Living Funeral
The female corpse bit down hard on Ghost Old Three's neck, and in an instant, blood gushed forth!
It looked as if an artery had been severed. Ghost Old Three let out a horrific scream, his face quickly turning pale. But soon, he stifled his cries and asked, "A-Hua, why is this happening?"
What the hell, is Ghost Old Three stupid?
Asking a corpse why? Can a corpse answer you? Clearly, this female corpse saw Ghost Old Three as an enemy. Of course, in her eyes, everyone might be an enemy. Ghost Old Three was desperately trying to revive this woman named A-Hua.
But he never expected it would end like this!
Ghost Old Three's voice grew weaker and weaker, still asking why, even forgetting to struggle.
Honestly, this was the first time I had witnessed a living person die up close! The convulsions on his face made my heart race. After calling out A-Hua a few times with no response, he finally turned to me and Gao Ling, pleading, "Help me... help me..."
His voice became hoarse and weak... One hand reached out toward us, palm open, the skin appearing to age rapidly.
Gao Ling and I certainly wouldn’t save Ghost Old Three. Although he was a life too, some people really aren’t worth pitying! This was entirely his own doing!
Gao Ling and I just stood by watching. The Taoist shook his head, his expression remaining mostly unchanged.
After about a minute, the hand that had reached out to us slowly drooped down, the light in his eyes fading quickly. I could tell at a glance that Ghost Old Three was dead—finished.
Yet the female corpse still clung tightly to him. Suddenly, she began to make a sound like "guh... guh..." as if sobbing...
At that moment, the Taoist turned to me and said, "You can disperse the soul now."
I quickly followed the technique the Taoist had taught me. First, I performed a set of hand gestures, and finally, I grasped my right wrist with my left hand and extended two fingers directly towards the female corpse's forehead.
However, when I made contact, there was no scream from the corpse. Instead, she slowly turned her head to look at me. At that moment, I was so frightened that my heart nearly stopped.
I gasped in shock.
Instinctively, I pulled my hand back, but the next second, I saw the female corpse suddenly reveal a strange and stiff smile.
My hair stood on end, and I felt a wave of fear wash over me! My heart raced in panic.
Just as I was contemplating whether to run away, the Taoist said to me, "It's okay now; it's over."
"Is it really over?" I asked.
The Taoist nodded. Sure enough, I soon saw the female corpse collapse, and Ghost Old Three fell as well. However, they fell while tightly embracing each other.
Gao Ling said, "Finally, it's over!"
I let out a long breath, feeling as if half my life had been taken away. Exhausted, I collapsed onto the ground. Gao Ling then asked me, "Fei, did you just sleep with the female corpse?"
Damn it! Not only had I been 'with' the female corpse, but she had also touched and kissed me—what's more, it was a French kiss!
Thinking about this made me immediately brace myself against the ground and start to vomit. After a while of retching, I turned to Gao Ling and said, "Can we please drop this topic?"
Gao Ling chuckled and replied, "Alright, alright. But what do we do with these two corpses now?"
The perverse Ghost Old Three turned out to be a necrophiliac.
At that moment, I became a bit calmer and suddenly thought, from another perspective, perhaps this Ghost Old Three was simply too enamored with the female corpse named A-Hua. And in the end, when A-Hua flashed that eerie smile at me, could it be that she felt a sense of relief?
One was dead and the other was alive; they were ultimately on different paths. Now that both were dead, could it be considered that they had finally become a couple?
Was that smile from the female corpse a thank you for fulfilling her wishes?
Thinking about it made me shiver involuntarily.
Having been schemed against by Ghost Old Three, I not only fell victim to Corpse Poison, but I was also tricked into something sinister. Otherwise, there would be no reason for me to cough up blood out of nowhere.
I asked the Taoist priest, "What should we do now? How can we resolve this?"
The priest replied, "He has a straw man with your birth date and the female ghost's birth date on it. You need to tear off your birth date and then burn the straw man."
Listening to the priest, I quickly approached and touched the straw man. Once I found it, I burned it right there.
Then I held the birth dates of both myself and the red-clothed female ghost in my hand.
Gao Ling then asked me, "What should we do with these two corpses?"
I suggested calling the police since we hadn't committed murder anyway. Gao Ling seemed lost in thought for a moment.
I then turned to the priest and asked what would happen to my Corpse Poison. The priest told me that as a Yin-Yang Fate, Corpse Poison wouldn’t have much effect on me. Upon hearing this, my anxious heart finally settled down.
We waited there, and the police arrived quickly, led by Fu Yan, who had been investigating this case recently.
Seeing us, Fu Yan looked a bit surprised. Gao Ling said, "That woman just bit that old man to death. We barely managed to escape."
The police quickly went over to check things out. Although Gao Ling's words seemed to shift some responsibility, they were likely true; the female corpse had indeed killed Ghost Old Three, and both Gao Ling and I were injured to some extent. In the end, we had narrowly escaped disaster.
After giving a brief statement, Fu Yan let us go.
There had been similar cases before, so Fu Yan wouldn't suspect that Gao Ling and I were involved in anything suspicious. Besides, we really weren't.
Gao Ling and I got into the car and left. Since we had both sustained some injuries, we found a hospital for a simple bandaging.
The weight that had been pressing down on my heart finally lifted, and I felt much more relaxed. Once home, my first priority was to brush my teeth and take a shower. I felt nauseous; what had happened tonight was truly disgusting, something I would never forget in my life.
Gao Ling remarked, "Tonight was really thrilling! Fei, your ghost-catching skills have improved!"
Since Gao Ling was unaware of the existence of Taoists, I worried she might catch on to the truth. So I said I learned from Gao Qing. Upon hearing Gao Qing's name, Gao Ling seemed a bit displeased and started rambling on about it.
However, I was genuinely tired and chose to ignore her, heading back to my room to sleep.
After my shower and with the matters concerning Ghost Old Three and the woman in red resolved, I felt significantly lighter. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep. But in the middle of the night, I groggily sensed someone kissing me.
I suddenly opened my eyes and saw the woman in red pinning me down without any clothes on...
"Damn it," I muttered as I turned on the light. After a glance, my body reacted immediately... I mean, the woman in the red dress was a beauty! Her figure was truly exquisite, perfectly shaped in all the right places.
A pair of long legs rested on mine, and a blush appeared on her face...
In my daze, the woman in red took my hand and placed it directly on her chest. Even though she was a ghost, I could still feel my heart racing when I touched her...
I was stunned... completely bewildered. But I knew I had been overwhelmed by a ghost again...
It was utterly embarrassing...
At that moment, the ghost sweetly asked me, "Chen Lang, do you like it?"
I thought to myself: What should I say? How could I possibly say I didn't like it? I was momentarily speechless, and my body remained frozen! But wait! Didn't the Taoist priest already help me deal with the issue of the woman in red?
Why was she appearing again... but humans and ghosts are worlds apart!
"Chen Lang, Chen Lang..." The woman in red waved her hand in front of my eyes. When she saw I wasn't responding, she leaned in to kiss me.
Just as she was about to kiss me, I finally reacted and turned my head away.
I said to the woman in red, "Could you please put on some clothes first and sit down so we can have a proper talk?"
This woman in red always ambushed me... silently overpowering me... Suddenly, I felt like the Taoist priest had tricked me; he hadn't really solved the issue of my ghostly marriage with her at all.
"Okay, Chen Lang, I'll listen to you. Actually, I enjoy talking with you too."
The woman in the red dress put on her clothes and leaned closer to me, saying, "Chen Lang, what do you want with me?"
Honestly, I didn't want anything at all. I just wanted to ask her why she always took me to bed without my consent.
I felt wronged! It was nearly five in the morning, and after a long silence, I finally said, "Um, does that mean our relationship..." I was hinting at the matter of our ghostly marriage. Shouldn't it mean that my marriage with the female ghost had been resolved, and that there was no longer any connection between me and the woman in red?
As soon as I finished speaking, the woman in red crossed her arms and said, "Chen Lang, have you already picked a date? When are you planning to come and marry me?"
I was about to break down. It seemed that the Taoist priest really hadn't helped me resolve this issue. I glanced at the woman in red and said, "Well, it's almost dawn. You should leave for now. I'll let you know about that matter later."
She looked out the window and replied, "Alright then, Chen Lang. I'll be waiting for your good news." With that, she kissed me lightly and left.
Once the woman in red was gone, I felt completely off-kilter. I called for the Taoist priest repeatedly until he finally appeared after my third call. I urgently asked him, "You didn't help me resolve my marriage with the woman in red!"
After I spoke, the Taoist priest looked at me and suddenly said, "Your ghostly marriage cannot be undone."
"What?" I asked in shock.
But what he said next made me feel as if I had fallen into an ice cellar...
