Chapter 55: A Wish of Emperor Yi
When it comes to great figures in Huaxia, aside from the Eternal Emperor and the Peerless Demon Master, the first name that comes to mind is Emperor Yi. However, Lian Yun had encountered the Azure Dragon, and since Emperor Yi was rumored to have died nearly a hundred years ago, Lian Yun initially did not make the connection.
Yet, the old man, being a person from Huaxia, was aware of his existence. In an instant, Lian Yun thought of that individual who shared the same Yin-Yang Stage as himself—Emperor Yi.
The old man did not seem surprised that Lian Yun could guess his identity. He nodded and gestured for Lian Yun to sit on a nearby wooden stool.
He also took a seat on another stool, looking kindly at Lian Yun with a hint of satisfaction as he observed him.
Despite his shock, Lian Yun sat down and slightly lowered his head.
Emperor Yi's gaze eventually settled on Lian Yun's abdomen. After a long moment, he suddenly seemed to come to a realization: "No wonder."
Lian Yun lifted his head slightly, his eyes filled with confusion.
Logically, Emperor Yi should understand the Yin-Yang Stage better than he did; why would he say "no wonder"?
"I cultivated alone to the Monarch level back then, while the Yin-Yang Stage remained hidden within me, unknown. After using it, it simply vanished without a trace."
Lian Yun's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Could it be that my endowment is actually different from yours?"
Emperor Yi nodded and shook his head: "It is both similar and different! Perhaps the Yin-Yang Stage was originally meant to be a breaking and then rebuilding process. If one merely intends to use it as a last resort, it may lead to more losses than gains."
"Take me for example; I am already a Second-Rank Monarch, and my Dantian has long been opened, completely separate from the Yin-Yang Stage. That is why it disappears after use. You, on the other hand, used it while still in the King's Realm, without having opened your Dantian. After activating the Yin-Yang Stage and advancing to the Emperor Realm, it subtly transferred to your Dantian, resulting in a Dantian that is entirely different from that of ordinary people."
This explanation made sense, yet it was still somewhat difficult to grasp.
"However, if the ability to elevate one's power by an entire rank were to recover, what changes would occur after its next use remains unknown," Emperor Yi said with interest, smiling at Lian Yun.
It seemed he was quite intrigued by the Yin-Yang Stage and wanted to learn more about it.
Yet Lian Yun furrowed his brow slightly, puzzled. "Senior, now..."
"My physical body is lost; how can there be a physical endowment?" Emperor Yi replied with a smile.
Lian Yun nodded but found himself at a loss for words, unsure how to continue the conversation.
Emperor Yi, however, appeared quite casual as he chuckled lightly. "I imagine your mind is filled with questions. But I do not wish to explain too much to you; otherwise, you might ponder even more. Consider this as my desire to understand more about the characteristics of the Yin-Yang Stage, fulfilling a certain regret!"
Lian Yun nodded. Although he had many questions and was eager for answers, he did not want to press further since the other party seemed unwilling to elaborate.
After all, this person was indeed a true emperor now.
"Today, I merely hope you can set aside some of your distractions and focus on your growth; there are no other matters at hand."
Lian Yun nodded and stood up, bowing respectfully. "Then I shall take my leave."
However, as Lian Yun turned around, he suddenly asked, "May I ask when you arrived at Yin Yang City?"
"You want to know if the Nirvana Organization was established by me, right?"
Lian Yun nodded.
Although Emperor Yi did not show a hint of regret, given his desire to learn more about the characteristics of the Yin-Yang Stage, he must have had a method in mind to restore his physical form.
Perhaps it was about transforming a ghost back into a human!
Emperor Yi remained calm and nodded, saying, "Firstly, it's to give those who possess the Yin-Yang Stage a chance, like you. Secondly, I am also looking for a way to restore my physical body. However, I won't force it."
After all, he was now a true emperor.
Lian Yun nodded and then left.
As he walked through the streets of the imperial city, Lian Yun fell into deep thought.
To be honest, Lian Yun had never expected Emperor Yi to appear so abruptly. But after confirming that Old Farmer was indeed Emperor Yi, he first thought of Emperor Yi's purpose in nurturing him; it was very likely that he intended to seize his physical body once he had grown stronger.
However, as he interacted with Emperor Yi, he realized that although the emperor was eager to understand more about the Yin-Yang Stage's characteristics, he did not seem to have any desire for possession. It was unclear whether he was simply good at hiding his intentions or if there was something else at play.
Lian Yun only knew that the other party would not harm him.
With that, Lian Yun was filled with more questions. If Emperor Yi wanted to understand the Yin-Yang Stage, why would he not stay in Yin Yang City but instead help him leave?
Could it be related to the grand formation that the Peerless Demon Master was about to set up?
Were the Three Great Emperors conspiring about something?
In the past, Lian Yun might not have thought this way. But now that he knew that Huaxia actually had four great emperors, completely unafraid of the Demon Realm, why would the Peerless Demon Master still set up a formation? What was the purpose?
This was Lian Yun's newfound confusion.
However, he had yet to reach the level of an emperor, so he couldn't make sense of it all. As he arrived at the Teleportation Array, he could only shake his head and not dwell on it further.
There were still about three months left, and besides his life-and-death duel with Qin Kui, Lian Yun had several other matters to attend to.
There was Lan Ruoxuan, a solo performance to arrange, addressing the body issues of Four Gates Jade Reflection, ensuring Meng Yixuan's safety, and forging the Half-Emperor Set in exchange for the Yin Yang Guqin.
But none of these things were urgent.
Lian Yun had already decided to leave two clones in Yin Yang City, which would give him enough time to complete everything at a leisurely pace.
However, he had made an agreement with Lan Ruoxuan to perform Frosty Cold Realm for him before July. Thus, Lian Yun sent Yan and Le along with all the Ghost Slaves to Yin City for training.
Of course, Hei was still unwilling to leave Lian Yun's main body and could only follow him back to Xianyang City, where he gathered the main members of his Cloud Realm.
Ma Wenlong, Song Hansong, Tian Shou, and Luo Qingyi stood before Lian Yun, their expressions tinged with disappointment as they lowered their heads slightly. It seemed they all understood the purpose of Lian Yun's summons.
However, Lian Yun merely smiled calmly and said, "Today, things are not as you expected."
The four of them raised their heads simultaneously, their expressions filled with confusion.
"When I left back then, I entrusted the Cloud Realm to you completely. I do not need to swear to this; it would also allow you to seek protection from powerful forces like the Xianjian Sect, Yaochi, or even other major powers. Given my current standing, I believe they would be willing to accept you."
"If you wish to be independent, I can make a trip for you."
The four of them shook their heads slightly. Then Ma Wenlong stepped forward and respectfully said, "Our Cloud Realm has now discovered thousands of people. Although it's not a large number, they are all considered elites. While we may not be strong yet, we no longer wish to live under someone else's roof."
"My subordinates have inquired multiple times with the underground members, and nearly all of them believe that you alone are the Realm Master of Cloud Realm and do not wish to serve anyone else."
"What do you four think?" Lian Yun's expression suddenly grew cold.
