Living Funeral
Upon hearing those words, I felt my scalp tingle as if it were about to explode. The old man, under the dim light, wore a grin that was more terrifying than reassuring.
I waited for him to speak while clutching the Hundred Ghosts Diagram in my hand. If he answered even slightly incorrectly, I would stick the diagram on him. The atmosphere was eerily quiet.
My breath quickened, and my chest rose and fell unevenly.
He held a piece of Stinky Tofu in his hand. Damn it, I could only manage a single word: "No." As soon as I said that, I saw the old man suddenly move, lifting a pot of oil. Seeing this, I cursed under my breath and kicked over the cart without hesitation.
The pot of oil spilled behind him, and in the next moment, a cloud of black smoke billowed out. I noticed four or five Black Cats appear on the ground. Damn it, this old man really did summon these Black Cats.
I turned and ran; I didn't want to waste any time with these Black Cats.
Thank goodness there was some light here instead of complete darkness. I leaned against a wall, gasping for breath. This was truly terrifying.
I fumbled for my phone, hoping to call someone—at least I could talk to someone. But once again, I failed; the call wouldn't go through.
I had encountered ghosts! Trapped in someone else's trap, I had nearly lost my life several times here, and there were fake female ghosts too. All of this filled me with panic; I couldn't escape—this was a dead end. Just then, I suddenly saw a woman in red, and not just one—there were four or five of them.
My heart raced at the sight.
These women in red approached me. As they got closer, I could tell they weren't Lin Xue.
What on earth were these things? Clutching the Hundred Ghosts Diagram tightly, my anxiety skyrocketed. The women in red had expressionless faces, each one appearing utterly vacant.
I asked, "Are you human or ghost?" Deep down, I already knew the answer but couldn't help but ask for some reassurance. However, these women had no time to respond.
Quickly, the female ghosts moved toward me. I pressed the Hundred Ghosts Diagram against one of them, and she let out a piercing scream. Something was off; these weren't ghosts—they were corpses.
Realization hit me: these corpses were victims of Li Qiangjian's killings.
The old lady's, the female corpses were pushed back by the Hundred Ghosts Diagram, but soon they advanced again, and the other female corpse did not wait, attacking in succession.
Before long, I was caught off guard and pushed to the ground by one of the female corpses. The strength of the corpse was immense; after I fell, she quickly pressed down on me, followed by another female corpse. They piled on top of me like a stack of blocks, making it hard for me to breathe.
Damn it, I was definitely done for this time. In an instant, despair filled my heart.
I was pinned down tightly, unable to break free. However, these female corpses did not attack me; they just kept pressing down. Time passed slowly, and I felt like I was about to lose my mind.
But still, no one came. My entire body was soaked in sweat, yet these female corpses showed no reaction.
Damn it, it must be Li Qiang. I started shouting for Li Qiang to come over. I called his name repeatedly until finally someone emerged from the darkness. But it wasn't Li Qiang; it was a child.
This child was Shan. Seeing Shan made me feel even more foolish—what the hell was going on here?
Shan stood in front of me with a wicked smile on his face. My heart sank; could it be that I had been set up by this brat? If that were true, it would be so embarrassing! Shan stood there staring at me, and I said to him, "Can you let Li Qiang out?"
Shan didn't respond immediately; he just continued to look at me.
Damn it, I felt uneasy under Shan's gaze. However, I could clearly sense that he wasn't possessed; this guy was doing it intentionally. But if he really had a conscious intent behind this, that would be terrifying.
Shan said, "There is no Li Qiang here."
No Li Qiang here? That was absurd! These female corpses couldn't possibly belong to Shan; Li Qiang must be hiding somewhere nearby, watching me closely.
I said to Shan, "Your parents are looking for you everywhere and are heartbroken. Listen to your brother and go back quickly; let Li Qiang out."
A cold smile curved at the corners of Shan's mouth as he replied, "Listening to you will keep youth everlasting."
I: …
At that moment, his voice turned somewhat eerie and even sounded perverse. This tone definitely did not belong to a child of around ten years old; just this ten-year-old boy alone was enough to send chills down anyone's spine.
I took a sharp breath, feeling utterly exhausted from the pressure weighing down on me.
Even if they wanted to kill me right now, I had no strength to resist. The atmosphere began to grow increasingly eerie. Shan glanced at me a few times, then shook the bell in his hand repeatedly. The female corpse rose from my side.
Damn it, this Shan is truly eerie; he can control corpses. I was gasping for air, completely drained of energy. In my mind, I thought that once these female corpses got up, I would run. But I was wrong. As soon as the first female corpse stood up, she grabbed my ankle.
The second female corpse quickly followed suit and seized my other ankle. By the time all these corpses had risen, my limbs were firmly held in place.
Damn, this Shan is too cunning.
Then they lifted me up directly. Shan walked ahead like a ghost, shaking the bell in his hand, and the corpses followed him obediently. I was shocked beyond belief; was Shan even human? How could he understand so much?
I was being carried forward through the dim alleyway, where not a single soul could be seen.
Time passed slowly. I called out to Shan, but he ignored me, only continuing to shake the bell. Then came an even more terrifying and bizarre scene.
More black cats began to appear in the alley, trailing behind the female corpses. I also spotted black rats; the scene was sinister and extremely unsettling.
How was this happening? Was it really this boy named Shan who was behind it all?
Could it be that he had thoroughly studied that pattern and mastered these abilities? It was terrifying; I suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of fear. The female corpses were incredibly strong, leaving me with no chance of escape.
Seeing no way out, I began to ask, "Where are you taking me?"
"Did Li Qiang instruct you to do this?"
Shan replied, "No, I want to know the secret within your body."
"What does the secret in my body have to do with you?"
Shan said to me, "It doesn't concern me, but I enjoy research—researching your body."
I: ...
It seemed I had truly encountered a pervert. Damn it, a pervert. Finally, a vehicle appeared ahead—a dilapidated truck. I was unceremoniously thrown onto the back of the truck, and the female corpse quickly crawled up and ended up pressing down on my back.
Just like a stack of blocks, I was piled under her weight. Then, a black rain tarp was thrown over me, and I was taken to an unknown destination. When we arrived, the corpse lifted off me, and a gust of wind immediately blew in; it was quite strong.
As I opened my eyes, I saw the splendor of the entire city, but beneath me lay an abandoned building.
At this point, I had been tied to a long bench. The boy approached me while the female corpse stood to the side.
I thought to myself how unlucky I was to run into someone like him. I said to the boy, "What do you want from me?"
He smiled wickedly and replied, "You'll find out soon enough." But the key point was that he was just a kid. Damn it! Here I was, in my twenties, being toyed with by someone who looked barely ten years old—this was humiliating. The Black Cat and Black Rat were crouched nearby like well-trained pets.
What the hell! Damn it! What kind of freak was this boy? I lay there on the bench.
He suddenly asked me, "Do you believe that a person can live forever?" His question caught me off guard. After thinking for a moment, I replied, "It's possible."
Then he suddenly let out a chilling laugh—"Hehehe..."—his expression turning disturbingly terrifying.
