Chapter 55: The Long Sword as Proof
Lian Yun naturally had no objections to Lin Nan's joining. Although the two had long been calling each other like brothers, their bond had even surpassed that of biological siblings.
However, if they could become sworn brothers, it would signify a different kind of relationship.
In Lian Yun's heart, Lin Nan was somewhat akin to a member of the Lin Clan, as well as being Lin Nan's son and cousin. If they were to swear brotherhood, although it wouldn't completely erase these connections, it would still be different.

When they stepped out of the bus, there was little change in Lian Yun and Lin Nan. Lian Yun appeared more neatly dressed in his armed attire, having tidied his hair. Lin Nan seemed to have meticulously groomed his eyebrows and even trimmed his hair slightly.
However, Mu Realm was strikingly impressive. To be honest, he wasn't exceptionally handsome by conventional standards, but his robust physique, chiseled features, and bronzed skin gave him a rugged charm that was undeniably appealing.
Standing together, each of them showcased their distinct characteristics. Lian Yun was somewhat reserved but possessed an almost perfect figure that exuded a vibrant energy that was difficult for ordinary people to perceive.
Mu Realm appeared stable due to his quiet demeanor; his slightly self-absorbed gaze hinted at a touch of selfishness, yet he wasn't truly self-serving.
Lin Nan was more flamboyant, with an air of concealed dominance about him.
"I’m August!" Mu Realm suddenly spoke up, then casually shot a glance at Lin Nan.
Lin Nan, who had just opened his mouth, was taken aback by Mu Realm's words, forming a dumbfounded expression.
He had originally thought that Lian Yun was the eldest, he himself was the second, and Mu Realm was third. However, with Mu Realm speaking first, by age alone—counting by months—he, born in November, could only be considered Old Three.
"That's not right! In terms of seniority, my brother and I have been brothers for a long time. You’re the newcomer; you can only be Old Three!" Lin Nan argued with a defiant look.
"Then let’s talk about strength!"
"Bring it on! Who’s afraid of whom!"

Lin Nan covered his face with his hands and lamented, "What a disaster! How did I end up with two guys who are infuriating and relentless!"

Lin Feiyu and the others smiled amicably. The Sword God Dongfang Yi and Lin Nan nodded in agreement, feeling that these three individuals with distinct personalities truly got along well!
"What shall we use as proof?" Mu Realm asked, clearly not very skilled at communication and seemingly eager to settle things through combat.
Usually, a brotherhood is sworn upon the earth as a witness, but in the Mu Realm, the intention is different.
Lin Feiyu smiled slightly and said, "Since you met at Divine Sword Mountain and are all sword users, let Divine Sword Mountain be the witness."
Mu Realm shook his head, clearly not in agreement with Lin Feiyu's suggestion.
Lian Yun smiled lightly and said, "Let Wu Tai, Now Absolute, and Chasing Clouds bear witness!"
Chasing Clouds was Lin Nan's sword. On the surface, it represented speed, able to chase after white clouds. However, considering Lin Nan's admiration for Lian Yun and Lian Yun's name containing "Yun," it also symbolized Lin Nan's desire to pursue Lian Yun.
Having the three swords bear witness held a deeper meaning.
For instance, as long as the swords exist, so do their wielders; if one of Wu Tai, Now Absolute, or Chasing Clouds were to be severed, it would signify that the other two had lost a brother!
If the swords remained intact, it would mean that the three would be brothers for life.
This was a very straightforward implication.
It was more realistic and sincere than swearing upon the earth; it sought not just to live together but to die together.
Unless all three encountered an insurmountable disaster simultaneously, it would be difficult for them to die together. Thus, while the notion of brotherhood seeking a shared death carried a sense of sharing joys and sorrows, it lacked substantial practical significance.
Upon Lian Yun's proposal, both Mu Realm and Lin Nan nodded immediately, leaving Lin Feiyu feeling somewhat speechless.
However, Lin Wuji smiled slightly and said, "That's why they can swear brotherhood!"
Three of them, Lian Yun, Lin Nan, and Mu Realm, each drew their swords and made a cut on their fingers, allowing two drops of blood to fall into the other two's long swords.
"Elder Brother!" Lin Nan exclaimed.
"Elder Brother! Third Brother!" Mu Realm called out.
"Second Brother! Third Brother!" Lian Yun responded.
The three of them wore calm expressions, their eyes reflecting a hint of contentment.
What would later be known as the Oath of the Three Emperors was thus simply completed.
"Since we are brothers of Yun and Nan, I invite Mu Realm to visit our Lin family!" Lin Feiyu said with a slight smile.
Mu Realm looked puzzled.
Dongfang Yi smiled gently and said, "The Lin Clan is well-respected throughout the alliance. Even if it is not at the very top of the world, it is certainly among the best!"
"Although your swordsmanship is decent, your spiritual power is somewhat lacking. It would be wise to accept some Armed items to aid in your growth!"
Seeing the sincerity on the faces of the Lin Clan members, Mu Realm felt a bit embarrassed but nodded in agreement.
After all, he truly lacked good Armed items, which made it difficult for him to elevate his Armed Ghost Hunter level.
Thus, Lin Feiyu and the others boarded their carriage first, and then Lin Nan approached Mu Realm.
However, as Mu Realm stepped onto the bus, he immediately turned back, looking at Lian Yun, who remained motionless with confusion.
"He is heading to Fengdu!"
Mu Realm quickly turned to get off the bus, but Lin Nan pressed down on his shoulder. "If the elder brother doesn't return, we will destroy the entire Fengdu!"

Only then did Mu Realm nod and turn back into the bus. The doors closed, and the bus began to drive away.
Only Lian Yun, Lin Nan, and Dongfang Yi were left behind.
However, Dongfang Yi waved his hand, and a sword flew in from outside, landing at his feet. Then he soared away like a celestial being, controlling the sword with ease.
Lian Yun bowed respectfully to the departing Sword God and then nodded calmly at Lin Nan before turning southwest and walking slowly.
