Chapter 19: The One Hundred Ninety-Third - The Clone of Soul Sword and Wu Tai
Lan Ruoxuan's eyes lit up. A sixteen or seventeen-year-old monarch with Monarch combat power was undoubtedly a Talent. Her potential was comparable to that of the young man she had just met.
Lan Ruoxuan nodded in satisfaction, then looked around and sighed, "Nothing has changed!"
"Ever since my sister lost contact, I have been searching for news about her every day. This place hasn't changed, but Azure Pavilion's business is not what it used to be. If it weren't for Yixuan supporting us now..." Azure Drift lowered her head somewhat shamefully.
"You've worked hard all these years!"
"It's not hard at all, but what about you, sister~~~" Once again, Azure Drift threw herself into Lan Ruoxuan's embrace.
"Alright, I've got some matters to attend to and need to rest for a few days. A boy who calls himself Bai Yun might come looking for me. Please treat him well when he arrives!"
"Got it!" Azure Drift stood up, her eyes revealing a hint of curiosity.
She knew that her sister was never fond of so-called men. The fact that this boy could catch her sister's attention must mean he was someone special.
Although she didn't know the details, anyone who could make her sister want to treat him well couldn't be an ordinary person!
As Lan Ruoxuan vanished from the spot, Cute Girl let out a cold snort, clearly displeased with how the other party treated her master.
However, Azure Drift felt refreshed and approached, playfully tapping Cute Girl on the head with a mock frown. "You need to be more careful in the future, Girl. Don't judge people by their appearances."
"Sister just isn't good at expressing her feelings. You should know that with her strength, if she truly rejected me as her master, I wouldn't even be able to get close to her. Even if I did get close, she would have pushed me away immediately. But she didn't do that, which means she cares for me."
"Sister kept asking about your situation earlier because she wants to take you to challenge the Year Beast Secret Realm during the New Year. You really don't know how fortunate you are, Girl." In conclusion, Azure Drift gently tapped Girl on the head again, showing her affection.
Initially feeling wronged, Cute Girl understood after hearing this and nodded in dissatisfaction.
If Lian Yun were here and saw this Cute Girl, she would likely be both shocked and overjoyed. After all, Xin'er was the stage name given to her by Azure Drift, while she had chosen the alias—General—for herself.
After Lian Yun established the Cloud Realm, he went into the main house and began to transform the Soul Material Gravel within the Yin-Yang Stage into blocks of stone, subsequently forging rough Greatswords. Meanwhile, he continuously read the information sent by Tian Shou.
The primary focus was on various Challenge Towers, Dungeons, and some mission-related events in Xianyang City.
Lian Yun chose Xianyang City as his base because, according to the promotions for Yin Yang City, each of the Twelve Cities had its own unique features, and Xianyang City was known as the Famous City with the most opportunities to earn Honor Points.
In addition to news about Xianyang City, there were other messages that Lian Yun temporarily disregarded. However, he paid close attention to the upcoming New Year Beast Event.
After organizing the somewhat scattered information, he realized that this so-called Year Beast event was actually a reward from the Eternal Emperor to everyone in Yin Yang City for their hard work throughout the year.
The challenges involving the Year Beast could be roughly divided into three types. The first involved Year Beasts that continuously spawned in the Twelve Cities and various Fortresses. These Year Beasts had weak attack power and limited movement range but were very quick to evade. Typically, they required multiple players to surround and defeat them.
The player who delivered the final blow would receive a treasure chest, while others, although they wouldn’t receive a chest, could still earn rewards based on their individual contributions.
Interestingly, those who did not receive a treasure chest might end up with rewards that were more valuable than what could be found in a chest.
As a result, participants in the battle would generally focus on attacking rather than competing for the final blow, fostering cooperation among them.
The second type involved Dungeons, which also belonged to Famous Cities. Even within Dungeons, Year Beasts could appear in varying numbers depending on personal luck and related to the difficulty of the Dungeon. There was also a chance for higher-tier Year Beasts to spawn, which could drop two or even several treasure chests.
This led certain established factions or teams to challenge these Dungeons, thereby reducing instances of players competing for monsters in various Famous Cities.
The last type was an exclusive benefit for Monarchs: the Year Beast Secret Realm challenge. A Monarch could bring two companions, but each could only allow one Ghost Slave to participate in battle. Similarly, a Demon Emperor could bring two Ghost Kings and allow one Human Slave to fight. In total, this meant a maximum of six combatants.
Within the Year Beast Secret Realm, three types of Year Beasts would appear: ordinary, elite, and what was referred to as BSS.
Both Ordinary and Elite Year Beasts needed to be defeated to obtain treasure chests; however, BSS Beasts were different—they could not be killed but would drop treasure chests after sustaining a certain amount of damage.
This meant that stronger players would receive more treasure chests. Additionally, there were three tiers of treasure chests that could drop.
Lastly, there was a ranking system: among all teams challenging the secret realm, the top one hundred teams with the highest damage dealt to Year Beast BSS would receive corresponding rewards.
Among them were Honor Points, which made Lian Yun particularly focused on this event. The preparation for forging a rough Soul Sword was for this purpose.
Lian Yun had indeed made up his mind to use only Wu Tai's sword, but the Soul Sword was different. From Yang Zai Xing's spear, Lian Yun discovered some mysteries of the Soul Weapon.
Thus, forging the Soul Sword was essentially for Wu Tai. Integrating it with Wu Tai would not only nourish the still-sleeping Taiwu Sword Spirit but also allow the Wutai Sword to in turn enrich the Soul Sword. Essentially, Lian Yun's Soul Sword was like a manifestation of Wu Tai.
Moreover, this was also preparation for his self-created Ten Thousand Sword Technique.
However, two hours were too short. He first needed to refine it himself and then merge it with Wu Tai, so Lian Yun only managed to forge ten rough Soul Swords.
After recovering his spirit, Lian Yun set off for Chang'an City. He arrived directly at the Central Square of Chang'an City through the Teleportation Array, but first went to the Post Station to handle some formalities.
Since Yin Yang City required a fixed identity within the Famous City, there would naturally be some restrictions. Generally speaking, while one could freely reach other Famous Cities, if certain procedures were not followed, the difficulty of accepted missions would increase while the rewards would decrease.
Ordinary Citizens could handle temporary residence procedures in Famous Cities, usually ranging from one to three days. They could only apply once a month, and although mission difficulty would not increase, rewards would diminish by ten to twenty percent.
However, Lian Yun's identity as a Third-Class Imperial Citizen granted him considerable special privileges.
