Chapter 0: Three Golden Hairs
Was the special attention from the Eternal Emperor a sign that he was constantly being watched? Lian Yun had not even reached the status of Monarch yet, so if such a great emperor was monitoring him, it must be related to the Yin-Yang Stage.
Moreover, Lian Yun felt that if the Eternal Emperor was indeed watching him, then his encounter with Lan Ruoxuan was likely a deliberate arrangement by the emperor.
It was important to note that although Lan Ruoxuan was not a Peerless Monarch, the assistance she could provide to Lian Yun was likely unparalleled, surpassing that of two or three Peerless Monarchs combined.
To meet such a benefactor so easily, and right upon arriving in Yin Yang City, could this be considered an excessive coincidence?
However, if it were indeed the emperor's intentional arrangement, it would make sense.
Just the thought of being under the emperor's watch made Lian Yun feel uneasy all over.
Li Si noticed Lian Yun's discomfort and mysteriously smiled, saying, "Under the universal law, could it be that you are favored by the imperial land?"
His implication was that if Lian Yun received special attention from the emperor, it meant he had more opportunities to interact with him, thereby increasing Li Si's chances of entering the emperor's sight as well.
Currently, he was solely focused on serving the emperor and felt no guilt about it; naturally, he hoped for more attention and understanding of his loyalty from the emperor.
Lian Yun truly felt awkward. After pondering for a moment, he realized that the entire Yin Yang City functioned as an Earth Formation. Not just Lian Yun, but everyone within Yin Yang City was under the emperor's watchful eye, leaving almost no secrets.
With this in mind, he felt less uncomfortable. The emperor's special attention seemed quite impressive after all.
However, the feeling of being constantly monitored remained unpleasant. Taking a deep breath, Lian Yun weakly bowed and asked, "May I ask, senior, what is the purpose of the Three Golden Hairs? From your words, it seems that even a Peerless Monarch cannot obtain them."
"Not necessarily; it's just that no Monarch has acquired them thus far," Li Si replied casually.
Yet Lian Yun felt speechless. This was essentially akin to the Year Beast Secret Realm; while no one had killed a Year Beast yet, it wasn't impossible to do so.
Since no one had obtained them before, there were no records available. This piqued Lian Yun's curiosity about what exactly the Three Golden Hairs were useful for. However, he refrained from asking further and instead looked sincerely at Li Si.
Li Si once again smiled mysteriously and said, "You will know once you fuse three drops of soul blood with them."
Ghost Slave? Lian Yun was somewhat surprised. Soul blood referred to the essence blood contracted with Ghost Slaves. Given that Yin Yang City was a place rich in Spirit energy, it naturally led him to think along those lines. However, Li Si's enigmatic smile suggested something unusual.
With no one else around, Lian Yun took out the Three Golden Hairs again and prepared to fuse them with three drops of soul blood.
The moment Lian Yun's essence made contact with the Three Golden Hairs, he felt as if his soul had been torn into three pieces. His face turned pale, and he felt so weak that he could barely stand, collapsing onto the ground. He quickly drank three bottles of Mental Potion, feeling as if the wounds on his soul were beginning to heal.
However, at that moment, a look of joy appeared on Lian Yun's face, though it was mixed with confusion.
Within Lian Yun's Dantian, in the Yin-Yang Stage...
"Wow, wow, wow~~~ Boss, how did you get in here? Wow, there are three of you! And wait, Boss, why are you so tiny?"
Big Head spun around above Lian Yun's head as usual.
But now, in Lian Yun's eyes, Big Head seemed like a colossal entity, its Ghost Body sprawling out and appearing vast beyond measure.
The three Lian Yuns exchanged glances.
"Are we clones?"
"Seems like it."
"No wonder Senior Li Si mentioned this as a special favor from the Eternal Emperor."
The three Lian Yuns could think independently but were still one entity; they all arrived at the same conclusion simultaneously.
Each of these three clones was focused on different pursuits: one was practicing Dancing with Demons, another was comprehending swordsmanship through the Ten Thousand Sword Technique, and the last was exploring Vibrational Force. Meanwhile, the main body could continue taking on missions and challenging various Ranking Lists.
Most importantly, these three clones could act independently. This meant that Lian Yun's clones could each venture out into the world under his identity. Even if someone suspected something, they wouldn't dare to confirm that Bai Yun was indeed Lian Yun.
Alternatively, one clone could continue to appear as Bai Yun while the main body adopted a new identity for its travels.
The Three Golden Hairs served as an excellent cover for Lian Yun's true identity.
Perfectly suited for their respective purposes, the Three Golden Hairs could flawlessly conceal his real identity. Thus, even if Li Si's involvement was merely coincidental and not a special favor from the Emperor, Lian Yun would not believe it.
Other Ghost Slaves approached to observe the three large Lian Yuns. Even Hei came over to sniff them and confirmed without a doubt that they were indeed Lian Yun. His eyes lit up with curiosity.
Lian Yun felt somewhat helpless and waved his hand. "Go practice on your own; I don't fully understand my current state yet."
The three Lian Yuns waved in unison but felt a bit awkward. They exchanged glances and then laughed together.
This feeling was truly special; although it was all oneself, it felt as if there were two brothers who shared a deep connection. With you and me, yet without the distinction of you and me.
Then the three Lian Yuns each contemplated the mystery of this doppelgänger, and soon their thoughts converged, leading to yet another surprise.
These three doppelgängers were currently only at the most basic Monsters level, but they could enhance themselves through self-cultivation and could train in different systems.
For example, one doppelgänger could solely focus on swordsmanship, while another could concentrate on Vibrational Force.
In this regard, Lian Yun's first thought was that some low-level Dungeons were inaccessible to high-level individuals. Originally, Lian Yun had planned to lower his realm and then venture in to gain ranking, but there would inevitably be traces left behind that would reveal his anomaly.
However, if it were a doppelgänger that entered, perhaps no one would notice any irregularities.
Additionally, the Three Golden Hairs were a Soul Body and could absorb Purple Qi for cultivation, essentially allowing these Three Golden Hairs to be cultivated into an Immortal Body.
Moreover, if the Three Golden Hairs could be cultivated, it meant gaining three additional experiences from zero to Peak of Kings. Coupled with the ability to compress realms within the Yin-Yang Stage, Lian Yun's main body wouldn't need to remain stagnant. After breaking through in the future, he could directly return to Peak of Kings.
Although each doppelgänger would have its unique applications, the fact that all these methods coincidentally aligned so perfectly must be attributed to the special favor of the Emperor.
