My Tenant is a Female Ghost
Bai Zhuo, no, Lin Yao Yao needed Cao Yu's cooperation. The first to stand up in opposition was not Cao Yu herself, but Cai Wenwu. Cai Wenwu was indeed worried about Bai Zhuo's safety, but Cao Yu was his cousin. He knew that his cousin was innocent and not lacking in beauty; she was the apple of their grandfather's eye. Moreover, with the miraculous potion developed by Yuxuan Group, both Cao Yu and Cao Xuan were listed on the national talent protection list. If they lost Cao Yu because of Bai Zhuo, it would not be something Cai Wenwu wanted to see, both emotionally and logically.
But what about Brother Bai's safety?
Cai Wenwu found himself in a dilemma.
"Okay, what do you need me to do?" Cao Yu suddenly replied.
"Huh? Cousin... this!" Cai Wenwu was quite surprised. From the previous conversation between Cao Yu and Bai Zhuo, he thought that Cao Yu did not like Bai Zhuo and even harbored some disdain.
"He saved my life just now, and now I save him. This way, I won't owe him anything."
"But..." Cai Wenwu wanted to say more, but seeing Cao Yu's determined gaze, he realized that she genuinely wanted to help Bai Zhuo.
Brother Bai was a good person, a rising star in the Yin Yang Realm. If he could unite with my cousin... hmm! It would be a win-win situation! Cai Wenwu thought this way, feeling no sense of crisis anymore.
Lin Yao Yao said, "Su San, we still need your help with this matter."
Su Meiniang shot Lin Yao Yao a glance. "Is there anything you can't handle, Fairy Lin? What do you need me, a mere fox spirit, for? I’m no longer called Su San; I am Su Meiniang."
"Su San, right now Young Master Bai has the Painted Skin Demon inside him, along with my spirit, the Demoness, and the Phantom Sparrow—three spirits in total—plus Young Master Bai’s own two spirits. That makes six spirits altogether. Just controlling the Demoness and Phantom Sparrow is already quite challenging for a woman; let alone dealing with the Painted Skin Demon."
Su Meiniang nodded in understanding but suddenly realized something she had missed. After thinking hard for a moment, she exclaimed, "What? The one named Bai has two souls?"
"Yes, I only discovered this recently. However, this is not the time to discuss it. Once we save Young Master Bai, we can ask An Zhi Xi about it later."
After hearing this, Su Meiniang became increasingly interested in Bai Zhuo and immediately nodded. "That's right! After we evade that annoying monk, I need to find out what exactly An Zhi Xi is selling in that gourd of hers."
"Ah? So you came here to hide!"
"Cough, less nonsense. Just do as you should."
Lin Yao Yao smiled knowingly and said to Kagura Keiha and the others, "Let's go to that tent. You all take Young Master Bai's clothes off and place them in the Pure Yang Position. I'll hold off the Painted Skin Demon, and then it will be up to me and Su San." The others, seeing Bai Zhuo speaking in a woman's voice, realized he was not the real Bai Zhuo and were at a loss, turning their gazes toward Kagura Keiha.
Kagura Keiha recognized Su Meiniang, who had just saved him, and understood her capabilities. Knowing she was acquainted with Bai Zhuo, he nodded in agreement.
The Painted Skin Demon had severely injured Zheng Ming, who was now leaning against a coffin, using a talisman to heal himself. Kagura Keiha had just pulled himself back from the brink of death, sitting on the ground to regain his strength. Cai Wenwu and several warriors under him stood guard outside the tent.
Black Tiger held a sniper rifle in his hands and had another slung over his back, seemingly fond of this type of weapon. His original sniper rifle had been left deep within the underground palace; now these two were salvaged from the camp. Cai Wenwu appeared anxious, pacing back and forth at the tent entrance, occasionally peeking inside.
"Boss, since your cousin is willing, you shouldn't worry too much," Black Tiger said, with Wang Bin nodding in agreement.
"Yeah... I suppose," Cai Wenwu stopped pacing, his tone filled with helplessness. "Since my cousin has agreed, I can't interfere too much. It's just that it's been so long without any news; I wonder what's happening inside."
At that moment, Bai Zhuo lay on the ground with his eyes tightly closed, completely naked, beside him lay another exquisite body. Cao Yu covered several vital areas with her hands, her usually cold face showing rare shyness as she stared intently at Bai Zhuo, as if afraid he would open his eyes.
"Cao Yu, don't worry. Young Master Bai won't wake up anytime soon," Bai Zhuo's voice came out through Lin Yao Yao.
Cao Yu's voice trembled slightly; it was unclear whether from cold or fear. "If it weren't for everything I've seen overturning my common sense, I wouldn't dare believe you are now a woman," she said, glancing sideways at Bai Zhuo beneath her. Suddenly spotting a dark furry object beneath him, she quickly looked away, her voice shaking even more. "Still... I'm a bit worried."
"Cao Yu, I know you are still an innocent young lady. This matter truly puts you in a difficult position."
Cao Yu shook her head, causing her chest to sway slightly. "This is something I willingly agreed to; Miss Lin need not worry about it."
"Alright, alright. It's just being seen naked; I've been seen by this guy this morning too and didn't see anyone dying over it. Besides, he’s unconscious right now. Let's get started quickly; we shouldn't waste time."
Su Meiniang pulled the Soul Banner from Bai Zhuo's backpack. The Soul Banner was originally the rent that Su Meiniang had given to Bai Zhuo, so she was familiar with using it. She gently tapped Cao Yu's forehead with the Soul Banner, and in an instant, darkness enveloped Cao Yu's vision, causing him to lose consciousness. If someone with the Yin-Yang Eye had been present, they would have seen Cao Yu's soul leaving his body, at risk of vanishing into thin air at any moment.
Holding Cao Yu's soul in one hand, Su Meiniang reached out with the other to capture the Painted Skin Demon.
Everything was proceeding smoothly until a gunshot rang out from outside. A cry of pain followed; Wang Tao had been shot.
Wang Tao screamed in agony, but fortunately, he had been hit in the backside, avoiding any critical injury. He clutched his bleeding rear and shouted angrily, "Damn you, Old Liu! Are you crazy?"
It turned out that the shooter was Old Liu, the Tomb Raider who had escaped earlier. Judging by his shooting stance, he was clearly an experienced marksman. Cai Wenwu and his team from the Dragon Abyss Assault Team reacted swiftly; as soon as they heard the gunfire, they found suitable cover and returned fire at the source of the shots.
Old Liu faced a fierce counterattack, yet based on his shooting frequency, he seemed to be even more skilled than Cai Wenwu and his team!
Cai Wenwu cursed, "What the hell? This isn't some Tomb Raider; he's practically a high-level mercenary! No wonder he could steal my gear! Whatever his background is, let's take him down!"
Gunfire continued as Zheng Ming and Kagura Keiha hid behind a pillar, too afraid to show themselves.
About a minute later, Old Liu's gun fell silent. Cai Wenwu made several tactical gestures, and Black Tiger was ordered to flank from the side. Just then, a dark green sphere flew in from a distance, landing on the stone floor with a loud bang before rolling into the tent!
"Hand grenade!"
