The Flying Yin Serpent Gu shot up from the ground like a cannonball, aiming straight for Bai Zhuo's back!
"Watch out!" Kagura Keiha exclaimed, trying to push Bai Zhuo away, but it was already too late! In that critical moment, the Seven-Colored Silkworm saved Bai Zhuo's life once again! "Whoosh!" The Golden Silkworm intercepted the Flying Yin Serpent Gu's sneak attack, but let out a shrill cry as she was knocked away, crashing heavily against the wall.
"Fuzzy!" Miao Xiaoqi and the Seven-Colored Silkworm shared a mutual understanding. The Gu Worm was gravely injured, and Miao Xiaoqi downstairs was not faring any better; she felt a sharp pain in her chest and spat out several mouthfuls of blood.
"Damn it! Why are you still alive?" Bai Zhuo snapped back to reality, cursing as he pulled out several talismans and hurled them at the Flying Yin Serpent Gu, but it dodged them all effortlessly.
The Curse wobbled up from the ground and said, "Not only did you kill my disciple, but you also took my life. You think you can just walk away from this?"
Kagura Keiha looked astonished and asked, "You’re still alive? How is that possible?"
The eerie head grinned with its jaw-like mouth and chuckled darkly, "Heh heh heh... If I hadn't completed the ritual, I might have really been done for today!"
Bai Zhuo frowned and asked, "Ritual? Isn't it the Nine Turns of the Universe Yin Soul Formation?"
The Curse returned to its body and asked with interest, "Oh? So you know about the Nine Turns of the Universe Yin Soul Formation? Heh heh, do you really think I would be so kind as to help those unfortunate souls return to life? Heh heh heh..."
"Then why have you harmed so many women? For your amusement?" Bai Zhuo trembled with rage as he shouted, "You monster! Those victims were only in their twenties! Damn it! What are you really after?"
But the Sorcerer remained unfazed. He adjusted his head with his bony hands and grinned grotesquely. "What’s wrong? Do you want to be a savior? Or is there someone you know among them?"
The Sorcerer hit the nail on the head. Bai Zhuo clenched his fists tightly, his nails digging into his flesh as images of Li Yue's tragic death flashed through his mind, filling him with fury.
The Sorcerer continued, "Why do I kill them? Let me tell you! What I’m doing isn’t called the Nine Turns of the Universe Yin Soul Formation; it's called the Nine Turns to One Resurrection Technique! Borrowing souls to return souls! Hahaha... This way, I can have five lives!" The Sorcerer laughed maniacally before suddenly changing his expression to one of sinister intent. His voice turned low and threatening: "Unfortunately, just now, you wasted one of my lives! I will make you pay!"
Bai Zhuo carefully cradled the barely breathing Seven-Colored Silkworm in his arms and set her down gently. Taking a deep breath, he said calmly, "Eighty-one lives exchanged for your five lives—each of them had their own families, parents, even children! Most importantly, you've hurt Qiqi's Fuzzy! You deserve to die!"
Standing beside Bai Zhuo, Kagura Keiha felt an unprecedented killing intent emanating from him. Until now, Bai Zhuo had never displayed such a sharp aura! What had he encountered during this time?
Sensing Bai Zhuo's killing intent, Kagura Keiha instinctively took a step back, just as Bai Zhuo swiftly threw out a Black Curse.
"Hiss! A high-level talisman! What a waste!"
Amidst Kagura Keiha's exclamation, the Black Curse in Bai Zhuo's hand shot towards the Sorcerer. "Thunder God Summons, Urgent Command!"
The Flying Yin Serpent Gu darted towards the Black Curse like lightning, aiming to pierce through the talisman. However, it seemed Bai Zhuo had anticipated this move. He shouted lightly, "Explode!"
With a thunderous boom, a deafening clap of thunder struck down, catching the Flying Yin Serpent Gu off guard.
Yet, this Flying Yin Serpent Gu was indeed a top-ranked evil spirit; despite being hit by the black Thunder Emperor Talisman, it only let out a few pained cries and twitched on the ground before springing back to life.
"Damn it, is my strength insufficient? Is my Borrowing Method lacking?" Bai Zhuo questioned himself with a serious expression. "Kagura Keiha, if you truly consider me a friend, help me block him!" He pulled out six more Black Curses and formed intricate Hand Seals as he recited a lengthy incantation.
"Yin gives birth to Yang, Yang assists Yin; Yin and Yang create two forms, two forms give rise to three talents, three talents generate four symbols, four symbols produce five elements, five elements give birth to all things! Six harmonies, seven stars, eight trigrams, nine palaces; everything returns to ten directions, and nine returns to one!"
Kagura Keiha's Jumping Corpse 007 was entangled with the Sorcerer while he struggled alongside the Snow Woman against the Flying Yin Serpent Gu. He felt as though they were gradually losing ground; this creature was simply too fast! After barely holding on for less than a minute, Kagura Keiha cried out in frustration, "Bai Zhuo, I know you're preparing something big... but can you hurry up? I can barely hold on; this thing is really strange!"
Unmoved by his plea, Bai Zhuo flung five Black Curses around the Sorcerer, firmly sticking them beside him. He closed his eyes and continued chanting spells as his Hand Seals grew increasingly complex and rigid.
"Radiant Five Thunders, all laws of heaven and earth. Draw upon my Yang fire; summon the five emperors of the five directions to assist my divine might. With this power, extinguish ghostly souls and sever Yin spirits!" Bai Zhuo suddenly opened his eyes wide; an extraordinary light flashed within them as he pressed the last array talisman into the ground!
"Ten Thousand Methods Five Thunder Formation—Five Thunders Strike Down! Taiyi Zhenjun commands urgently!"
With a rumble of thunder echoing above the balcony, what had been clear skies for thousands of miles suddenly darkened with ominous clouds under the influence of the Ten Thousand Methods Five Thunder Formation.
On the rooftop, thunder rumbled ominously above the Sorcerer, where dark clouds loomed, devoid of rain but crackling with deafening lightning. It felt as if they were right beneath the stormy sky, and everyone struggled to catch their breath. Suddenly, a fierce wind swept through, and Bai Zhuo shouted, "Kagura Keiha! Cast a binding spell and come over here! Otherwise, you'll be struck down too!"
"Kagura Keiha!" Bai Zhuo exclaimed. "What kind of formation is this? It's terrifying!" Taking a step back, Kagura Keiha threw a yellow talisman and drew back her bow. "Illumination Technique - Exorcism Arrow—Exorcism Arrow! Bind!"
The Sorcerer had suffered greatly from his Demon-Breaking Arrow before and was immediately on high alert. However, the Exorcism Arrow was not aimed at him but at the Flying Yin Serpent Gu behind him! With a whoosh, three arrows shot toward the Gu Worm, but the Flying Yin Serpent Gu was not only agile but also cunning; it would not easily fall prey to these Exorcism Arrows.
"Snow Woman!" "Yes! Master!" The Snow Woman beside Kagura Keiha's kimono puffed up slightly, her long white hair standing on end as frost began to form around the balcony.
"Snow Realm—Icebound for Miles!" The Snow Woman's pale lips parted, and a powerful Yin Qi instantly bound the Sorcerer and the Flying Yin Serpent Gu in place, showing signs of freezing! One of the Exorcism Arrows lodged firmly in the wing of the Flying Yin Serpent Gu, pinning it to the ground and provoking its furious roars.
"Snow Woman! Move!" "Understood, Master!"
Bai Zhuo chanted incantations continuously until Kagura Keiha stepped out of the formation's range. Gritting his teeth, he finally closed the eye of the Ten Thousand Methods Five Thunder Formation. "Ah!" Just then, Bai Zhuo suddenly let out a terrible scream that startled Kagura Keiha. Turning back, she saw Bai Zhuo bleeding from his seven orifices, his eyes turning white as he lost his Yang fire and Yang energy!
This was a sign of soul power depletion! When soul power ran low and Borrowing Method was insufficient, one would substitute with one's Yang energy or Yang fire; if those were still lacking, then one would draw upon their Lifespan!
Bai Zhuo had recently learned this demon-slaying technique from books and understood its formidable nature. However, the power of this Borrowing Method far exceeded his expectations! He found himself in a predicament. If he stopped now, the backlash from Borrowing Method would not simply result in broken limbs; if he continued casting spells, who knew how many years of Lifespan this formation would drain from him? I remember I wasn't like this before?" Bai Zhuo suddenly began to ramble incoherently. Kagura Keiha couldn't make sense of what he was saying and asked him, "What?"
However, Bai Zhuo did not respond; he merely lifted his head slightly to glance at Kagura Keiha. She clearly saw the golden glow in his eyes! Her breath caught in her throat as she took several steps back, nearly tumbling down the stairs while muttering in Japanese, "This... this... is it the Eye of God? No, no... how is that possible... you are clearly just a mortal... absolutely impossible..."
Bai Zhuo stood up and raised both hands to channel the natural forces between earth and sky. In an instant, he replenished the power required for this formation! He shook his head as if talking to himself or someone else: "This may be my last assistance... The net is vast yet full of holes; breaking rules too often will lead to trouble. As soon as Bai Zhuo finished speaking, dark clouds loomed overhead. "Boom!"
