I originally wanted to remind Zhang Xun. However, before I could say anything, an astonishing scene unfolded before my eyes. As soon as the Strange Creature woke up, Zhang Xun swiftly drew a dagger and plunged it directly into the creature's neck. 0

From my perspective, the Strange Creature had definitely just Awakened. 0

I was curious as to why Zhang Xun didn't take it out while the Strange Creature was still unconscious. Why did he wait until it woke up to strike? 0

After Zhang Xun's knife fell, a sharp and piercing scream erupted. This sound was not that of a cat; it resembled a human's agonized wail. 0

Damn, that scream made my eardrums tremble. 0

I asked, "Zhang Xun, what are you doing?" 0

Zhang Xun didn't respond, but his hands were already stained with blood. At that moment, Gao Ling shouted excitedly, "Fly, retreat! This group of Yin Cats is backing off!" 0

I turned my gaze back and noticed that the cats had indeed retreated. 0

The Strange Creature's screams continued, and it began to struggle, but Zhang Xun held it down firmly. 0

Soon after, Zhang Xun struck again with his knife, blood splattering everywhere. 0

Zhao Fan exclaimed in shock, "Did he kill the Cat Demon King?" I told Zhao Fan not to jump to conclusions, but I found it strange. Just moments ago, he could have killed it without hesitation; why wait until the Strange Creature was awake to act? 0

At this point, it seemed like Zhang Xun was struggling a bit to keep the creature pinned down. 0

I asked Zhang Xun, "Do you need my help?" 0

Zhang Xun, who had been silent until now, finally spoke, "Don't come any closer." After his words, he struck down with the knife several times, and at last, the Strange Creature lay still. 0

Zhang Xun murmured, "You shouldn't have come back to life." Once he finished speaking, he sheathed the knife and lifted the Strange Creature. Then he emitted a strange sound, the same eerie call that had caused the Yin Cats to retreat the last time. 0

However, this time, as Zhang Xun made that sound, the Yin Cats did not flee; instead, they fixed their gaze on him. 0

There were already some Yin Cat corpses on the ground. As Zhang Xun continued to produce those peculiar sounds, the Yin Cats slowly crouched down. 0

In his grasp was the Strange Creature, which was now a bloody mess. Upon closer inspection, it became evident that its facial features had yet to fully develop. 0

Could it be that the Yin Cats had failed to evolve into humans? 0

Zhao Fan still believed this creature was the Cat Demon King. Meanwhile, my curiosity about Zhang Xun grew; the Yin Cats seemed less aggressive than before and appeared somewhat docile. 0

Seeing this scene unfold, our previously tense nerves began to relax. Although we had no idea how Zhang Xun achieved this, it was truly remarkable—there was no other way to describe it but as extraordinary. 0

Gao Ling then asked, "What on earth is going on?" But at that moment, no one could answer him because Zhang Xun remained silent. 0

Zhang Xun ceased his strange calls, and the Yin Cats remained crouched and motionless. 0

He turned to us and said, "We can leave now." 0

Zhang Xun still held onto the Strange Creature and prepared to take it with him. Zhao Fan suggested, "Should we set this place on fire to eliminate any future threats?" 0

Zhang Xun shook his head in refusal and said nothing more. We began to back away cautiously. Just then, a shadow suddenly lunged at Zhang Xun, catching him off guard and knocking him to the ground. 0

I quickly reacted, wanting to step forward to help, but suddenly a "meow" echoed through the air. Upon hearing that sound, I felt something was off. 0

"Chen Fei, kill him!" Zhang Xun shouted urgently. 0

Zhang Xun's voice was somewhat frantic, and neither Gao Ling nor Zhao Fan seemed to snap out of it. The Yin Cats were also in a daze, but they appeared to be stirring with restlessness. 0

"Quickly, or we'll all be in trouble! It's waking up the Shadow Cat King in my hands," Zhang Xun continued to shout. This was the first time I had seen Zhang Xun so emotionally charged. 0

No way! The Shadow Cat King had already been stabbed like that; could it really wake up? But thinking about the saying that cats have nine lives made me tense up immediately. 0

Without hesitation, I stepped forward, drew my knife, and plunged it into Lao Liu's back. 0

Yet Lao Liu continued to emit those meowing sounds. "Aim for the neck!" Zhang Xun yelled. 0

Zhang Xun didn’t turn over; it looked like he was doing his best to hold down the Shadow Cat King. 0

Soon, a strange sound came from Zhang Xun again. The Yin Cats began to stir and move closer to us, but they did not attack. 0

Lao Liu's meowing screams persisted. 0

My knife was already stained with blood, but I still hesitated about killing Lao Liu! After all, he had been a living person before this! 0

Perhaps even though Lao Liu had turned into a Cat Person, there might still be a chance for him. If I killed him now, he would never have a chance to live again. 0

Seeing me lost in thought, Zhang Xun said, "Chen Fei, do you want to repeat the same mistake? Hurry up and act; he can never return to being a normal human. Rather than letting him suffer in this state, it's better to grant him a swift release." 0

Zhang Xun's words about "repeating past mistakes" flashed through my mind. Had I made similar errors before? The thought crossed my mind briefly, but Zhang Xun was right; rather than living in pain, it was better to seek a swift release. Without hesitation, I turned and struck at the Cat Person's neck, stabbing multiple times in quick succession. 0

The Cat Person's cries finally weakened. At that moment, the Yin Cats were now just a stone's throw away from us. However, as the Cat Person's screams ceased, the Yin Cats retreated once more. 0

Zhang Xun's cries also stopped, yet I remained in a daze, my hands covered in blood. 0

I pulled the Cat Person away from Zhang Xun, who had managed to get back on his feet. I glanced at what used to be Lao Liu, now the Cat Person; his original facial features had completely vanished, leaving behind a human body with a cat's face. 0

Just then, he suddenly grabbed my pant leg. Startled, I prepared to strike again when I heard the Cat Person speak unexpectedly. 0

"It's me, I'm Lao Liu." He spoke to me in that familiar awkward Mandarin. 0

Upon hearing Lao Liu's voice, my guard dropped immediately. However, I felt a wave of tension wash over me; after all, I had just attacked him. 0

My hands were still stained with his blood. 0

Zhao Fan approached and said, "Lao Liu, you've transformed back!" 0

Lao Liu called out to Zhao Boss. Zhao Fan stepped closer and said, "Lao Liu, I'm going to take you out of here. You might still survive; you have to hold on." 0

After Zhao Fan finished speaking, hope sparked within me as I chimed in, "Yes! Lao Liu, you can’t give up! I'll carry you out." 0

But as soon as I finished speaking, Zhang Xun interjected immediately, "We can't take him out; he won't survive. Even if he does live, he'll turn back into a Cat Person." 0

"Then do you have any solutions?" Zhao Fan asked. 0

"No," Zhang Xun said to me, "Chen Fei, give him another stab to send him on his way." 0

I was speechless... 0

When Zhang Xun said this, there was no hint of emotion in his voice. I still held the knife in my hand, and Lao Liu was staring at me with wide eyes, emotions swirling within them. 0

Zhao Fan spoke up, "Brother, can’t we think of a way?" Zhang Xun shot him a glare and said, "Do you believe me? If you keep talking nonsense, I’ll kill you too." 0

After Zhang Xun's words fell, Zhao Fan's expression changed, but he didn’t dare to say anything more. Gao Ling chimed in, "I think Fei is right; we can't hesitate when it's time to act. If you can't do it, let me." 0

I glanced at Gao Ling as he approached me. 0

I told Gao Ling, "You don't need to come; I'll do it myself." Taking a deep breath, I thought to myself that since I had initiated this evil, I would bear all the consequences that followed! 0

After I spoke, without hesitation, I brought the knife down again. Lao Liu managed one last word: "Thank you, brother," and then he breathed his last. 0

For a moment, the place fell into an eerie silence. Everyone remained quiet. 0

But just then, Zhang Xun broke the silence again. "If we don’t leave now, it will be too late." 0
