Laya was momentarily at a loss for words, unable to comprehend how things had suddenly turned out this way. She found herself unexpectedly nostalgic for the time when Liendel had been somewhat indifferent toward her.
The warmth and enthusiasm of Liendel were overwhelming for her, leaving her feeling inexplicably embarrassed and a bit melodramatic.
Yet, seeing the unwavering determination in Liendel's eyes, she understood that he was serious.
Finally, Laya sighed and reached out a hand toward Liendel. "Get up quickly. I would prefer you as family rather than a subordinate, so please don’t refer to yourself as my subordinate anymore, and don’t kneel before me."
Her intention was for Liendel to take her hand and stand up, but to her surprise, Silver-Haired Zerg gently cradled her hand and placed a kiss on the back of it with utmost reverence.
The warmth from his lips sent a jolt through Laya, leaving her momentarily frozen.
"This won't do; we absolutely cannot disrupt the hierarchy. A subordinate is still a subordinate."
"Didn’t Liendel say he would listen to me? Then can’t you fulfill this request now? Or are you just saying that without meaning it?"
Liendel immediately grew anxious, quickly rising in accordance with Laya's gentle pull. "Queen misunderstood; Liendel will obey the Queen's wishes."
Seeing Liendel's flustered demeanor, Laya couldn't help but smile, revealing two adorable dimples.
Liendel was also affected by the Queen's smile, unable to resist the urge to lift the corners of his mouth. How had he only just realized this?
The Queen's smile was so warm and bright, completely different from the nightmares that haunted him.
Fortunately, he had awakened in time, but the other High-level Insectoids... He frowned at the thought of his stubborn colleagues.
At that moment, a rumbling sound suddenly grew closer from a distance. Laya and Liendel both looked up to see a small battleship appearing in the sky. From the fluctuations of Psychic Power, it seemed that Sun Yan was piloting it.
The person capable of handling the aftermath had arrived. Laya felt a wave of relief wash over her, but then she glanced at the surrounding wreckage and at Liendel, and her heart sank. This was bad; were they about to expose their identities as Zerg?
Seeing the panic on Laya's face, Liendel's expression sharpened. "Queen, what happened? I will do everything to help you."
Laya shook her head, her mind in turmoil. "Your identity has already been exposed. How are we going to face Sun Yan and Lieutenant now?"
Upon hearing this, Liendel immediately relaxed his expression. "Don't worry, Queen. No one in the entire Celestial Palace Star is qualified to be my opponent. I can safely take you back to Zerg Home Planet by myself."
However, Laya felt even more anxious after hearing this. "So I won't be able to go to the military academy, right?"
Liendel was taken aback. He suddenly realized that the Queen might not want to return to Zerg Home Planet; she might actually prefer to attend a human military academy.
But perhaps that was for the best; the current Zerg held too much hostility toward the Queen.
"Queen, don't worry. I should not have exposed my identity. Before I transformed back, I still had a trace of self-awareness. At that time, I destroyed all nearby surveillance devices, so they shouldn't have discovered my identity. As long as I leave here and return home, you won't have to worry about exposure anymore. Please take care of yourself. If anything seems off, call for me immediately."
Liendel took one last deep look at Laya before disappearing in an instant.
Laya stood there in a daze until Sun Yan rushed toward her anxiously. She remained lost in thought, surprised by how much Liendel seemed to care for her.
As Laya recalled her conversation with Liendel, a warm feeling surged within her, and she couldn't help but smile slightly. Had they truly reconciled?
It must be a reconciliation; that’s wonderful!
Familiar calls brought her back to reality.
The timid Sun Yan knew how frightening it was when a high-level Zerg appeared, especially after receiving the news that Laya was also on-site. He immediately requested the most powerful warship from Celestial Palace Star to rush over.
“Miss Laya, the person standing next to you earlier seemed to be a High-level Insectoid.”
“Lieutenant Sun, are you referring to Lieutenant Colonel Lien?”
“He has already left. Lieutenant Colonel Lien stopped by Celestial Palace Star for a brief rest, but unexpectedly, Mania suddenly flared up. I assisted him with treatment, and when he regained consciousness, he thanked me and said he would compensate for the damages before leaving.”
