The expression of the Seductress suddenly turned to one of surprise.
"You, who are you?"
Feng Ju and I exchanged a knowing smile, reverting to our previous forms. Upon seeing this, the Seductress's face changed completely.
"What exactly are you?"
"Do you know we are the Masters from above?" I replied calmly.
"The Masters from above?" The Seductress's tone was filled with even more astonishment.
As soon as she finished speaking, she found herself bound by red threads, unable to move. As time passed, the Seductress collapsed to the ground, a faint black mist appearing around her.
"What is this?"
"This is the demonic energy within you. This is called demonic energy leakage, which means you are about to die," Feng Ju said coolly.
"What did you say?"
I approached the Seductress and crouched down. "Do you realize that your actions have already caught the attention of those above?"
Upon hearing this, the Seductress's expression changed, and she quickly retorted, "I haven't done anything! Why would they treat me like this?"
As soon as Feng Ju heard her words, he unleashed a beam of light that struck fiercely against the Seductress.
"Ah!" The Seductress let out a scream, and then I saw light seeping from her body, as if it were trying to split her in two.
"Please, just let me go," the Seductress pleaded desperately.
"Let you go? You wish! If we let you go, what about all those dead men?" Feng Ju said coldly.
"I... I won't dare again. I promise to be a good demon."
Neither Feng Ju nor I paid any attention to the Seductress. In an instant, a beam of light erupted from her body, piercing right through her.
I sighed as I watched the place where the Seductress had vanished and then followed Feng Ju as we left.
Once we stepped out of that area, it disappeared behind us.
Feng Ju stretched lazily and turned to me. "The matter is settled. Should we head back to Heaven?"
I thought for a moment. It seemed we had lingered in the mortal realm for quite some time. If we returned empty-handed, Ruoxi might get angry.
"Not yet. I remember there's a market nearby. Let's go check it out," I replied to Feng Ju.
"Are you worried about Ruoxi getting mad at you?" Feng Ju chuckled.
I nodded and followed Feng Ju to the market.
The market was bustling with activity, crowded with people everywhere.
"Wang Jun, what do you want to buy?" Feng Ju asked me.
I glanced over, just about to speak to Feng Ju, when suddenly a loud commotion erupted ahead.
"Someone's been killed!"
Both Feng Ju and I were instantly drawn to the scene. A woman with a blank expression was brandishing a knife as she chased after a man.
The man's face was filled with terror, seemingly fleeing from the woman behind him. Strangely, the woman had several knives embedded in her body, yet there was not a drop of blood on her.
"What’s going on? This is so strange," Feng Ju said, puzzled.
My gaze remained fixed on the woman; it was indeed bizarre.
"Wait, this woman is a Living Dead," I told Feng Ju.
"A Living Dead? What is that?" Feng Ju asked, surprised.
"A Living Dead is someone who is already dead but behaves like they are alive," I explained to Feng Ju.
Understanding dawned on Feng Ju, and we turned our attention back to the man. He was clearly exhausted from being pursued by the woman. If we didn’t intervene soon, he might very well die at her hands.
Feng Ju looked at me and said, "Wang Jun, should we help?"
I assessed the situation and felt it was time to act. Quietly, I used my celestial technique to immobilize the woman.
The onlookers were stunned by this turn of events, their expressions a mix of curiosity and fear.
The man, seeing that the woman was no longer pursuing him, also came to a halt, gasping for breath. However, there was a fear in his eyes that surpassed that of the others.
At that moment, a bizarre scene unfolded.
The woman, who had been frozen in place, suddenly emitted a creaking sound from her body.
The people around her were startled. Before they could comprehend what was happening, the woman's body abruptly transformed into a mass.
"Oh my God, what is that?" someone exclaimed in shock.
Right before their eyes, the woman's form had disintegrated into chunks of flesh, making it impossible to recognize her as a human being.
The crowd immediately began to vomit and hurriedly fled, causing chaos to erupt in the marketplace.
"Oh my God, it's a ghost! Everyone run!" someone shouted, further escalating the panic. The man who stood rooted in place seemed as if he were nailed down, unable to move.
"Wang Jun, this seems to be a controlled puppet," Feng Ju's expression turned serious.
I squinted and nodded, glancing around but finding nothing unusual.
Just as I was about to turn away, a wisp of black mist drifted toward us from a distance, tightening my chest with unease. The puppeteer must be nearby.
I exchanged a glance with Feng Ju, who understood immediately and darted toward that direction while I remained on-site to observe.
