"Look, it seems like there's a hole," Feng Ju said, pointing.
I followed Feng Ju's gaze and saw that the area where the tavern used to be had turned into a series of small openings, surrounded by grass.
This puzzled me. Feng Ju glanced up at the sky, which was now fully bright.
"Let's go take a look," I suggested to Feng Ju.
Feng Ju nodded and followed closely behind me.
We approached one of the nearby holes. Feng Ju pointed at the entrance and said, "Wang Jun, there’s a strange smell coming from this hole; it’s almost like the scent of rats."
I paused for a moment. Could this be a rat hole?
Seeing my silence, Feng Ju asked, "Wang Jun, should we go in and check it out?"
After thinking it over, I nodded in agreement. "Sure, let’s go inside."
Then, Feng Ju and I transformed into two wisps of smoke and slipped into the hole. Once we entered, we were taken aback by the path inside.
"This... this looks like a maze," Feng Ju exclaimed, equally stunned.
I looked around; the narrow paths seemed interconnected. If we weren't careful, both Feng Ju and I could easily get lost in here.
"Wang Jun, what should we do?" Feng Ju asked me.
I pondered for a moment and then extended my hand. A faint white light appeared on my palm, which quickly transformed into a cat.
Feng Ju's eyes lit up as she realized what I was doing.
"Wang Jun, you really are impressive," Feng Ju said, giving me a thumbs up.
I smiled and turned to the cat in my hands. "Go ahead."
Upon hearing my words, the cat dashed out, its figure darting in and out of the openings.
"Feng Ju, what is that cat doing?" Feng Ju asked, puzzled.
"It's looking for a way out," I replied.
We watched as the cat searched for an exit along the narrow paths.
Before long, the cat let out a yowl.
I felt a surge of excitement and said to Feng Ju, "Let's go; the cat has found a way."
Feng Ju's face lit up with enthusiasm. "If that's the case, we might just find that Seductress and deal with her directly. That would save us so much trouble!"
As Feng Ju and I followed the cat along the winding paths, we soon heard voices nearby.
We quickly concealed ourselves as footsteps approached closer and closer.
Peeking out, we saw two Rat Demons walking toward us.
"My lord, our luck has been quite good lately," one of them said.
"Yes, indeed. The King will only grow stronger from now on."
"Of course! That's why the King has invited many Rodents tonight."
"We must host this banquet well; we can't let the King down."
"Absolutely."
After saying that, the two Rat Demons left.
Feng Ju looked at me with a puzzled expression and said, "Wang Jun, did you hear that? It seems they're holding some kind of banquet and inviting a bunch of monsters."
I nodded. Perhaps today we could eliminate these monsters together.
"These monsters are quite bold."
"Who can argue with that? But, Wang Jun, do you think we can handle this alone? Should we call for some backup? I'm worried there might be too many of them," Feng Ju suggested.
I shook my head. "No need for that. Don't worry; we can handle this."
After that, we continued to follow the cat in front of us deeper into the lair.
As we ventured further inside, a strange smell began to fill the air.
"This smell seems to be human," Feng Ju remarked.
I nodded in agreement. At that moment, eerie sounds echoed from ahead, resembling something gnawing on bones.
Feng Ju and I hurried over, only to be met with a strong stench of blood.
To our horror, we saw several Little Demons feasting on human flesh. The body appeared to have been dead for quite some time, its skin turned black.
The scene was incredibly bloody.
"Oh my God, these monsters are really disgusting," Feng Ju said to me.
I frowned; these creatures were quite bold to dare kill.
However, this was not the time to deal with them. I turned to Feng Ju and said, "Let's not alert them. We'll wait until tonight when all these monsters gather together before we make our move."
Feng Ju nodded, and we continued deeper into the area. Suddenly, a fragrant scent wafted through the air, causing both Feng Ju and me to furrow our brows.
At that moment, several women appeared, each holding something that looked like a basket.
"What do they have in their hands?" Feng Ju asked in confusion.
My frown deepened; what those women were holding were human hearts.
"Hearts."
Feng Ju froze for a moment, her face turning pale with shock. "You mean those are hearts?"
I nodded, just as I was about to respond to Feng Ju when she suddenly shot forward, immobilizing the four women.
I was taken aback as I saw two swirling masses of black energy appear in Feng Ju's hands. In an instant, those black energies lunged at the four women.
Their faces turned ghostly white in an instant.
I was stunned; what was Feng Ju doing?
Before long, the four women vanished from sight.
Then I saw Feng Ju transform into a woman herself.
"Wang Jun, you should transform as well. We'll take these Hearts inside," Feng Ju said to me.
A look of worry crossed my face; with this plan, we would be even more exposed.
"Don't worry, I've already taken control of the memories of these four women," Feng Ju reassured me.
After thinking for a moment, I transformed into one of the women. However, we still needed two more to complete our group.
I then created two virtual figures to accompany us.
"Let's go, we're heading to Harmony Palace," Feng Ju said.
I paused for a moment, Harmony Palace?
Seeing my puzzled expression, Feng Ju explained, "Harmony Palace is where the Seductress resides."
I was somewhat surprised but understood Feng Ju's intentions. I nodded in agreement and followed Feng Ju.
We crossed a stone bridge, and upon reaching the other side, we found ourselves in a woman's boudoir.
This must be what Feng Ju referred to as Harmony Palace.
At that moment, Feng Ju stopped and said to me, "Wang Jun, that is Harmony Palace."
I responded with a soft acknowledgment and looked ahead. The aura of seduction within Harmony Palace was overwhelming. Moreover, I noticed a woman seemingly lying on the bed.
"Wang Jun, look! That is the Seductress," Feng Ju's tone suddenly became excited.
I squinted and looked closely; it really was the Seductress.
At that moment, a voice came from beside the bed. "What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and bring me the Heart!"
Both Feng Ju and I were taken aback for a moment before quickly bringing the Heart over.
When the woman saw us approaching, she immediately got up from the bed and said, "Why are you so slow? If you take any longer, I'm going to be laughed at by those people today!"
Her words left both Feng Ju and me puzzled. It wasn't until we saw her face that we realized this Seductress looked very different from the one we had seen before. This Seductress had a face full of wrinkles and looked quite ugly.
Feng Ju and I exchanged glances before handing the Heart to the Seductress.
After taking the Heart, the Seductress immediately began to eat it. At that moment, her face started to change little by little.
Once she finished eating the Hearts, her face returned to its original appearance.
Then, the Seductress looked at us and said, "Why do you smell so strange? Did something happen?"
There was a hint of caution in her expression. Just as I was about to speak, Feng Ju explained to the Seductress, "My lady, it's like this: a few days ago, when we were about to find some men, we encountered a Taoist during our hunt. This Taoist was incredibly powerful and nearly killed us; he splashed us with holy water."
Upon hearing this, the Seductress's expression changed immediately, her eyes widening. "What did this Taoist look like?"
Feng Ju began describing him to the Seductress. As she listened, her expression gradually worsened, which piqued my curiosity about what was troubling her.
