Men's communication often happens either in the bathhouse or in the restroom, and this saying holds true. We had barely stepped inside for a minute when Bald Brother agreed to take me and Dezi, the two newcomers, under his wing as an Old Driver, but only if we paid him five hundred yuan.
As I listened to Bald Brother ramble on, I took the opportunity to survey the interior of the bathhouse. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that several guys from the Police Department were also present, but Yuzelin was nowhere to be found. After a moment of thought, I realized that Yuzelin must have gone to one of the private rooms. She would certainly be able to see through the tricks of those private rooms and likely had already taken the lead.
I said, "Guo Guoqing was right; it really is true."
Upon hearing my words, Bald Brother suddenly fell silent. He gave us an awkward smile, grabbed a towel, stood up, and walked away. My brow furrowed; it was clear that something I had said had struck a nerve. The only key point in what I had just said was a person's name—Guo Guoqing.
"What’s wrong?" I grabbed Bald Brother's wrist casually. "Didn’t you say you would take us with you? Why are you leaving alone now?"
Just moments ago, Bald Brother had been chatting animatedly with us, but now he shouted, "Who are you two? What do you want with me? I don’t know you; you must have mistaken me for someone else!"
With that, he shook off my hand and tossed the towel over his shoulder before turning and running away. From this behavior alone, it seemed that Bald Brother was quite secretive about whatever was going on. It appeared that something unpleasant had indeed happened involving Guo Guoqing in this bathhouse.
It wouldn’t be long before we were surrounded by people from this bathhouse. I turned to Dezi and said, "Be careful; I think Guo Guoqing sent us here with ill intentions."
Dezi nodded, and we immediately headed for the exit. However, we hadn’t taken more than a few steps when a group of people entered from outside. They were all dressed in shorts, covered in tattoos of dragons and tigers, and each one sported a shaved head that gleamed under the lights of the bathhouse. Some carried clubs while others wielded chains; they looked well-prepared.
Upon closer inspection, I realized that among these bald men was none other than Bald Brother—the same one who had just left us. He pointed at me and Dezi and said, "Dragon Brother, it’s these two. While I was chatting with them, they mentioned that Guo Guoqing sent them."
"Just these two? Are you sure there’s no one else?" The leader of the group, Dragon Brother, was tattooed with a green dragon that wrapped around his chest and back. He held a machete in one hand and a cigarette in the other as he looked at Bald Brother with an ingratiating smile.
"I swear on my life—it's definitely them!" Bald Brother replied with a serious expression.
Dragon Brother nodded slowly before taking a drag from his cigarette and blowing out a smoke ring. He then tossed the cigarette onto the ground and crushed it underfoot with his slipper. Scratching his bald head, he said, "Today Dragon Brother has booked this place; anyone unrelated should leave now. You have one minute to get out. If you're still here after that minute is up, don’t blame me for being ruthless!"
The people in the bathhouse had been waiting for this moment. Initially stunned by the sudden influx of people, they now scrambled to exit upon hearing they could leave. The officers from the Police Department hesitated about whether to leave or not; I gave them a nod to signal them to go.
Our plan had been to create chaos so that Yuzelin and her team could sneak up to the third floor or some other area of this bathhouse to find useful information. We hadn’t even started looking for trouble when trouble found us instead. It seemed that Guo Guoqing's name carried weight; we weren’t the only ones looking for him.
In just ten seconds or so, only Dezi and I remained along with this new group of people.
We wrapped our bodies in towels tightly to avoid any embarrassing situations during potential scuffles. It was fine to fight if necessary, but we needed to understand why we were fighting—what exactly had Guo Guoqing done to offend these big shots? And why were we here taking the fall for him?
At that moment, no one spoke inside the Bathhouse; the only sound was the water splashing onto the floor. Dragon Brother smiled and gestured for everyone to close the doors of the Bathhouse before he began to speak. "I was wondering who Guo Guoqing could possibly bring, but in the end, it’s just two fools."
I shrugged and replied to Dragon Brother, "What did Guo Guoqing do to you? My brother and I don’t want to get beaten up for no reason."
Dragon Brother scratched the back of his head and said, "That kid Guo Guoqing has done quite a few wicked things around here. I didn’t expect you two to dare show up today. I’ve said it before: anyone who has had dealings with Guo Guoqing will inevitably get a beating when they come here."
"This situation is something you brought upon yourselves; don’t blame me," Dragon Brother continued. "Go back and tell Guo Guoqing that the matter regarding Angel isn’t over. He’d better hand her over, or else I’ll keep beating him every time I see him. Tianlan City isn’t big; no matter where he hides, I’ll find him eventually."
Hearing Dragon Brother's words, I sensed that this matter might involve a woman. The name Angel clearly indicated a female, and it seemed that Guo Guoqing had taken her away. However, the woman we saw at Guo Guoqing's house wasn’t named Angel, and our investigation showed that she wasn’t from around here.
So this Angel—whom we had never seen—could she be a victim? If so, things were getting complicated. Moreover, Angel didn’t sound like a real name. Could she be one of the ladies from Heavenly Palace Bathhouse? Given Guo Guoqing's character, it was indeed plausible.
"We don’t know anything about Angel; is she one of your ladies from Heavenly Palace Bathhouse?" I asked.
"You don’t need to know that. Just remember, after you leave here today, it will be an unforgettable experience!" Dragon Brother shouted. "Brothers, get them! Don’t kill them or leave them crippled; I’ll take care of the rest."
With that, the group charged at us while Dragon Brother casually stepped into the pool to wash himself, enjoying his bath like a typical gangster boss from a TV drama, completely ignoring our situation as he relished his solitude. We didn’t have time to pay attention to this show-off Dragon Brother; we had to focus on the group rushing toward us.
Fortunately, everyone was wearing slippers and moved slowly for fear of slipping before any fighting even started. Even so, those ten or so people were already in front of us. Dezi could easily take on five of them without any problem; after all, I had trained in police academy and was different from these bullies who relied on their numbers.
The moment they attacked, we realized they were all just show. I stayed back while Dezi handled everything alone. Sure enough, Dezi moved among these thugs like a war god on the battlefield, not allowing anyone to get close.
In less than ten seconds, it became clear who the soft targets were; one by one, they hesitated to confront Dezi and instead turned their attention toward me. Of course, I wouldn’t hold back either; I aimed a sweeping kick at them. They jumped to avoid it, but with the floor being so slippery, they ended up falling flat on their faces.
At this point, Dezi had warmed up and began tossing these little punks into the pool one by one, splashing water everywhere as they turned into makeshift divers.
"Watch out!"
Just then, one thug came up behind Dezi with a machete raised high. My heart raced in alarm. It seemed this punk was dazed from being beaten; he swung the machete directly at Dezi's head! I was genuinely frightened—if that hit him on the head, he wouldn’t survive.
But Dezi wasn’t an ordinary person either; upon hearing my warning without even turning around, he kicked backward. Then came the sharp sound of metal hitting the ground as I sighed in relief. Dezi always aimed for joints when he struck and knew how to control his strength; despite these thugs lying on the ground now, they weren’t seriously hurt.
This was part of their training: how to subdue an enemy with minimal damage inflicted.
In this unequal fight, it took less than five minutes for more than ten people to lie on the ground, shouting and groaning. In the pool, Dragon Brother sensed something was off and quickly turned around, only to see that in the bathhouse, it was just me and Dezi standing, while everyone else was down.
Dragon Brother's eyes widened in disbelief; it seemed he never expected his intimidation tactic would fail so miserably. He looked at us, then at the people sprawled on the ground.
I remained silent and simply pointed a finger at Dragon Brother.
He was still dazed in the pool. I thought to myself, if an Armed Police Instructor couldn't handle these punks, he might as well retire. But Dragon Brother didn't know Dezi's true identity; who would have thought someone could take on five armed individuals without any weapons?
Most people would hesitate to resist when faced with such punks wielding weapons. They probably never expected us to fight back, especially not with such a victorious stance.
I smiled at Dragon Brother, beckoned him with my finger, and said, "Hey Dragon Brother, do you not understand what I mean? Should I go into the pool and invite you out?"
Only then did Dragon Brother snap back to reality. He hurriedly jumped out of the pool and rushed over to me in a few quick steps, saying as he walked, "See? Isn't this a bit awkward!"
The scene shifted as the story unfolded: The young master was coerced by the daughter of a cultivation family to become her consort. In the stillness of the night, alone together, the Busty Fairy suddenly reached out to caress the young man's back...
