't expect your house to be a traditional Siheyuan! It's so big! I really like it here!" Yang Liu closed her eyes, savoring the fragrant air, lost in delight.
Bai Zhuo carried the Miaojiang sisters, their blood-stained blankets looking particularly horrifying. He joked, "If you like it here, you can move in! There are plenty of empty rooms, but I will charge rent!"
To his surprise, Yang Liu happily replied, "Really? That would be great! My place is such a mess right now, and I'm living alone. Plus, my talisman is broken. It would be much more reassuring to live with you!"
Bai Zhuo was taken aback, secretly cursing himself for speaking too soon. Now he had a Su Meiniang at home; if she really moved in, he wondered if it would scare her. He changed the subject and asked, "Yang Liu, aren't you afraid of these bodies? You look completely calm; you have some courage."
Yang Liu shook her head. "Not at all! When I'm home alone, I love watching horror movies—anything like Saw or Resident Evil."
"Uh..." Bai Zhuo was speechless. He hadn't expected the seemingly shy and gentle Yang Liu to have such a taste for the macabre.
Suddenly, there was a commotion in the courtyard. A woman emerged from a side room, naked and covering her vital parts in panic. Yang Liu and Miao Xiaoqi both screamed in surprise.
"Oh... I almost forgot about you," Bai Zhuo sighed as he covered his forehead. He didn't want Yang Liu to think he was a pervert and hurriedly explained, "Her name is Li Yue; she's a streetwalker... um, she was possessed by a ghost. I brought her here to save her..."
Upon hearing female voices, Li Yue rushed over but froze when she saw the bloodied blanket in Bai Zhuo's hands, which revealed a woman's hands that were mangled and bloody. Terrified, she fell to her knees in front of Bai Zhuo and cried out, "Big brother... you won't kill me, will you? My parents are waiting for me to support them; school is starting soon, and my brother's tuition is waiting for me to pay... Please spare me! I'll do anything you want... oral? A whip? Or 69? I'll cooperate with you; just please don't kill me..."
Miao Xiaoqi was somewhat innocent and didn't understand Li Yue's words. However, she trusted Bai Zhuo—Qing had already recognized him as her master; Brother Bai must be a good person. This girl must have misunderstood something.
Yang Liu took off her coat from the car and draped it over Li Yue while casting an odd glance at Bai Zhuo.
Bai Zhuo spread his hands, indicating his innocence, as he helped the incoherent Li Yue to her feet. "Li Yue, I swear, I won't harm you. Why don't you believe me? Look at that Yin Mole on your arm; has it disappeared?"
Upon hearing this, Li Yue raised her hand to check her arm, and indeed, the mole was gone! Moreover, she felt much more energetic and suddenly became clear-headed. Without hesitation, she bowed deeply to Bai Zhuo. "M-Master, thank you! I feel so much better now, but... it still hurts a bit down there."
This time, even Miao Xiaoqi blushed and shot Bai Zhuo a strange look.
Come on, could you not create misunderstandings in front of two beautiful women? You just gave birth to such a large Ghost Fetus; it’s no wonder it hurts!
"Ahem, you're fine now. Just go home and recuperate. Your clothes are on that table; you can leave now."
Li Yue got up, put her clothes back on, and returned her jacket to Yang Liu with a thank you. As she was leaving, she turned to Bai Zhuo and said, "M-Master, really thank you! If in the future... if I have any physiological needs, you can find me on Silver Horse Street!"
"Hey, hey, hey... just go already!" Bai Zhuo exclaimed loudly.
Li Yue finally realized what she had said. Looking at Miao Xiaoqi and Yang Liu, she noticed that both girls were just as beautiful as herself and felt embarrassed. "Ah, I'm sorry! I misspoke." Then she ran off amidst Bai Zhuo's curses.
With Li Yue gone, a matter was settled, but the hidden issue of the "Ghost Fetus" remained.
"Yo! Young man, how come you're still alive?" The figure of Su Meiniang appeared behind Bai Zhuo, startling him. Miao Xiaoqi couldn't see Su Meiniang but could sense the terrifying Yin Qi filling the air; her face turned pale as every hair on her body stood on end.
Bai Zhuo replied irritably, "Do you really want me dead?"
Su Meiniang looked as alluring as ever in her red bellyband and loose pants, exposing large swathes of soft skin. She stretched lazily and spoke in a sultry tone that stirred the imagination. "Of course! If you die, this house will be mine! I just didn't expect that after watching 'Yin Soldiers Borrowing the Path,' you would still be alive. You really are lucky."
Bai Zhuo rolled his eyes in exasperation and ignored her.
Yang Liu was quite strange; she wasn't afraid of bloody corpses but was terrified of invisible ghosts. She shivered and stammered, "B-Bai Zhuo, who are you talking to? D-Don't scare me!"
"Oh, it's nothing. She's one of my tenants from 'My Tenant is a Female Ghost,' a female ghost."
Yang Liu gasped and stepped back several paces. "Huh? A-a-a female ghost?"
"Oh my! Young man, isn't this the 'Nine Profound Yin Body'? Where did you get her?" Su Meiniang's eyes lit up like a lovesick fool upon seeing Yang Liu, drool unconsciously dripping from her mouth. She couldn't help but rush forward to embrace Yang Liu, licking her face wildly. The scene was so "beautiful" that it was almost unbearable to look at.
Yang Liu wore an innocent expression, feeling cold sweat pouring down his face, no matter how much he wiped, it just wouldn't stop... Bai Zhuo was somewhat surprised; the half talisman on Yang Liu's body could fend off the Taotie Ghost for quite a while, yet it couldn't block Su Meiniang even a little.
The sight before Bai Zhuo was unimaginable in its beauty, and he felt reluctant to stop Su Meiniang. However, he couldn't let his own "selfish desires" harm Yang Liu. He quickly intervened, saying, "Hey! Su Meiniang, what you're doing will harm her soul and shorten her lifespan. Stop it... just stop!"
Su Meiniang looked entranced as she licked Yang Liu's cheeks, mumbling incoherently, "Don't worry, don't worry. Do you think I'm some kind of wandering spirit? I know my limits!"
Yang Liu's cold sweat continued to flow as he cast a pleading glance at Bai Zhuo. Bai Zhuo steeled himself and said, "Su Meiniang, if you keep acting recklessly, I'll call that monk to deal with you! That monk is the reincarnation of the Nine Reincarnations of the Benevolent Buddha!"
Su Meiniang suddenly halted her actions, turning her back to Bai Zhuo so he couldn't see her expression. Slowly, she turned back around, an eerie glow flashing in her eyes. For a moment, Bai Zhuo felt as if his heart might stop.
She coldly replied, "What if he's a benevolent person from nine lives? What if he's the Buddha reincarnated? It's just a nuisance! Don't think that I would fear that stinky monk! You dare threaten me as an Onmyoji? If it weren't for the feng shui of this Siheyuan, I would have wiped you out long ago! Hmph..."
With a cold snort, Su Meiniang returned to her room. Bai Zhuo was drenched in sweat; after she left, he finally breathed a sigh of relief. Despite Su Meiniang's usual delicate demeanor, when she got angry, she was truly terrifying.
Yang Liu noticed Bai Zhuo's haggard expression and asked with concern, "Are you okay?"
Bai Zhuo shook his head. "I'm fine. Let's bury Qi's sisters now; coincidentally, there's a peach tree in my yard."
"Huh? Are we burying them in your house? Is that really okay?" Miao Xiaoqi asked in surprise.
"Yeah, no problem. Just wait for me a moment."
Bai Zhuo entered the room and called upon the adorable Tree Spirit—Peach Loli. White Peach rushed over to him, just like a little sister, her face beaming with joy. Bai Zhuo smiled as he patted her head, saying, "White Peach, could you do me a favor?"
While enjoying Brother Bai's affection, White Peach displayed a serious expression. "Sure! As long as it's Brother Bai's request, I would agree to anything—even ten things!"
"I have a few... a few friends who have passed away. They loved peach blossoms, and I would like to bury them next to you. Is that alright?"
White Peach nodded vigorously. "Of course! No problem! White Peach will definitely take good care of them!"
Bai Zhuo patted White Peach's head once more and thanked her with a smile.
...
After Miao Xiaoqi's sisters were laid to rest beside An Zhi, Miao Xiaoqi knelt before the mound of earth, crying uncontrollably. The willow tree was affected by Miao Xiaoqi's sorrow, its eyes reddening as it silently shed tears.
Bai Zhuo lit three incense sticks, bowed three times, and placed them at the foot of the mound.
"Taiyi Jiu Ku Zun, incredible merit, repay the fourfold grace, relieve the suffering of the three paths, let the souls escape from their plight... may they be reborn as they wish."
He whispered the incantation softly and bowed three more times. He noticed several Horse-Face and Yin Chai taking away the Ghosts of the Miaojiang Sisters and murmured under his breath, "Safe travels."
Once Bai Zhuo arranged for Yang Liu and Miao Xiaoqi's accommodations, he finally picked up his phone to check the time—it was already four-thirty in the morning! "Oh no! The competition is about to end! Yang Liu, Qi, you two get some rest first. Yang Liu, I need to borrow your car."
"Okay," Miao Xiaoqi replied obediently. Yang Liu didn't ask any further questions and tossed the car keys to Bai Zhuo. "Just be careful on the road."
Bai Zhuo drove a bit slowly; fortunately, it was an automatic transmission and there were fewer cars on the road at night. Since Jingxiu Villa was nearby, he managed to arrive back at the villa by four-fifty in the morning, letting out a sigh of relief.
At the gathering point for the competition, compared to when it first started, there were very few people returning—only about forty or fifty remained. Among the crowd, Bai Zhuo quickly spotted Zheng Ming, Zhu Cong, Tang Bao, Kagura Keiha, and two conspicuous foreigners carrying crosses. The rest looked battered and bruised; some were missing limbs while others had dirt-streaked faces. It was clear that everyone had endured a grueling battle that night.
"Eh? Why can't I see the monk? He hasn't died, has he?"
"Amitabha, Benefactor Bai, please hold your tongue and show some restraint. The monk still wishes to live a few more years." The monk Hengyuan had quietly appeared behind Bai Zhuo without anyone noticing.
"Oh—damn, monk, you scared me to death." Bai Zhuo patted his chest and cursed.
"If one does not commit wrongful deeds, there is no fear of ghosts knocking at the door. Benefactor Bai's heart is still not steady enough. Come to my temple and take vows to become a Buddha..."
"Stop right there... You Buddhists don't associate with women. I'm still a virgin and don't want to be one for life. Being a Yin-Yang Master is much better—free and making money. Keep your distance from me!"
"Form is emptiness, emptiness is form..." The monk hadn't finished his chant when Bai Zhuo pushed him away with a slap.
Goodness, it's a pity this monk isn't off being Tang Seng... Bai Zhuo thought to himself.
After the two of them joked around for a while, the strange sound of a bell rang out five times, echoing through the villa—it was exactly five o'clock in the morning. Since Bai Zhuo entered Jingxiu Villa, no one else had come into the venue, indicating that he was the last person to return.
Everyone's gaze focused on the stage. After Elder Ge took the stage, he fidgeted restlessly until he spotted Bai Zhuo in the crowd. Only then did he let out a sigh of relief and settled down comfortably on the platform. Seeing this scene, Bai Zhuo felt a surge of emotion and nodded in acknowledgment at Elder Ge.
