I then asked, "Are all your words true?" 0

The Mummy replied, "Why would I lie to you?" 0

This statement left me in a daze. Why would he lie to me? Indeed, he had no reason to deceive me. But did Fatty Zhang send me to Zhang Family Village just to understand this matter? Did Chen Fei and Zhang Xun know each other since January 1, 198? Moreover, Chen Fei and Jiang Changsheng saved Zhang Xun at that time. That was why Zhang Xun survived. But did this Mummy really know all of this so clearly? And if the Mummy was alive back then, why did my blood cause it to scream? I fell into deep thought, sensing that there was something fishy about it. 0

Who was Longting, and how could he navigate this place so easily? It seemed he was familiar with the Mummy as well. 0

I felt puzzled inside, but the Mummy continued to speak, expressing hatred for Zhang Xun, saying he would rather die than live such a miserable life. 0

Indeed, Zhang Xun had left the Mummy here to suffer for decades, which was truly a pitiful existence. 0

Longting then said, "Since you feel your life is miserable, I will send you on your way now." With that, Longting took a step forward, but the Mummy interjected, "I still have one more thing to say." 0

I asked, "What is it?" 0

Longting paused with the knife in hand, waiting for the Mummy's response. The Mummy said, "I know who killed Chen Fei's woman." 0

"What?" I was somewhat taken aback. The woman who killed Chen Fei? Even though I had no memory of these events, hearing about Chen Fei's woman made me sensitive due to the shared name. 0

I waited for the Mummy to continue, but Longting acted first. He coldly stated that the Mummy had said enough and then struck. The Mummy didn't even let out a whimper before it died. 0

I wanted to intervene, but it was too late. I fell silent as Longting withdrew the knife, which bore not a single drop of blood. 0

"Alright," Longting said. "We can leave now." 0

Yes, we could leave this place now. I knew some details about Zhang Xun's background, but if Fatty Zhang wanted me to know these things, would I still go save Zhang Xun? 0

Zhang Xun killed Chen Fei's woman; after learning about Zhang Xun's past, would Chen Fei still go to Coffin Street to save him? Did Zhang Xun know all of this? 0

Could this sudden appearance of Longting also be arranged by Fatty Zhang? I glanced at Longting; perhaps the lighting wasn't bright enough, but I could see his features clearly. 0

Longting turned and walked away. I couldn't help but take another look at the Mummy. Could a Mummy really survive for decades without food or drink? Were those words just spoken true? What exactly was Fatty Zhang trying to achieve? 0

Longting began descending the stairs while I hesitated before following him. Instead, I walked toward the Mummy and shone my flashlight on it. I started examining it because I felt that the Mummy shouldn't have been able to live this long. 0

As I approached, just as I was about to take a closer look, my phone rang. The light from the flashlight disappeared, and I glanced at the caller ID—it was Fatty Zhang. I quickly pressed the answer button. 0

"Have you arrived?" I asked, a bit annoyed that Fatty Zhang was late and had not updated me until now. 0

"I'm here, I've just reached the village entrance," he replied. 0

Suddenly, it struck me—wasn't it true that people from outside couldn't come in, and those inside couldn't go out? 0

Fatty Zhang continued, "That's true for ordinary people, but for someone like me, it's not an issue. By the way, where are you right now?" Without hesitation, I told him I was at Zhang Xun's house. 0

Upon hearing that I was at Zhang Xun's place, Fatty Zhang said, "Wait for me; I'll be right there." I acknowledged him with a sound before hanging up. After the call ended, I turned around to see that the room was already empty. 0

I called out for Longting, but there was no response. I wondered if Longting had gone downstairs first. Wanting to check on Mummy as she descended, I moved closer and turned on my flashlight to shine it on her face. Mummy looked somewhat grotesque. As I reached out to test her breath, just as my hand was about to touch her nose, she suddenly opened her eyes wide. 0

Damn it! That scared me to death. Was she still alive? The thought raced through my mind as Mummy quickly responded with action, flipping over and pinning me down. 0

I found myself on the ground, stunned by the shock and unprepared for her sudden move. She grabbed my neck and leaned her head closer to mine. 0

"What are you doing?" I shouted, thinking she was conscious. 0

But then she said to me, "I saw how much you enjoyed listening to my stories earlier; why not stay and keep me company?" 0

Furious, I cursed back, "You bastard, I don't have time for this!" After saying that, I pushed hard against her body, causing her to tilt sideways. Seizing the moment, I flipped over and struck her cheek before quickly getting back on my feet and trying to head downstairs. However, after just one step, I fell to the ground. Mummy had grabbed my ankle and let out a dry laugh that echoed ominously. It sent chills down my spine as I realized how badly I'd fallen. 0

"Damn it!" I cursed again and kicked at her head with all my might. My ankle finally broke free from her grip, but even though Mummy couldn't stand upright, she crawled surprisingly fast. My heart raced as I didn't dare look back; all I could do was run forward. 0

I called out for Longting but immediately silenced myself after realizing something was off. The commotion from my struggle with Mummy should have alerted him long ago; if he intended to save me, he would have come upstairs by now. 0

There had to be something fishy going on—Damn it! Longting must also be involved in this mess. 0

My mind was filled with doubts, but there was no time to ponder them now; escaping came first. However, once I got outside of Zhang Xun's house, ready to breathe a sigh of relief, I saw Mummy lying on the ground like a dried-up frog waiting for me. 0

I gasped in shock and thought that Mummy must have jumped down from the second-floor window. "Are you dead or alive?" I shouted. 0

Mummy didn’t answer but began crawling toward me. Damn it! Thankfully, I was in the yard below where there was more space; otherwise, I'd probably be done for right now. 0

I pulled out my dagger—did they really think I was easy prey? 0

As expected, Longting was nowhere to be found. I felt like I'd been set up; Mummy continued crawling toward me while my eyes darted around anxiously. Where was Fatty Zhang? 0

Fortunately, the walls of this house weren't very high. As the Mummy lunged at me, I immediately headed for the wall. I climbed up quickly, my hands gripping the top, and shouted, "You think you can take me on? You're still too green." 0

Outside, it was pitch black, and Zhang Family Village was eerily quiet. Without thinking much, I jumped down. 0

I started running toward the village entrance, hoping to bump into Fat Zhang. I turned my head and noticed that the Mummy wasn't chasing me. I finally let out a sigh of relief. 0

I took out my phone to call Fat Zhang, but before I could connect the call, I turned and ran off without looking back, sprinting away. 0

Damn it! That scared me to death. How did Dan Dan show up at this moment? 0

I knew there was no escaping this. I had truly had enough of Zhang Family Village, and why hadn’t the Mummy died? So, the Mummy's words must have been lies. 0

As I ran, a flood of thoughts raced through my mind. 0

Right now, both Zhang Xun and Longting seemed suspicious. Could Longting be colluding with the Mummy to trick me? If that were true, this guy was really something else. I took a deep breath; something felt off! I sensed that something was wrong, but I couldn't pinpoint what it was. 0

It was like a fishing net; I intended to cast it wide to catch fish, but there was a hole in the net that I had never noticed. On the surface, it looked like those fish were lively within the net, but they were just toying with me. When I prepared to pull in the net, they slipped right through. 0

That was exactly how I felt right now. I kept running without knowing how long it had been until finally, I stopped. I couldn't run anymore because Dan Dan was already waiting for me ahead. 0
