Watching the two chestnut horses bolt in fear from the werewolves that erupted from the ground, Ye Kai unleashed a powerful strike that instantly took down three Mutated Werewolves. However, he soon sensed a chilling and bloody aura approaching.
"Who are you?" Sonia shouted as she slashed down a werewolf while riding her horse.
"Ahhh..."
At that moment, a piercing scream erupted from the slaves locked behind the carriage.
"Damn it!!!"
Before Sonia could receive an answer, a group of werewolves lunged into the crowd of slaves, but then she was startled again.
From the nearby thicket, five figures suddenly emerged, each wielding a large two-handed sword. With swift and brutal efficiency, they chopped several Alpha Wolves into pieces as if they were slicing vegetables.
"Awwooo..."
Amidst the splattering blood, Ye Kai leaped onto the carriage, lightly tapped on the side of the cart, and called out loudly, "My lord, we are Bounty Hunters. Therefore, for your and your family's safety, I believe you wouldn't mind parting with a little wealth, would you?"

As more werewolves appeared, Wood and his companions began to feel the pressure mounting. Yet, despite the situation, Ye Kai's choice to negotiate brought a slight sense of relief to the Plump Noble Lord inside the carriage.
Under the siege of so many werewolves, remaining so calm while demanding a reward was not something an ordinary person could achieve. Without hesitation, he agreed and tossed out a bag of gems.
"Eh!?"
As Ye Kai took the gems, a sudden seriousness filled his eyes. While watching movies, he hadn’t found this scene strange, but now he finally understood why the werewolves had suddenly attacked this noble.
"Nightmare Space Special Notice: You have discovered the witch's secret."
"Quest Name: Investigate the Witch Hidden Among the Nobles."

Ye Kai's eye twitched. This Nightmare Space must be a joke!
I discovered something ridiculous!?
This quest was clearly a trap, and it even straightforwardly told you it was a trap. There were no time limits for the quest and no penalties for failure—how could that be?
But this was just the beginning of investigating the witch; if he truly accepted the mission, who knew what kind of trouble he would encounter!
To his surprise, the Fat Noble's Daughter turned out to be a dark witch, and a powerful one at that.
If it weren't for the divine reminder, if he didn't possess the Ability, he would never have noticed that thin strand of something bizarre, almost like a living creature, clinging to a hair.

Ye Kai made his decision in just a few seconds.
After all, the werewolves posed little threat to him, and he could earn a hefty sum of Evolution Points. As for the rewards after completing the mission, they probably wouldn't be as valuable as what he could gain during it!
He raised his head and looked around, realizing that chaos had erupted all around him.
In just a short time, more and more werewolves had appeared. Under the full moon's light, their ferocity surged, and their power and Agility were quite astonishing!
However, due to their frenzied state, these Low-Level Werewolves had a clear flaw: when they focused on attacking one target, they often overlooked others nearby.
The group led by Wood was well aware of this fact. They worked together efficiently and had already taken down at least a dozen Alpha Wolves in just a few minutes.
The ground was littered with severed limbs and blood, with several dismembered arms and legs nearby letting out pitiful cries.
"Chilly..."
At that moment, shadows darted out from the dense forest again, accompanied by heavy panting and alternating low growls and high-pitched roars.
Seeing Sonia had also arrived near the carriage, Ye Kai's lips curled slightly as he leaped forward, launching himself directly into the pack of wolves emerging from the forest.

In that moment, he transformed into a phantom, darting through the numerous werewolves at a speed almost impossible to discern with the naked eye. Blood rained down as severed wolf heads and bodies were flung far away.

Seeing the large number of gigantic Mutated Werewolves still lurking in the dense forest, Sonia's expression changed drastically as she reached the edge of the carriage.
However, when she noticed a few others still relentlessly slaying werewolves together and caught sight of Ye Kai's ghostly Speed and ease in dispatching the creatures, her face paled even further, her pupils constricting to pinpricks.
This kind of Speed was something even they, as vampires, did not possess.
It was simply astonishing!
Wood's body had already been enhanced in Nightmare Space; his physical attributes after data conversion were clearly several times stronger than those of an ordinary person. So while he couldn't see as clearly as Sonia, he could at least grasp a vague outline of the situation.
He wasn't frightened by Ye Kai's Speed; rather, upon witnessing the scene in the forest, he couldn't help but curse, “What the hell! So many werewolves, and there are even more giant wolves behind them. How are we supposed to fight this?!”
The expressions of the others were equally grim. However, seeing Ye Kai continuously reaping werewolves like a grim reaper brought them some reassurance.
