Chapter Lin Xiaoyao Calls Lian Yun
Overall, there are many Ranking Lists in Yin Yang City that make life quite exciting.
However, the city's Ranking Lists primarily offer rewards in Spirit Coins, while only the unified rankings of the Twelve Cities provide rewards in Honor Points.
First, there are three basic lists: speed, strength, and defense, which can be accessed by receiving a quest from an official in the city and then undergoing a test.
In terms of speed, there was no doubt. Lian Yun used the Sword Control Technique to complete the challenge, finishing three seconds faster than the previous record holder.
With strength at the Peak of Kings, a difference of one-tenth of a second represents a significant gap; three seconds is even more pronounced. Thus, Lian Yun, as the top contender, should be able to maintain this position for quite some time without being surpassed. The reward for each duration held is three hundred honor points and Three Thousand White Spirit Coins.
Although strength is not Lian Yun's specialty, he utilized his sword-drawing technique to take on the challenge, achieving a score that exceeded the previous record by one-tenth. However, he could not guarantee how long this would last since individuals with exceptional strength could experience explosive growth after breaking through at any stage.
The rewards for first place are the same as those for the speed Ranking List.
In defense, Lian Yun fell slightly short. After all, this test measured personal physical endurance. Although he mimicked the Insect Emperor to create a Vibrational Force shield for himself, it was still unstable and not very strong. Ultimately, he ranked sixth, earning only one hundred fifty honor points and one thousand five hundred White Spirit Coins.
The above are merely individual basic rankings; next come the lists for Ghost Slave and Human Slave. There were no points for Lian Yun in the Human Slave category, and he did not attempt the Ghost Slave list either.
While Yang Zai Xing is formidable, he has yet to reach the level of a High-Level Monarch. It is believed that within the Twelve Cities, there are certainly individuals capable of summoning powerful Ghost Slaves.
To keep a trump card up his sleeve, Lian Yun chose not to challenge this list.
Then came several tower challenges to assess overall personal strength.

Thus, Lian Yun could be quite certain that this Lian Yun referred to his cousin, Lin Xiaoyao.

However, Lin Xiaoyao might still be busy climbing the tower since there was no response.

Lian Yun had taken a shortcut here; he had acquired information and strategies for the first forty levels of the BSS at a high price from Tian Shouhua.
This was the advantage of having power. If Lian Yun were alone, he would either have to charge up the tower directly or find someone with strategies to purchase them, wasting an unknown amount of time in the process.
However, at first, Lian Yun did not look at the strategies. Instead, he gathered his strength and used the Sword Control Technique to rush straight to the thirty-fourth level, where he eliminated all enemies in an instant. The thirty-fifth level featured a BSS with strong defenses, so Lian Yun could not defeat it immediately. Nevertheless, with Yang Zai Xing's help and after consulting the strategy, he managed to take it down on his second attempt.
After the thirty-fifth level, each BSS seemed to double in strength, becoming increasingly difficult. After swiftly defeating the thirty-eighth level, Lian Yun could no longer eliminate BSSs in one hit. For the fortieth level, he enlisted Zhao Jinlong, Zhao Jinhui, and Black Capital to fight alongside him, but it still took them thirty minutes to win. After reviewing the strategy and attempting it twice more, they managed to reduce the time to twenty minutes.
On his fourth attempt, Lian Yun employed his own method: he first filled his body with spiritual energy and then had the Twelve Fierce Warriors hold off the BSS while he and Yang Zai Xing launched desperate attacks. The remaining Ghost Slaves attacked with all their might, which ultimately reduced their time to five minutes.
At this point, Lian Yun had secured first place on the Ranking List for all forty levels.
Beyond the fortieth level lay Split Tree Ridge. Although some had succeeded in challenging it, many on the Ranking List had times that ranged from one or two minutes to two or three minutes—likely grinding down the BSS over time.
Considering this, Lian Yun thought for a moment before charging through two more levels but then decided to stop temporarily. The time required for future challenges would be too long without relevant strategies. Although the rewards would be greater, Lian Yun planned to secure a decent rank on other Ranking Lists first.
Even though Lian Yun had not reached the highest level of forty-five that others could achieve, Twelve Cities was already buzzing with excitement.
