Sun Yan was filled with confusion. Who was this person you mentioned? What did these actions have to do with Toxic Cold Storm Lien?
That was a Zerg powerful enough to wipe out an entire star!
However, looking at the innocent gaze of the girl, Sun Yan didn't know how to explain the darkness of the world to her.
"Right now, Celestial Palace Star is no longer safe. The Central Military Academy hopes you can go there immediately. This trip is completely confidential, and you need to leave quickly and secretly. We have already arranged for someone to bring your brother here."
Upon hearing this, Laya quickly interjected, "Wait a minute! Just sending a stranger over seems too suspicious. Let me go pick up Brother Liendel instead."
Sun Yan wanted to persuade her, swearing that he would safely bring her brother over, but Laya insisted on going herself. He could only helplessly compromise and personally escort her home.
When they arrived at her doorstep, he was unceremoniously left outside, watching helplessly as Laya entered the house alone.
"I need to talk to my brother privately; it's not convenient right now. Sorry."
Sun Yan remained silent, only able to smile bitterly.
Meanwhile, Laya's heart raced as she closed the door behind her.
Liendel, being one of the universe's top combatants, was renowned for both his appearance and name. Before coming here, he had already used tools to alter his looks. However, once Liendel transformed back into his Zerg form, those tools were damaged. This meant that he was now in his true form.
Laya stumbled straight toward Liendel's room, praying that his appearance issue had been resolved.
However, things did not go as planned.
At this moment, Liendel slammed his fist against the wall, causing several cracks to radiate from the point of impact on the sturdy surface. The terrifying aura he exuded would make any intelligent being tremble in fear, yet the projected golden-haired youth showed no change in expression.
"I told you it’s impossible. I need at least three days to create the Psychic Power disruptor; it won’t be ready today. According to Yaren, the best option now is for me to take your place and accompany that guy to the Central Military Academy as your brother."
"Damn it! Don’t refer to the Queen as 'that guy!'"
Liendel gritted his teeth, clearly displeased with Shirian's attitude. The thought of those ill-intentioned individuals taking his place filled him with both anger and frustration.
But Liendel, your Psychic Power attribute is offensive, while mine is confusion and interference. If it were him, he could confuse others and alter his appearance without any tools.
"Though I don’t want to admit it, you are indeed the most suitable candidate right now. However, you cannot use my current identity."
This was Liendel's bottom line; this identity was proof that he was regarded as family by the Queen. His strong possessiveness made him unwilling to share this identity with anyone else.
Shirian glanced at him, a flicker of surprise passing through his emerald-like eyes, but he nodded in agreement nonetheless.
Though he was somewhat reclusive, he wasn’t a fool. It was clear that something had changed within Liendel, and it was related to the Queen. But what did that have to do with him?
The golden-haired youth closed his eyes and leaned back on the sofa. The dim light cast shadows on his profile, and a butterfly gently landed on his cheek, making him appear like a beautiful sleeping sprite.
Just after ending the communication, he turned to see Laya standing at the door with a pale face.
"What's wrong, Queen?"
Liendel interrupted her words, unusually flustered. They had finally broken the ice in their relationship, only to face immediate separation again.
As she was about to leave the familiar environment and her most relied-upon family, Laya felt a sense of unease, as if she had just begun to feel warmth only to be forced to journey alone through a freezing wilderness.
Liendel sighed softly, kneeling before Laya. "You don't need to worry, Queen. No matter what happens, I will definitely return to your side. The one coming to accompany you is my colleague. Although he is a dull and boring fellow, he will not harm you. So for now, let him stay by your side, alright?"
"Is he like Aivino? Does he also misunderstand and dislike my family?"
"Yes, but don't worry. He is not as dangerous as Aivino and will never do anything to make you uncomfortable."
The Queen was usually quiet and did not provoke others, while Shirian preferred solitude; they should be able to coexist peacefully.
Laya lifted her head. "I understand now. You don't need to worry about me, Liendel. Shirian is also one of my family members, and I will work hard to resolve the misunderstandings so that Shirian can recognize me again."
