My Tenant is a Female Ghost
Bai Zhuo looked at the demon hovering in mid-air, filled with regret. This Ten Thousand Methods Five Thunder Formation had not only drained his energy and soul power but also made the demon even stronger. The demon squinted its eyes and pointed at Bai Zhuo, saying, "Child, I will spare you today. The next time we meet will be your death!"
Bai Zhuo was startled when the demon pointed at him. Hearing this, he realized that the creature wanted to escape because it sensed the overwhelming presence of people here! The demon's current strength was already formidable; how could Zheng Ming and Monk Hengyuan let it slip away? Zheng Ming took the initiative, slamming the Sophora Wood Coffin down onto the ground with a loud thud. He opened the coffin lid, revealing an opening. Zheng Ming formed a hand seal and chanted an incantation. A strange cry emerged from within the coffin, and a wisp of green smoke transformed into two visible skulls, floating toward the demon in mid-air.
The green smoke shaped like skulls appeared to move slowly but was actually quite fast, reaching the demon's back in the blink of an eye. The demon seemed to sense the danger posed by the two Yin Qi entities and attempted to flee. Monk Hengyuan immediately recited the Six-Character Mantra, pointing his Exorcism Seal at the demon from a distance: "Om, Ma, Ni, Padme, Hum!"
With a resonating "Om," the air around the demon thickened as if a barrier had descended. Sure enough, a faint Buddhist light shone down like the rising sun at dawn, illuminating the demon. It seemed to suffer immense pain from this light, clutching its head in agony as it fell onto the balcony. Meanwhile, behind it, the two skull-shaped wisps of green smoke quickly merged into a long blade and aimed for the demon's wings!
The demon sensed this and desperately tried to retract its wings, but it was too late. The green blade struck one of its fleshy wings with a tearing sound, severing it and spilling bright red blood everywhere. Only this vivid blood revealed that this Sorcerer was not merely a demon but a human.
The severed wing fell to the ground and soon turned into grayish debris scattered around. In pain, the Sorcerer shook his hands angrily and unleashed six lightning arrows towards Hengyuan Monk, Zheng Ming, Kagura Keiha, Cai Wenwu, and Bai Zhuo. However, they all easily dodged them. Yet it seemed that Bai Zhuo was particularly targeted by this Sorcerer; he received one more lightning arrow than anyone else.
"Damn..." Bai Zhuo cursed weakly as he stepped aside to dodge. He barely avoided the first lightning arrow; if he took one more step back, the second arrow would pose no threat. Just then, Bai Zhuo felt a sharp pain in his foot and lost his balance, falling to the ground. "Bang—" followed by a gunshot.
The bullet broke through the sound barrier; before he heard it, it had already injured him. Bai Zhuo reacted quickly but had no time to check his injury as he rolled on the ground several times, causing his Yin Yang Mirror to fall out of his pocket.
He saw that the lightning arrow narrowly grazed his hair with a whoosh before piercing through the ground beneath him; its power surpassed that of the Thunder Emperor Talisman!
Cai Wenwu's face changed drastically upon seeing this; he grabbed Bai Zhuo's right hand and swiftly pulled him back until they were out of sight of the sniper before pressing down on his earpiece and shouting, "Who is it? Who fired that shot? I almost hit my own people! If I make it back alive, I'll kill you!"
Bai Zhuo felt a burning pain on his foot as he lifted it to check; fortunately, it was just a graze where the bullet had scraped off some skin—nothing serious. If it had hit directly on his foot, he might have lost it—after all, sniper rifles are no joke!
In a distant sniper position lay a sniper with a dazed expression as if bewitched; he lay motionless on the ground while two comrades beside him lay pale and foaming at the mouth, having lost consciousness.
Wang Kun wrapped in a gray cloak dropped his binoculars and smashed them against the sniper's back before stepping on him twice in anger. "Damn useless thing!" He vented his frustration before tossing down a coin and turning to leave.
...
Bai Zhuo's sudden change made everyone present hesitate to act recklessly. Although Kagura Keiha, Monk Hengyuan, and Zheng Ming were all elites of Yin Yang Realm capable of contending with hundred demons, they were still mere mortals who could not withstand such powerful sniper bullets! Upon hearing gunfire and seeing someone fall in response, their faces turned pale as they quickly bent down seeking cover.
The Sorcerer who had transformed into a demon did not wish to fight any longer; seizing this opportunity, he leaped off the balcony. With one remaining wing flapping vigorously, he vanished between high-rise buildings.
Kagura Keiha peeked out to see that there was no trace of the Sorcerer left on the balcony. He sighed, "Oh dear... letting a tiger return to its mountain has really created a powerful enemy for ourselves... If I had known earlier, I wouldn't have come up." Kagura Keiha spoke without restraint but quickly glanced back at Bai Zhuo with an awkward laugh: "Ahaha... If Bai Zhuo is in trouble, I must step up because we are friends!"
The Sorcerer had fled, and Bai Zhuo breathed a sigh of relief, collapsing onto the ground. Hearing Kagura Keiha's words, he rolled his eyes and shook his head in silence, ignoring him. Bai Zhuo picked up the Fuzzy from the ground and let out a heavy sigh.
Monk Hengyuan had interacted with Bai Zhuo a few times and was relatively close to him. Seeing the scene before him, he lowered his head sadly. "All things have spirit, all things have life, Benefactor Bai... my condolences."
Bai Zhuo felt a weight in his heart as he cradled Fuzzy, gently blowing away the dust from her body. At that moment, his peripheral vision caught sight of something on the ground. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be his Yin Yang Mirror.
The Yin Yang Mirror still emitted a dazzling light, but its golden glow was wrapped in coarse cloth, making it appear less extraordinary. As Bai Zhuo picked up the Yin Yang Mirror to tuck it into his pocket, he was taken aback when it suddenly became extremely hot. Even wrapped in cloth, it was still burning! In pain, Bai Zhuo dropped it, and the Yin Yang Mirror fell to the ground, continuously radiating brilliant mystical light that rivaled the sun! Bai Zhuo was startled and immediately became alert, fearing that the Sorcerer was still nearby.
At that moment, Monk Hengyuan, Zheng Ming, and Kagura Keiha exclaimed in unison. "What is this! The Yin Yang Mirror!" "The Yin Yang Mirror?!" "The Eight-Foot Mirror? No, it's the Yin Yang Mirror!"
Bai Zhuo sighed inwardly at how knowledgeable these people were but then noticed that Fuzzy in his hands began to move under the mystical light of the Yin Yang Mirror! Bai Zhuo exclaimed in delight, "Fuzzy! Fuzzy is coming back to life!"
This Seven-Colored Silkworm Fuzzy had long since lost her vitality, yet under the illumination of the Yin Yang Mirror, she showed signs of revival. Bai Zhuo was overjoyed. However, Monk Hengyuan's words doused his excitement with cold water.
"Benefactor Bai, do not rejoice too soon. Although the Yin Yang Mirror is a divine object capable of drawing souls back to life, this silkworm's organs have been severely damaged. Even if it regains its soul, it won't survive for long..." Monk Hengyuan shook his head. "Amitabha—Benefactor Bai, your bond with this silkworm has come to an end; let her go peacefully."
Having been given hope only to be plunged into despair again made Bai Zhuo's heart ache. He stubbornly replied, "I don't believe it! Don't worry about me! Fuzzy will definitely be fine!" Though not from the Miaojiang Gu Clan, he had his own Gu Worms. He shared a deep connection with them and understood how important this Gu Worm was to him; their relationship was far beyond that of a mere pet and owner.
Bai Zhuo carefully placed Fuzzy on the ground and picked up the scalding hot Yin Yang Mirror again, bringing its surface close to Fuzzy so that every bit of mystical light would shine upon her.
"Sizzle..." The heat from the Yin Yang Mirror caused bubbles to form on Bai Zhuo's hands, but he did not let go; he tightly gripped the palm-sized mirror to ensure that Fuzzy missed not a single ray of mystical light. Sweat poured down his forehead as he couldn't tell if it was from heat or pain.
...
Time passed without him noticing until Bai Zhuo suddenly felt the Yin Yang Mirror gradually cooling down; it was no longer scalding hot. However, its mystical light remained undiminished and seemed even more intense than before. Bai Zhuo smiled broadly: "No matter what happens, I am your master by blood oath; you will obey me!"
The white side of the Yin Yang Mirror pulsed with waves of mystical light that grew stronger and stronger. Suddenly, Fuzzy on the ground twisted her body again, filling Bai Zhuo with joy. He watched as Fuzzy dragged her broken body and struggled to crawl away.
"Fuzzy! Fuzzy! Are you feeling better?" Bai Zhuo asked excitedly. But Fuzzy merely arched her body back to glance at him before continuing to crawl forward on the ground. Not being Miao Xiaoqi, Bai Zhuo didn't understand what Fuzzy wanted to do and could only murmur anxiously to himself. "Fuzzy... what are you trying to do? What do you want?"
After a moment passed, Bai Zhuo could clearly feel that the mystical light from the Yin Yang Mirror was gradually weakening. Without its illumination, Fuzzy's movements became increasingly stiff. Bai Zhuo realized that what Monk Hengyuan had said was true; Fuzzy's organs were indeed damaged beyond repair. Even with the Yin Yang Mirror's power to restore souls, she could not escape death.
Bai Zhuo felt helpless as he watched Fuzzy slowly lose her vitality and her body grow rigid.
The light of the Yin Yang Mirror finally dimmed, and Bai Zhuo could almost feel Fuzzy's intense unwillingness in her heart.
"I'm sorry... Fuzzy... what do you want? I can't save you... I'm sorry."
Fuzzy struggled to turn her body and glanced at Bai Zhuo.
Fuzzy...
In that moment, Bai Zhuo seemed to understand Fuzzy's look back, a flash of inspiration struck his mind!
He followed the trail of Fuzzy's crawling.
"Flying Yin Serpent Gu!" Bai Zhuo suddenly realized, immediately picking up the corpse of the Flying Yin Serpent Gu from the ground and placing it in front of Fuzzy.
As the Seven-Colored Silkworm approached the body of the Flying Yin Serpent Gu, she seemed to come back to life, becoming active once more!
The Seven-Colored Silkworm opened her delicate mandibles and leaned over the Flying Yin Serpent Gu Insect, beginning to feast. It was unimaginable that just a moment ago she had lost all vitality, yet now she was able to eat on her own, astonishing everyone!
Monk Hengyuan sighed, "Ah, I was wrong to hastily conclude the outcome. Benefactor Bai, you truly are... an extraordinary person! No wonder even my master praises you so highly. This time, I have learned something!"
Bai Zhuo smiled lightly and waved his hand dismissively. He picked up the head of the Flying Yin Serpent Gu from the ground and placed it in front of the Golden Silkworm.
The Golden Silkworm was a wondrous creature; everyone watched this miraculous scene without moving an inch from the balcony. Even Cai Wenwu, an outsider, couldn't help but marvel. Bai Zhuo stood close by, holding his breath, unwilling to disturb the adorable Seven-Colored Silkworm as she ate. After about ten minutes, the Golden Silkworm had consumed the entire body of the Flying Yin Serpent Gu and began to "attack" its head.
The head was quite hard, making a crunching sound as the silkworm ate, which was somewhat unsettling.
After another two minutes, the head of the Flying Yin Serpent Gu was completely devoured!
Once finished, the Seven-Colored Silkworm stretched lazily and spat out a strange colorful lump.
Bai Zhuo was startled, thinking she had overeaten, and quickly reached out to stroke her.
Miao Xiaoqi had a fondness for her Brother Bai; naturally, this affection extended to Bai Zhuo as well. She climbed onto Bai Zhuo's palm, affectionately rubbing against his fingers. Then she spun around in his hand and began to spit out colorful threads!
Zheng Ming looked on, his voice filled with deep envy and surprise as he exclaimed, "Rainbow Silkworm, transforming into a butterfly! Mine!"
Transforming into a butterfly?
Bai Zhuo glanced at Zheng Ming before turning his attention back to the adorable creature in his palm. He watched as the silkworm spun silk faster and faster, the colorful threads connecting it to his hand, slowly beginning to wrap itself up.
Bai Zhuo carefully cradled the silkworm, afraid it might slip from his grasp. One strand of Rainbow Silk twisted awkwardly, and he gently adjusted it with his fingernail, excitement lighting up his face.
"Mr. Bai, let's head downstairs. That monster has run off; we shouldn't keep Director Hu and the instructors waiting."
Bai Zhuo curled his fingers slightly to give the silkworm space to cocoon itself. He replied, "Alright, let's go down. Thank you this time, Monk!"
"Hehe, there's no need for thanks between Benefactor Bai and me," he said, glancing at Zheng Ming and shaking his head, choosing not to say more.
"Bai Zhuo, Bai Zhuo! Aren't you going to thank me?" Kagura Keiha suddenly jumped up, eager for recognition. However, Bai Zhuo ignored him completely and, with Cai Wenwu's assistance, made his way back downstairs.
As the main door swung open, everyone rushed forward. Miao Xiaoqi, who had dried her tears earlier, could no longer hold back and burst into tears again, throwing herself into Bai Zhuo's arms and sobbing uncontrollably.
"Woohoo... Brother Bai... I can't feel Fuzzy anymore... Was Fuzzy at peace when she left?"
