The clock read nine fifty-five, just five minutes away from their scheduled meeting.
Yang Baicheng felt a surge of excitement as he fiddled with his phone, glancing occasionally at the dark screen. Yet, his mind wandered elsewhere, lost in thoughts he couldn't quite articulate.
