"That day, I let you and Captain Wu leave first because there was something in the villa, something that was watching us from start to finish. Out of consideration for your safety, I didn't tell you," Uncle Tiger said. 0

As soon as Uncle Tiger finished speaking, a chill surged through my entire body. There were no hiding places in the basement; it was too open. How could there be anything there? 0

Uncle Tiger smiled, noticing my confusion. He turned to Captain Wu and instructed him to take the others away. Then, Uncle Tiger led me to the back garden to show me what he meant. 0

I was somewhat puzzled by Uncle Tiger's intentions. The back garden was quite ordinary—there were flowers, grass, and a rockery—nothing particularly strange. 0

Uncle Tiger sighed, looking a bit helpless. "Well, this might be a bit difficult for you. Wang Niu, pay attention to the arrangement of the flowers, grass, and rockery, and then connect them." 0

I nodded and began to visualize the positions of the plants in my mind. After a moment, I looked at Uncle Tiger in surprise; this clearly formed a bagua. I voiced my realization, but Uncle Tiger shook his head and said it was incorrect. 0

Now I was confused. If it wasn't a bagua, then what was it? I pressed Uncle Tiger for an answer. 0

"This is arranged according to the directions of the bagua," he explained, "but it's not a bagua; it's a Yin Hexagram that corresponds with the layout of the basement. The two Yin complement each other, continuing the Continuation of Yinming, merging with the Yin Person." 0

I nodded slowly, trying to understand, but I still couldn't grasp what the shadow on that leader meant. Uncle Tiger didn't elaborate further and instead encouraged me to think for myself. 0

I pondered over what Uncle Tiger had just said while connecting it with everything I had learned in recent days. After thinking it through repeatedly without clarity, I could only smile awkwardly at Uncle Tiger. 0

"This is a type of secret technique related to the Continuation of Yinming," Uncle Tiger continued. "The thing in the villa is that shadow, which is a Yin entity born from the Underworld known as Yin Chi. Yin Chi can take on human form and deceive those filled with greed, thus reaching an agreement to enter the host's body. If any accidents occur during this secret technique, the host will be backfired by Yin Chi. That's why you witnessed what you did. After you left, I fought with Yin Chi during which it suffered severe damage and fled from the villa. I followed closely behind and arrived here, noticing this place was different from others with dark energy surrounding it. I deduced that something must be here and instructed Captain Wu to investigate this establishment and its connection to the deceased's family. To my surprise, they turned out to be related by blood, and all of the deceased's birth dates were aligned with Yin configurations. With that revelation, everything became clear." 0

I interjected, "Could it be that that leader conspired with the deceased's family against him for the sake of continuing Yinming?" 0

At that moment, Captain Wu rushed into the back garden, his face glistening with sweat as he gasped for breath. "Uncle! I've found the body of the deceased's family member! It's in a small room just behind here; the sight is truly horrifying." 0

Captain Wu led us to where the incident occurred; the body had been removed and covered with white cloths. 0

Just as Uncle Tiger was about to step forward to unveil it for a closer look, Captain Wu quickly stopped him and kindly warned him, "Uncle, don't look! Even someone like me who is used to seeing corpses finds it terrifying; you might get scared." 0

Uncle Tiger chuckled lightly and assured him it would be fine as he lifted the white cloth. My gaze naturally followed suit, and before I knew it, I found myself retching violently. 0

The faces of the two corpses were completely gone, leaving behind hollow pits as if they had been gnawed by rats. Not only that, but their bodies were infested with countless insects, giving off a sense of being used to raise corpse worms. 0

Everyone present found it hard to withstand this scene, except for Uncle Tiger, who remained unfazed, as if he were witnessing something entirely normal. 0

We all admired Uncle Tiger. After a while, he finally covered the bodies with a white cloth. Although they were no longer visible, the gruesome images still lingered in our minds. 0

Uncle Tiger said, "This is the consequence of greed and evil thoughts. I truly don't understand how these parents could be so cruel to their own daughter." 0

Captain Wu took a moment to compose himself and echoed, "Indeed, who would have thought the murderer would be the parents? No wonder the victim's family was able to seal off the scene; they had a leader backing them. They killed their own daughter at home and were afraid of being suspected by the Daoist, so they cried thief to catch a thief, causing a ruckus in the precinct. By doing so, no one would suspect them. If it weren't for the surveillance on the family these past few days, the truth would have remained buried." 0

Uncle Tiger nodded and added, "This greed not only harmed their daughter but also themselves. Look at their faces and bodies; they are covered in insects that consumed them alive." 0

After hearing Uncle Tiger and Captain Wu's words, I began to understand some things, but it felt like I was still missing something. 0

"Yes, it seems that one should not be greedy or harbor malicious thoughts. Uncle, little brother, thank you both. Without you, this case wouldn't have been solved so quickly." 0

Captain Wu was very pleased and waved his hand for the bodies to be taken away. It seemed that he would be promoted again after this incident. 0

Uncle Tiger appeared very humble; he merely smiled lightly and turned his gaze toward the room. "Captain Wu, may I go in and take a look?" 0

Naturally, Captain Wu agreed happily, and I followed him inside. 0

The room was filled with a foul stench; it seemed that the odor from the corpses had permeated the entire house. Uncle Tiger walked around the room as if searching for something. 0

After several rounds, Uncle Tiger looked somewhat disappointed. Curious, I asked him what was wrong. 0

He shook his head and said we should leave. I had no choice but to stop talking and exited the room. However, just at that last moment, I heard a man's laughter. 0

In an instant, I froze like a stone pillar. I thought I must have misheard, but then a second laugh reached my ears. Instinctively, I turned around and saw a black lotus pattern flickering before my eyes. 0

I was struck like a bolt from the blue, and I called out. Uncle Tiger immediately turned around and asked what was wrong. 0

I recounted what I had just seen to Uncle Tiger, whose expression darkened at once. He said, “Wang Niu, we can’t delay any longer. We need to head back to the village and ask your grandfather.” 0

I was taken aback as Uncle Tiger led me away without even saying goodbye to Captain Wu. Once we returned to where we were staying, Uncle Tiger urged me to pack my things right away. But in my heart, I was reluctant to leave; what about A Yao? 0

After a moment of hesitation, I decided to speak up. “Uncle, I can’t leave yet. A Yao is missing.” 0

Uncle Tiger paused for a moment, then quickly regained his composure and asked, “When did this happen?” 0

I sighed and told Uncle Tiger it was just a few days ago. He frowned, clearly sensing that something bad had happened. After a moment of silence, he said, “Wang Niu, don’t worry. A Yao will be fine.” 0

But I still couldn’t shake my worries; I wanted to stay here and search for A Yao. Uncle Tiger sighed, understanding my feelings but helplessly said, “You don’t even know who you’re dealing with. How do you plan to find them based solely on the lotus pattern? What if you can’t find a man with a lotus pattern on his face?” 0

I was left speechless by Uncle Tiger’s words, my head drooping in despair. He patted my shoulder and comforted me, saying, “Wang Niu, do you trust your uncle?” 0

I looked up at Uncle Tiger. There seemed to be a kind of strength in his eyes that rekindled my confidence. I nodded and replied that I did trust him. 0

After packing my things, I hurried back to the village with Uncle Tiger. By then, it was already ten o'clock at night. At this hour, my grandfather would have gone to bed, so I had no choice but to stay the night at Uncle Tiger’s house. 0

The next morning, Uncle Tiger called me up early, and we headed to my home just as my grandfather was coming out of the house. 0
