O'Hare International Airport, once the largest airport in Chicago, had now transformed into a temporary military base. A steady stream of transport trucks and aircraft were taking off and landing almost every moment.
On the ground, troop carriers sped towards the outskirts of Chicago, while various models of fighter jets and helicopters roared overhead, their thunderous sounds drowning out everything nearby.
This special operation was personally led by Colonel Diallo, whose eyes burned with intense fury at that moment.
He could hardly contain his anger towards those idiots who only knew how to complain about insufficient funding.
Of course, he was even more furious with the so-called mad scientists from the highest laboratory, who couldn’t even manage a single computer. It was outrageous that one computer program had managed to seize control of over a dozen cities in just a few hours!
It was utterly ridiculous—idiots!
Once everyone was assembled, he bellowed, “Get your act together! This time, we must take on those tin cans. If any of you embarrass me, don’t blame me for yanking your head off and stuffing it up your backside! Do you understand?”
“Yes, sir!”
“I can’t hear you! Are you all just babies sucking on milk?”
“Yes, sir!!!”
This time, everyone truly put their all into their shouts, their voices hoarse from the effort.
“Bang!!!”
The conference room door was kicked open with a loud crash, and a grim-faced middle-aged man strode in, flanked by a dozen fully armed soldiers.
Faced with Colonel Diallo's furious gaze, the man nonchalantly pulled out an authorization letter and quickly stated, "Colonel Diallo, I am in command here now, do you understand?"
"Yes, sir!"
Upon seeing the signature on the authorization letter, Diallo's pupils suddenly constricted. He realized that if he did not cooperate properly, his military career could very well come to an end.
"Immediately seal off all of Chicago. I want all Special Operations Team members fully armed at once!"
"Notify the Navy to block the waters within three hundred kilometers of Chicago. No flies are to enter or leave."
"Inform all our personnel in Chicago—remember, all personnel, whether agents or soldiers on leave—that a top-level wartime military order has been issued. They must locate Codename 11."
As this shadowy man issued a series of commands, everyone in the operations command room dedicated to the Special Operations Team began to spring into action.
"Did everyone understand? This is our objective; we must bring him back. Get the equipment ready immediately. Don’t make me come over there and kick your butts, got it? Move now!!!"
Colonel Diallo slammed his fists together, angrily roaring for his team to don the cutting-edge exoskeleton armor provided by the military laboratory.
"Go! Go! Go!"
With his voice booming like a horn, all team members quickly boarded their respective vehicles—ten seemingly heavy but actually advanced troop transporters.
With a series of loud clangs as the doors were shut, these tank-like behemoths roared to life, their engines growling violently as they surged out of the airport one after another.
“Attention all citizens of Chicago, attention all citizens of Chicago.”
“Please return to your residences immediately, please return to your residences immediately.”
“Citizens remaining on the streets ten minutes after the alarm sounds will be considered criminals ‘about to participate in a terrorist attack.’ Those who do not choose to surrender after receiving three warnings will be subject to immediate execution.”
Upon hearing the city’s air raid siren, Ye Kai immediately set down the struggling child and warned, “If you move again, I’ll strip you of your pants and hang you up here.”
He then shouted at the three individuals who had awakened several dozen meters away, “Are you three still not getting up? Do I need to come over and help you?”
Ye Yi, Ye Er, and Alice No. 1 shuffled over, each with their heads drooping and looking listless, which made Ye Kai both amused and exasperated.
When did this group of Bio Warriors become so ‘human’?
All three of them possessed incredibly strong psychokinesis; how could they be so easily taken down?
“Tch! With these three big idiots trying to catch me? Those stupid robots are even dumber; I took down twenty of them by myself.”
“Hmm?”
Noticing that the three were glaring at the child in embarrassment, Ye Kai frowned slightly and turned to look at the disdainful figure a few meters away, asking, “You took down twenty NS-5 robots by yourself? Kid, do you know the story of Pinocchio?”
“Are we lying to each other? You foolish Earthling!”
"Stupid... Earthling?" Ye Kai exclaimed, pointing at his own nose in disbelief. "Are you talking about me?"
"Indeed, an Idiot!"
Number 11 had already overestimated the man before him, but he never expected his intelligence to be so low that he couldn't even understand such a straightforward conversation and had to ask.
Ye Kai didn't want to bother with that arrogant creature anymore; instead, he turned to Alice and the other two with a mix of disbelief and mockery. "You three are supposed to be elite warriors, yet you got taken down by such a thing. If this gets out, I'll be embarrassed..."
"The key is that the guy had something in his hand that emitted white light. We were all caught off guard and then hit by some kind of hypnotic projectile..." Ye Yi said, sounding somewhat aggrieved.
Upon hearing this, Ye Kai's eyes widened even more as a thought struck him, immobilizing the brat who was trying to make a move nearby. "What did he have in his hand?"
"It was just a..."
Before they could finish, Ye Kai spotted something very peculiar. It was indeed an egg, but it was embedded in a beautifully crafted music box.
At that moment, it was already half-open.
Number 11 suddenly realized he might have underestimated these foolish Earthlings, especially the one who had taken the Blazing Egg from him. He angrily shouted, "Stupid Earthling! How dare you treat me like this? When your leader arrives, they'll kick your butt!"
Ye Kai felt a wave of frustration wash over him. His leader?
Well then!
It turned out this guy was actually a descendant of some high-ranking leader or perhaps even an alien himself.
He stepped forward and knocked him on the forehead, threatening, "You’re captured now, yet you still act so arrogant!"
"Do you dare to hit me?"
Number 11 was stunned; this was the first time in his life he had been struck, and by a foolish Earthling at that.
Ye Kai had already decided to ignore this creature because what mattered more now was understanding what was happening.
"Alice, report to Lord God immediately. A large armed force is approaching within thirty kilometers of the outskirts of Chicago!"
After Alice took out her mobile terminal, the face of WIKI flashed onto the screen, urgently speaking, "A very powerful intelligent program has begun to invade. Please, Lord God, evacuate immediately... crackle... evacuate... crackle..."
"Master, a massive armed force has surrounded Chicago!"
Alice 1 also realized the situation was dire. She stepped forward and displayed the projected terrain map sent by WIKI, exclaiming, "This time, we received no prior warning. It seems that those behind the scenes are preparing to launch a full-scale attack on us."
"All enemy forces have stationed themselves thirty kilometers outside the suburbs. Our situation is quite precarious, and WIKI has already been compromised by a powerful intelligent program. Although there have been no losses on the robotic side, if this continues, our position will become extremely passive."
