The moonlight was still shining down, and when I saw so many heads of the dead popping up, my heart sank, and my palms broke out in a cold sweat. 0

Damn, this is really terrifying! At that moment, the three of us were completely stunned. Zhao Fan was ready to turn the boat around and flee, but I called out to him to wait. 0

Gao Ling said, "I think we shouldn't wait any longer. Those are all dead heads!" 0

We could see clearly now. The sight of that dark mass of heads suddenly surfacing was truly chilling. 0

Zhao Fan declared, "If we don't leave, I'm going to drop anchor." 0

At that moment, the Taoist also agreed with my suggestion. Zhao Fan and Gao Ling quickly dropped the anchor. 0

The boat was secured on the water's surface, swaying all around. We stood on the deck watching, and it was strange! Those heads seemed to be fixed in place, floating on the surface of the turbulent water without being swept away. There had to be something wrong. 0

I inhaled sharply; my hair stood on end, and I felt quite uneasy. 0

The Taoist looked over at the water as well but didn't say anything. Just then, the woman in red appeared and called out to me, "Chen Lang." 0

As soon as she appeared, I caught a whiff of a fragrant scent. 0

I responded, and the woman in red asked, "Chen Lang, how's the situation now?" She must have seen the heads below to ask that. 0

I replied, "It's okay for now; nothing major has happened." 0

The sound of rushing water mixed with the roar of the diesel engine filled the air. To guard against any trouble from those heads, Gao Ling and Zhao Fan were ready to pull up the anchor at any moment. 0

I focused intently on that area but dared not approach. I asked the Taoist, "Can we go closer?" 0

"Let's wait a bit longer," he replied. I nodded; with so many dead heads blocking the downstream flow, it was better to be cautious. Unconsciously, my breathing became heavier. 0

I kept my gaze fixed on that direction, not looking away for a moment. 0

At that moment, the Taoist said to me, "Chen Fei, you need to drop a bit of blood into the river." Hearing this, I glanced at him in surprise, thinking to myself, what good would a little blood do in such a turbulent current? 0

I asked the Taoist, "Is this really effective?" He replied, "How would you know unless you try? If the blood isn't released properly, it could lead to unforeseen problems!" 0

I looked at him again, and he reassured me, "Don't worry, it's fine." 0

We exchanged glances, and finally, I made up my mind. I took out my dagger and made a small cut on my finger. The blood quickly dripped into the water. However, as soon as it hit the surface, it was immediately dispersed. Would this even work? 0

The woman in red looked at me with concern and said, "Chen Lang, focus." 0

I nodded and squatted down, one hand gripping the edge of the boat while the blood continued to drip. The Taoist's gaze was fixed on those heads floating in the water. 0

Not long passed before I exclaimed, "This isn't working at all! My blood is practically insignificant compared to this river; I doubt it has any effect." Yet the Taoist insisted we wait. After a few more minutes, I wrapped my finger in some gauze. 0

The Taoist seemed unfazed. I asked him, "Can we go over now?" Gao Ling replied urgently, "No! You absolutely cannot go over there; doing so would be like signing your death warrant. With so many heads floating around, the malevolent energy must be overwhelming." 0

At that moment, the Cat Person had jumped into the river and vanished without a trace. Zhao Fan remarked, "I've fished bodies out of this river before but never encountered anything this eerie." 0

The Taoist didn't respond but squinted ahead. After about ten seconds of waiting, a horrifying scene suddenly unfolded. 0

In the darkness of night, numerous pairs of glowing eyes appeared in the river. We were all stunned. 0

"What is that?" Gao Ling asked. I glanced over and was about to confirm when the Taoist shouted urgently, "Chen Fei, run!" His voice rose sharply. Realizing what was happening, I knew I had to run! 0

Those heads were glowing and were coming towards us! The light emanated from pairs of violet eyes. As soon as the Taoist yelled for us to run, I quickly shouted to Gao Ling and Zhao Fan, "Run!" 0

Once they snapped back to reality, they hurriedly pulled up the anchor. I rushed over to help them as well. Together we strained to lift the anchor out of the water. Soon after, Zhao Fan maneuvered the boat to turn around. 0

But the speed had slowed down a bit, and those Dead Heads were actually catching up. Damn it, this is eerie! Seeing so many decapitated heads in the night was enough to make my skin crawl, and it felt like the chill ran from my head all the way down to my toes. 0

At that moment, I was on edge, just like Gao Ling and Zhao Fan. Zhao Fan's voice began to tremble as he said, "Damn it, are there ghosts behind us?" 0

I held my breath, fully focused. I instructed Zhao Fan and Gao Ling to take out the talismans we had prepared. They quickly retrieved items like Glutinous Rice Black Dog Blood as I had asked. 0

Just then, a child's crying echoed from the river, a strange sound of "wuwuwu..." I swallowed hard. At that moment, the boat suddenly tilted; it swayed violently from side to side due to the turbulent waters. I nearly lost my balance and fell into the river. 0

Once I steadied myself, I crouched down. The lower my center of gravity, the more stable I would be. Zhao Fan said, "Those dead heads must be underneath the boat now, pushing against it. If we fall in, we're done for." 0

Zhao Fan was right. I echoed his concern and said, "What are we waiting for? Quickly pour your talismans into the water!" After I spoke, everyone hurriedly followed my instructions. 0

Damn it, the boat was still unstable. I told Zhao Fan to control the boat while I poured out the items. He nodded in agreement as I took over. 0

The night was pitch black, and we were all soaked through. 0

The situation in the water was dire! Damn it, all those dead heads must be gathered together in this river. A cold breeze swept by, making me shiver uncontrollably. 0

After Gao Ling finished pouring her items into the water, she shouted, "It’s not working!" 0

The Taoist beside me remained silent while the woman in red grew increasingly anxious, urging us to speed up the boat. But this was as fast as we could go. 0

I turned to Zhao Fan and said, "Damn it, don’t go forward anymore; steer towards the shore!" 0

The banks of this river were relatively open; if we headed toward them, we could get ashore directly. After hearing my words, Zhao Fan cursed under his breath. "Damn it! My head must have been kicked by a donkey earlier; otherwise, why would I keep going straight ahead?" 0

I: ... 0

I replied, "Stop wasting time and hurry up!" 0

Zhao Fan shouted, "It's a cat!" despite the boat being unsteady but not capsizing. Gao Ling exclaimed, "Damn it, they're all cats! These cats are hiding in people's heads. Those heads must have been eaten clean." 0

I replied to Gao Ling, "Focus!" 0

A sense of unease washed over me. If those dead heads were indeed cats, that was truly eerie! These cats were genuinely terrifying, instilling a deep-seated fear within me. 0

The boat soon docked safely, and Zhao Fan barely had time to anchor before yelling at us, "Get off the boat!" 0

We jumped off into the water at the shore and started running towards land. However, after just a few steps, we froze in disbelief; the shore was nothing but a quagmire. 0

We quickly sank into it, the mud rising to our knees, making it nearly impossible to move. Still, we struggled to run. 0

These eerie Yin Cats devoured the dead and showed no preference for the living either. Last time, Zhao Fan's brother seemed to have been gnawed alive by this group of cats. 0

Gao Ling cursed, "Damn it, we're done for!" 0

What on earth were these cats? They were so bizarre. I urged Gao Ling, "Hurry up! Stop talking! Even though we're stuck, those cats are too; they’re just faster than us." 0

I felt anxious! Being trapped in such a situation was truly maddening. Plus, I was the last one running, with five or six Yin Cats right behind me. 0

The woman in red screamed urgently, "Chen Lang, hurry up!" 0
