In reality, out of respect for beautiful women and the overwhelming secretion of male hormones, there are probably very few men who can act normally when faced with an exceptionally stunning woman.
Take Ye Kai, for example.
Even though he wasn't the type to be completely paralyzed by the sight of a woman, he couldn't help but admire her. This woman was exceptional in every way—her figure, her looks, her demeanor, and even her intellect were all top-notch. One could even describe her as a "rare beauty."
He had initially thought this delicate girl would either cry or scream like a fool, but to his surprise, she remained calm and composed.
For this, he gave her high praise—definitely a good review!
Thus, he forgot about his mission and even lost track of the fact that he was at the Milwaukee shopping center, where the protagonists of New Dawn of the Dead were gazing up at Hope.
"According to the Book of Ice Lancer, during a Magic Energy experiment thirty thousand years ago, we discovered this original... world. At that time, we had an extremely advanced Magic Energy civilization and had already explored the existence of Alternate Dimensions hundreds of thousands of years ago..."
"As a result, some powerful Mage Envoys began to cross Dimensions on their own... Faced with such astonishing abilities, everyone believed they had surpassed the limits of 'humanity' and could be called: gods!"
"Gods?!"
Ye Kai suddenly squinted his eyes. He felt that this Ice Lancer was indeed a fascinating Dimension with beings capable of traversing Dimensions, yet they couldn't even produce spaceships or Battleships!
This left him with a subtle sense of dissonance!
A million years ago, there were alchemical puppets; hundreds of thousands of years ago, they could traverse Dimensions; thirty thousand years ago, they discovered this world. Yet now it had all declined—can you believe it?
Could this girl be testing his intelligence?
Was she preparing to recruit a consort!?
For a moment, Ye Kai felt quite excited.
"Yes, gods!!!"
Cecilia's tone became serious. Her strikingly blue eyes held unwavering determination and gravity as she continued, "However, suddenly a disaster struck—a group of evil deities also discovered Ice Lancer..."
Ye Kai felt an overwhelming urge to mock the few noble and aloof individuals before him, as this was precisely the kind of story he often crafted to deal with the natives of other Dimensions.
However, upon seeing the faces of the Four Knights and the burly werewolf filled with anger and sorrow, his curiosity was piqued once again.
Thus, he refrained from interrupting what was clearly a lackluster story that didn’t even reach a climax and was riddled with clichés.
It was the Mage Envoy, an old man, who glanced at him thoughtfully, but Ye Kai was too engrossed in the beauty before him to care.
Alice No. 1's face flushed slightly. Although she wanted to remind him, she had come to understand her master’s interests well enough. So, unless there was something truly significant to say, she decided it was best to remain silent.
Otherwise, the thought of embarrassing punishments made her shy; oh dear, what was Alice thinking…
Cecilia finally revealed a hint of sadness in her eyes. She gently bit her lip and spoke in a much lower tone, “However, time is the most ruthless thing; it can erase everything without leaving a trace.”
“Just like in that devastating war, what we lost was not just the protection of the gods but also the vast land we relied on for survival.”
“Six thousand years ago, a terrifying curse erupted during the Twilight of the Gods. This powerful curse swept across the Ice Lancer Continent, just as it did in your world, erasing our glory mercilessly and leaving behind endless pain and devastation.”
“Wait!”
Ye Kai straightened up slightly and said solemnly, “Are you saying that the curse your world suffered is similar to that of these people below?”
“Yes, esteemed warrior.”
Cecilia nodded affirmatively. “Although there are significant differences, I can sense that they are likely afflicted by the same curse.”
The same curse?
Heh…
Could it be that this girl really intends to spin a tale to deceive me?
If it’s akin to the Unknown Virus infection in this Dimension, then what about the Biochemical Crisis Dimension?
"What about 'I Am Legend,' 'The Walking Dead,' and 'World War Z'?"
"Are they all affected by this so-called curse?"
"What a frustrating setup!"
"If this story didn't come from the mouth of a big American, Ye Kai would definitely point at that person and say lightly, 'You call the screenwriter out here, I guarantee I won't kill him.'"
"Isn't this just nonsense coming from nowhere?"
With a disdainful curl of his lip, Ye Kai waved his hand to interrupt Cecilia, who was about to continue, then slightly turned to Alice and said, "Go, bring me a sample of the virus."
Galastad was furious and was about to stand up to scold them when he was quickly restrained by Alex. This wasn't their territory; being reckless could lead to serious trouble.
Cecilia also shook her head slightly, signaling everyone not to act rashly. In fact, she felt a bit anxious.
But as a princess, especially one who had to take risks to find a glimmer of hope for her race's survival in this world, she had long set aside her pride.
In just about two minutes, Alice returned, almost transforming into a blur.
'What immense mental power!'
Cecilia raised her eyebrows in surprise as she glanced at Alice.
Ye Kai gestured with his chin for Alice to hand over the virus on the tray to the Ice Lancers.
"Isn't it easy to make up stories? Let's see how you spin this. We can mass-produce viruses here; I want to see if you can sense this 'curse'!"
When Cecilia saw the test tube emitting a captivating blue halo on the tray, her dual eyes suddenly narrowed in shock, nearly gasping aloud.
She forced herself to suppress her astonishment, gripping her fists tightly to calm down before speaking with a voice still trembling slightly, "Mr. Alex, you should take a look too; Leah seems uncertain."
In reality, not just Alex but everyone else stared in shock at the virus on the tray, unable to regain their composure for quite some time.
Seeing the unexpected scene, Ye Kai furrowed his brows and muttered to himself, "Could it be that this virus is really that curse? Or perhaps it's related to that curse?"
Virus, curse?
Although Ye Kai didn't fully understand what a curse was, he could at least grasp a bit of it in this age of information explosion.
But a virus should have something to do with...
Damn it, he had felt that something was off earlier, but he couldn't quite figure out what it was.
Now he suddenly recalled that in the history of Magic Energy development in Million Years, could it really be that they couldn't even establish a hospital?
What kind of bizarre world is this?
This world seems to be developing far too casually!
This strange world is truly frustrating!
Ye Kai was completely bewildered...
