Chapter 4: The Gap Between People
The actions of someone like Qin Jiuwang, who sought the Many-Child Demon Mother, were naturally seen as disgraceful. Yet, the world was eager to obtain both the Many-Child Demon Mother and Ghost Slave.
It was known that with the characteristics of the Many-Child Demon Mother, as long as she was well protected, it was almost equivalent to having an endless army at one's disposal.

"If you trust me... well, I don't need your trust. After all, you have no other options at this moment, do you? If you wish for freedom, then sign the contract, and soon I will send you to Yin City."
With that, Lian Yun took off the Ghost Group Ring from his chest and tossed it directly beneath the Thirty-Two Ghost Mothers.
Indeed, as Lian Yun stated, if they did not make a decision, they would either face death or continue being enslaved. Thus, thirty-one Ghost Slaves immediately agreed to the contract and disregarded the Demon Mother as they rushed into the Ghost Group Ring.

After a while, the Demon Mother's belly suddenly stirred, and then the Nine Ghost Children lined up in a row, their eyes also filled with hatred as they looked at Lian Yun.
Yet the Demon Mother asked: "Even if anyone else cannot distinguish between them, can you tell them apart?"
"The Nine Offspring are stillborn; there is actually no distinction among them," the Demon Mother said after transforming into a Spirit. She could sense that there was first and then second. This perception stemmed from a maternal instinct rather than knowledge or soul.
Lian Yun did not understand why the Demon Mother wanted him to distinguish between the Nine Offspring. However, since she asked, he carefully observed the nearly identical Nine Ghost Children.
For some reason, a feeling that Master Mo had once imparted flashed through his mind and then vanished. Following that, Lian Yun naturally came to understand the distinctions among the Nine Ghost Children.
Although Lian Yun felt a bit perplexed, he still waved his hand to arrange the Nine Ghost Children in order.

"Do you look down on me and my children? Do you pity us?" the Demon Mother hissed, her eyes filled with even more hatred than before, embodying a volatile temperament.
Yet Lian Yun remained calm and replied, "With your current strength, how could anyone look down on you? As for pity, I don't know how to interpret that. I just hope you won't kill indiscriminately and that you won't continue to suffer."
"Will you accept me or not!" the Demon Mother said coldly, her tone carrying an implicit threat as if she were ready to fight to the death.
This made many Peerless Monarchs and leaders of Major Powers gasp in astonishment.
For others to encounter the Many-Child Demon Mother was already a rare occurrence; to subdue her was even more unlikely. The probability could be less than one in a million.
And what about Lian Yun? Not only did he gain the strongest Nine Sons Ghost Mother, but he was also being coerced into accepting her.
Some Peerless Monarchs couldn't help but lament internally about the vast disparity between people.
In truth, Lian Yun really didn't want to accept this Demon Mother. He felt that she had already suffered enough. Even if they signed a contract, he wouldn't let her fight; binding her to himself seemed less humane than allowing her to live freely.

The hatred-filled eyes of the Demon Mother flashed with a moment of daze, but she snorted coldly. Then ten clouds floated from her brow, leaving Lian Yun and all observers puzzled.
The nine children within the Ghost Mother of Nine Sons could only be considered a part of the Demon Mother's 'flesh'—a fragment of her Soul Body. Although they possessed some awareness, it wasn't self-awareness; they were essentially shards of the Demon Mother's soul and were incomplete.
Thus, when the Demon Mother released ten clouds, it was equivalent to signing a Tenfold Contract with Lian Yun.
This gave rise to several thoughts.
First, the Demon Mother was fully devoted to Lian Yun. Under the Tenfold Contract, she couldn't even muster the heart to rebel against him.
Second, they were bound together in life and death. If Lian Yun wanted to abandon her, he would have to dissolve the ten contracts. In doing so, even if it meant harming the Demon Mother, Lian Yun would suffer significant damage as well.
Third, it was possible that the Demon Mother regarded her Nine Offspring as people and expected Lian Yun to treat them as such, dividing his attention among nine individuals.
However, this meant that if Lian Yun wished to grant her freedom, it wouldn't come easily.

She resembled a lioness who had just lost her cub, seeing a puppy and treating it as her own child—she regarded Big Head as her offspring.
