He Wei was surprisingly bold, daring to drive into both me and Captain Wu. 0

Soon after, my head grew heavier and heavier until I lost consciousness. When Captain Wu and I finally woke up, five days had already passed. 0

Naturally, A Yao was by my side. 0

As soon as A Yao saw that I was awake, she immediately threw herself into my arms and began to cry. 0

Due to the car accident, I could only lie in bed, unable to move at all, so I had no choice but to let A Yao hold me. Feeling her tears on my chest made my heart twist painfully; it was a terrible feeling. 0

I couldn't bear to see A Yao cry. The moment she shed tears, I felt an overwhelming sense of guilt. 0

I opened my mouth, wanting to comfort her, but found that I couldn't say a word; I had no strength at all. Yet A Yao's tears kept flowing, and my heart raced with anxiety as I silently urged her not to cry. 0

After a while, A Yao stopped crying and wiped her tears away. She looked at me, and I moved my lips, trying to convey that everything would be alright. 0

Perhaps A Yao understood my silent message; she said with a hint of grievance, "Wang Niu, can you please stop doing dangerous things? I'm so scared. Do you know that on the day of the accident, you and Captain Wu were covered in blood? We couldn't wake you up, and you were in the intensive care unit for so long. Yuan Yuan and I were so worried." 0

Hearing A Yao's words made my heart tremble with discomfort. I smiled at her, eager to know how Captain Wu was doing, so I moved my lips again. 0

A Yao seemed to understand what I was asking and leaned closer. With all the strength I could muster, I asked about Captain Wu's condition. 0

Only then did A Yao clearly hear my question and tell me that Captain Wu was fine. It was at that moment that he also woke up. 0

A wave of relief washed over me. Afterward, Captain Wu and I stayed in the hospital for another week before being discharged. 0

Initially, A Yao and Yuan Yuan strongly opposed it. However, since the person who hit us was He Wei—who had many secrets of his own—our primary mission became capturing him. Perhaps then all the cases would be resolved. 0

Once discharged from the hospital, Captain Wu immediately submitted a report to his superiors requesting the capture of He Wei. 0

Soon, Captain Wu received the report of approval. 0

Without hesitation, we immediately brought a large group of police officers to the cinema. However, when we arrived, we found that the cinema was deserted, looking as if it were on the verge of closing down. 0

"How strange that it suddenly became empty," Captain Wu said, turning to me. 0

I shook my head, and Captain Wu continued, "I had instructed our officers to monitor this cinema. It was still fine last night; how could it have changed by this morning?" 0

"Could they have retreated while the officers were off duty?" I suggested. 0

Captain Wu shook his head, indicating he didn't know. He then called over the monitoring officers to inquire about the situation, but there were no results. 0

At this point, the cinema had become a derelict place with little information left to uncover. 0

We had no choice but to retreat. On the way back to the police station, I suddenly remembered the cemetery where I had previously followed He Wei. I asked Captain Wu to turn the car around and head to the cemetery. 0

Captain Wu understood what I meant and quickly turned the car around. Twenty minutes later, we arrived at the cemetery. 0

We immediately got out and headed to the area based on the information given by the old man earlier. However, it was more challenging than Captain Wu and I had imagined because there were so many tombstones that we had no idea where He Wei's or Boss's tombstone was located. 0

In frustration, Captain Wu and I decided to split up. 0

After searching for a long time without finding Liu Shoubai's tombstone, I felt disheartened. Just then, the old man appeared again. Seeing us searching high and low, he stopped us and asked if we were looking for He Wei's or Boss's tombstone. We nodded in response. 0

The old man said he could take us there, and Captain Wu and I immediately felt excited. If he guided us, who knows how long it would take us to find it on our own? 0

We followed the old man to Liu Shoubai's tombstone. After showing us the way, he left. 0

"Little brother, look," I suddenly heard Captain Wu's excited voice while I was examining the surroundings of the tombstone. I quickly turned my attention to where Captain Wu was pointing. 0

"This is the Wooden Box that He Wei had before," I exclaimed with joy, noticing a Wooden Box behind the tombstone. It was hard to see unless you looked closely, as it was obscured by a beam of light. 0

"Little brother, what do you think we should do?" Captain Wu asked me. 0

I glanced at the Wooden Box, feeling curious about Uncle Tiger's mention of the corpse spirit. I decided to open it, and inside, I found a mass of black mist. In just a few seconds, the black mist mysteriously vanished. 0

"What just happened?" Captain Wu stared blankly at me. 0

I furrowed my brow. Did I just release the corpse spirit from the Wooden Box? If that were the case, then Captain Wu and I had wasted our efforts. 0

I quickly took out my phone and called Uncle Tiger. It didn't take long for him to answer. I explained the situation to him, and he reassured me not to worry, saying that the corpse spirit shouldn't be exposed during the day; if it was, it would essentially be useless. 0

Hearing Uncle Tiger's words relieved me. After asking about his recent health condition, I ended the call. 0

Captain Wu asked me what was going on. I told him that I had destroyed the corpse spirit, but perhaps this could force He Wei out into the open. 0

Captain Wu thought for a moment and agreed with me, nodding his head. Just as we were preparing to stay here a little longer, we spotted someone in the distance who looked somewhat like He Wei. Immediately, Captain Wu and I grabbed the Wooden Box and hid in a concealed spot. 0

Before long, He Wei approached us. He first knelt three times before Liu Shoubai and then began chanting something we couldn't understand—probably some kind of incantation. 0

A few seconds later, both Captain Wu and I suddenly felt uncomfortable, as if something heavy had pressed down on our shoulders. 0

I crouched down in pain, instinctively covering my ears. But at that moment, I felt an immediate sense of relief. As if realizing something, I removed my hands from my ears. In just a few seconds, that heavy sensation returned. It dawned on me that it must have been those words He Wei had just chanted that caused this problem. 0

As I regained my composure, I looked at Captain Wu. His face was terrifying, drenched in cold sweat. I immediately urged him to cover his ears. 0

Upon hearing my words, Captain Wu quickly covered his ears, and gradually began to calm down a bit. 0

"Little brother, what is He Wei doing?" Captain Wu asked, puzzled. 0

I shook my head; whatever it was, it certainly wasn't anything good. 0

While Captain Wu and I were talking, He Wei had finished chanting. He stood up and walked behind the tombstone, seemingly searching for the Wooden Box. This made me anxious; soon, He Wei would realize that something was missing. 0

I quickly signaled Captain Wu to hide. Sure enough, when He Wei discovered that the Wooden Box was gone, he began searching around the tombstone. After a while, he suddenly became extremely agitated and shouted into the surroundings. 0

To be honest, that shout startled both Captain Wu and me because it sounded less like a human voice and more like that of a beast. 0

Captain Wu widened his eyes and quietly asked me if that sound had come from He Wei's mouth. I confirmed it, leaving Captain Wu somewhat stunned as he questioned what exactly He Wei was. 0

I shook my head; He Wei was still searching. Suddenly, he started walking toward us, his eyes bloodshot like an enraged gorilla. 0

For some reason, my body tensed up. Just from the incantations He Wei had recited earlier, I knew he wasn't an ordinary person. If he possessed any real sorcery, then neither Captain Wu nor I would stand a chance against him. After all, if He Wei could run us over with a car, he might very well be able to kill us here as well. 0
