Chapter 69: Magnanimity
Yao Yun'er initially thought her senior brother would ignore the general, but just as she was about to speak up, she realized her senior brother had already approached the general.
Thus, the two powerhouses, ranked first and second in Yin Yang City and above Peak Monarch, took up positions on either side, escorting the three beauties forward.
Yao Yun'er felt a bit surprised, while within the Xianjian Sect, jaws dropped all around. Many eyes widened in disbelief, and swords fell to the ground in abundance.
Lian Yun, however, paid no mind to this spectacle. With a wave of his hand, he summoned dozens of Soul Swords, enlarging the Soul Sword seats to make it more comfortable for the three beauties to sit.
With no clear destination in mind, Lian Yun asked, "Yooner, do you know of any picturesque places nearby?"
"There is a scenic spot three hundred miles beyond the Sect, but there are quite a few fifty-level Chaos Beasts there."
Fifty-level Chaos Beasts were roughly at the Medium Monarch level. Except for Meng Yixuan, they posed no problem for Lian Yun and his companions. However, the general said, "We should prepare some food and drink first before heading out. Hmm!"
Although Lian Yun, Xiao Jun, and Yao Yun'er were not particularly fond of indulging in food and drink, considering that Meng Yixuan had little cultivation level, eating and drinking were essential. Thus, Lian Yun decided to return to Chang'an City first.
However, their route was not the same as before; they took a detour to enjoy more scenery along the way.
Upon arriving in Luoyang City, the general said, "My senior sister enjoys tea. You all go to Fragrant Pavilion and get some tea. I'll find some food myself. By the way, do you want any alcohol?"
In the past, Lian Yun would have refused alcohol. But now? It was a rare opportunity to relax—perhaps the most relaxed moment in three or four years—so Lian Yun nodded and said, "It's fine."
Having it or not having it was both acceptable.
The general's eyes lit up before he spread his hands with a look of grievance and said, "I'm broke! I've used up all my Spirit Coins."
Yao Yun'er was quite surprised, but Meng Yixuan seemed prepared and handed the general a pouch of coins. However, the general took a glance at it and then extended his hand towards Lian Yun, saying, "Some delicacies can only be bought with Diamond Spirit Coins."
The general was already drooling, seemingly imagining some rare or previously untried delicacy.
Lian Yun waved three hundred Diamond Spirit Coins, displaying a wealth that seemed almost excessive. Of course, the main purpose was to provide the general with resources for future cultivation.
"I'll go too. Brother Yun, while this stool is quite suitable, it might not be very comfortable for Dream Sister! I'll find a more comfortable chair," he said.
"I'm fine," Meng Yixuan replied with a light laugh.
However, Yao Yun'er insisted, and since Lian Yun did not object, the general and Yao Yun'er left together. Meanwhile, Lian Yun, Xiao Jun, and Meng Yixuan headed towards the so-called Fragrant Pavilion.
Meng Yixuan led the way, clearly familiar with Fragrant Pavilion.
After leaving Central Square and walking through several streets, they finally arrived at the city lord's estate wall where Fragrant Pavilion was located. The establishment was not large; five stories tall but not grandiose, it exuded an air of elegance and tranquility. The doorman at the entrance was a person of refined demeanor.
If it weren't for his slightly bowing attitude, no one would have guessed he was a servant of Fragrant Pavilion.
Upon seeing Lian Yun and the others, the doorman's eyes brightened instantly before he turned to enter. As Lian Yun and the others reached the entrance, a refined middle-aged man approached with a smile and said softly, "I see that today is filled with joy because three esteemed guests have graced us with their presence. I apologize for not welcoming you properly; I hope you will forgive me."
"Master Zhen Dao is being polite. We have come merely to request some tea to take away," Lian Yun replied.
"Ah! Dream Girl, why not sit inside for a while? I've been meaning to catch up since it's been so long since I've seen you," he suggested warmly.
"I plan to go out for some fun today and won't stay long. Next time I will definitely visit Sister Yuying," she promised.
"How could you come here without informing your sister? It's quite rude!" A sweet, soft voice filled with joy and dissatisfaction came from behind the crowd.
Immediately after, there was a loud thud as someone knelt down, their tone filled with terror and sincerity. "I sincerely apologize for any offense caused to Young Master Yun! Please forgive me this once."
Lian Yun turned around with a slight frown; the kneeling person was none other than Ximen Qianlie.
"Did my servant offend Young Master Yun? If so, I ask for your forgiveness on their behalf. It was a misunderstanding upon our first meeting. This person is at your mercy; what do you think, Young Master Yun?"
A seductive woman, exuding charm from her very core, gazed at Lian Yun with sparkling eyes.
Noticing Meng Yixuan's momentary confusion, Lian Yun paused before saying, "I swear that in this lifetime, I will not leave Yin Yang City and will not harm those who are friendly to me. As for past grievances, I can overlook them."
Ximen Qianlie, who had been filled with rage and ready to fight to the death, suddenly looked up in disbelief.
Lian Yun turned away, no longer paying attention.
If Taiwu had not revived, Lian Yun would have certainly dealt with Ximen Qianlie without mercy. He might have even agreed to some unreasonable demands from the woman named Yuying just to eliminate Ximen Qianlie.
However, now he didn't want to put Meng Yixuan in a difficult position. As long as Ximen Qianlie did not harm his friends, he truly did not care whether Ximen Qianlie lived or died.
"Young Master Yun truly has a magnanimous heart. You should thank Young Master Yun for sparing your life," Yuying said, her voice slightly stern but laced with a charming tone that hinted at her protective feelings for Ximen Qianlie.
Yet Ximen Qianlie sat there in confusion, staring blankly at the sky.
The woman nearly lost her temper but didn't want to show her vulnerable side. She stomped her foot and grabbed Meng Yixuan's arm, her expression filled with extreme grievance.
Meng Yixuan looked seriously at Lian Yun, noticing that Lian Yun truly seemed unconcerned. She gently stroked the young woman's hand and comforted her, "Sister, don't be anxious. Perhaps your guard just needs some time to think it over. How about we go out and have some fun together later?"
"Yay, that sounds great! I've met Young Master Yun and Young Master Xiao," Xi Men Yu Ying exclaimed. Before she could finish her sentence, her alluring figure nearly pressed against Lian Yun.
Knowing Xi Men Yu Ying's character well, Meng Yixuan quickly pulled her back and scolded, "You mustn't make a move on my Yun Di."
"Why not? If you won't eat it, can’t I have a bite?"
"No way! My Yun Di already has someone special in mind."
"Are they married? If not, it doesn't count as cheating!"
"You know what? I don't care about anyone else, but you absolutely cannot make a move on my brother."
"Alright, alright! Don't be angry, sister. I understand. But if Young Master Yun makes a move on me, then it's not my fault!"
"Hmph! As long as you don’t make a move, that’s fine."
The two seemed like true best friends, chatting away without a care for anyone around them.
