The woman's eyes blazed with increasing fury, and at the same time, a mysterious power surged within Wang Niu, leaving him momentarily stunned. This power seemed to resonate with the intensity of the situation.
In an instant, Wang Niu heard the agonized cries of the monsters. He quickly turned to look, only to see terrifying cracks appearing on the creatures' bodies. Meanwhile, dark mist began to emanate from the woman, swirling around her like a ferocious beast as it lunged toward the monsters, enveloping them completely. In just a short while, the creatures vanished from her sight, leaving Wang Niu in shock; he had not anticipated such formidable abilities from her.
Then, the woman's gaze shifted to Wang Niu, causing his heart to race in fear. At that moment, she sensed something and immediately extended her hand, revealing a long whip that appeared in her grasp.
With a sudden motion, she swung it to the left, and a strange monster materialized in mid-air, looking incredibly menacing. The woman struck again with her whip towards the creature, but it seemed to anticipate her move and quickly burrowed underground.
Wang Niu was taken aback; this monster was clearly powerful if it could evade so swiftly.
"Come out!" the woman shouted at the creature, but for some reason, it refused to show itself.
In response, a ball of black fire appeared in her hand, sending a chill down Wang Niu's spine. Surely she wasn't planning to burn the monster alive?
Taking a deep breath, she struck the ground with the fireball. Instantly, flames erupted from where it landed.
The monster let out a terrified scream as it burst forth from the ground. Seizing this opportunity, the woman lunged forward and pinned it down. The creature emitted a pained wail.
A subtle smile crept onto the woman's lips as she approached the struggling monster.
Its face turned increasingly pale as a brilliant white light suddenly erupted from its body and was absorbed into her.
Soon after, calm returned to the area as she turned her gaze toward Wang Niu.
His heart skipped a beat; he was uncertain of her true intentions for appearing before him.
Wang Niu remained silent, watching her intently. She did not speak either; they held each other's gaze for a moment before she walked up to him and released him from her grip. "Follow me," she commanded coldly.
Her tone sent shivers down his spine. "Who are you? Why did you save me?" he asked.
The woman did not respond but continued walking ahead. Wang Niu felt frustrated by her silence. As they walked, he struggled with what to say and ultimately fell silent himself.
After a while, she stopped and turned to face him. Wang Niu halted immediately, looking at her with curiosity.
"Go," she said simply.
Suddenly, the woman's hand drew a line in the air, and in just a moment, a door appeared before Wang Niu.
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned, unable to believe what he was seeing.
"What is this?" he asked the woman, puzzled.
"This is the door to your world. You should hurry and leave; this place is not suitable for you," the woman said coldly.
Wang Niu shook his head at her. "No, I can't leave yet. The people I need to save haven't come out. I can't just walk away like this."
The woman was taken aback for a moment, her expression immediately turning serious. "Do you want to die here? Do you realize that you have no power in this place?"
Wang Niu paused, then raised his hand, trying to summon Divine Power. However, it seemed as the woman had said; he couldn't muster even a bit of Divine Power. This filled Wang Niu with deep concern. If that were the case, he would truly be in danger.
"What should I do? Can you help me?" Wang Niu's heart filled with worry as he spoke to the woman.
"Are you crazy? How could I possibly help you?" she replied.
Upon hearing this, Wang Niu felt a wave of disappointment wash over him. "No matter what, I still have to save them from this world and then take them away with me."
The woman's expression stiffened as she looked at Wang Niu in disbelief. "Do you realize that doing this could cost you your life?"
Wang Niu knew that all too well, but there was nothing he could do. Feng Ju was his good brother, Xiaomei was his best friend, and Ruoxi—he could never abandon her.
Seeing that Wang Niu remained resolute, the woman sighed and turned away from him.
Watching her retreating figure, Wang Niu felt a pang of regret. Since she wouldn't help him, he would have to help himself.
Wang Niu made his way to a desolate area that seemed devoid of any other monsters.
He sat down, wanting to test whether he truly couldn't exert any strength in this place.
Just as he was about to try, a voice echoed nearby, causing Wang Niu's heart to race with anxiety. He glanced around and saw two monsters approaching. Startled, he quickly hid himself and watched the two creatures with trepidation.
"I heard that the lord of Wind Manor is holding a competition. Should we go and participate?" one monster suggested.
"Competition? What competition?" The companions around him suddenly showed expressions of surprise.
"It's a contest to see who is stronger. The winner can obtain the Dark Power! This Dark Power is a great thing, just like Divine Power; it allows you to cast Spells."
"Really? If that's the case, we definitely have to participate!"
"Well, I estimate our chances are slim because this event is too difficult, and there are many participants. I don't know if we can make it."
"What are you afraid of? Let's give it a try; maybe we can succeed."
Soon, the voices of the two monsters grew fainter. Wang Niu looked over and, seeing that there were no monsters around, couldn't help but sigh. He stood up, his mind replaying the words of those two monsters.
Why couldn't he give it a try?
With that thought, Wang Niu stood up. He glanced around and realized that he couldn't just walk over like this. Suddenly, an idea struck him.
He transformed himself into a monster and then left the area, heading to the place mentioned by the two monsters earlier.
Upon arriving at Wind Manor, he discovered that there were too many creatures here. No, to be precise, it was those monsters; they seemed very interested in this competition. This made Wang Niu sigh deeply; if too many monsters participated, his chances of winning would be very slim.
After a while, the gates of Wind Manor opened, and several large monsters walked out. They immediately surrounded him. Wang Niu looked at the monsters before him and realized they must be the organizers from Wind Manor.
Wang Niu joined the crowd. The tall monster scanned the gathered creatures and noticed their respectful expressions. It felt quite pleased and said to everyone, "I know you all came here for this competition, but our Wind Manor has set a new rule: based on first impressions, we will decide who is suitable to participate in this event. Those deemed unsuitable will not be allowed to join."
As soon as these words fell, the monsters present were taken aback and protested, "That's not fair!"
"Yeah, it's unfair! Why should we follow this rule?"
The tall monster looked at the protesting creatures and let out a faint smirk. "Since you disagree, then you can just go die."
As soon as the words were spoken, a sphere of Black Light appeared in the monster's hand. In an instant, it struck the few dissenting monsters in front of it, and within a blink, those monsters vanished.
Everyone present screamed in terror, their eyes filled with fear as they looked up at the towering monster. Even Wang Niu wore a frightened expression; these monsters were truly volatile.
Speaking of volatility, a woman flashed through Wang Niu's mind. He wondered where she had gone.
Then, the monster began to choose, and several other monsters were selected by it.
Wang Niu felt a wave of anxiety wash over him, unsure if he would be chosen. Just then, the monster passed right by him but didn’t even glance his way.
This left Wang Niu astonished. What was happening?
As he watched those around him being chosen one by one, he felt a growing sense of dread.
Suddenly, the monster turned its gaze toward him and said, "Do you want to go in too?"
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned and nodded vigorously at the monster. Suddenly, a cold glint appeared on the monster's face, causing Wang Niu's heart to skip a beat. Was it not allowed?
Then the monster said to him, "You can go in."
Wang Niu was taken aback. Was it really that simple?
He stepped forward and entered. In an instant, he was thrown back out by a tremendous force and landed heavily outside.
Just then, the monster approached him with a puzzled look. "What happened to you?"
Wang Niu was equally confused; why had he felt such immense energy? The other monsters had entered without any issue.
"What are you standing there for? Get back in!" The monster urged him. Reluctantly, Wang Niu stepped inside again. This time, nothing happened at all. His confusion deepened; he had expected to compete immediately upon entering. However, to his surprise, once inside, they were told they would rest for the night and compete the next day.
As Wang Niu surveyed his surroundings, he was puzzled by the thick black mist that obscured everything before him.
At that moment, the monster returned and nudged Wang Niu. "What are you doing standing there? Hurry up and rest! Don’t say I didn’t warn you—if you wander around outside and anger our lady here, you might lose your head!"
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned, the young lady.
Before he could react, a clear laughter echoed from a distance, sending a chill down Wang Niu's spine. A sudden sense of dread washed over him. At that moment, the creature beside him also changed its expression and urged Wang Niu, "Quick, kneel down! Otherwise, you'll die soon."
Without thinking twice, Wang Niu dropped to his knees, obeying the creature's command.
Then, he felt a cold sensation creeping up his back, causing his heart to race. He dared not look up. Suddenly, he sensed movement behind him, intensifying his anxiety.
"Who are you?" a girl's voice whispered in Wang Niu's ear.
He kept his head down, lowering his body even further.
"Speak!" A powerful force suddenly lifted Wang Niu off the ground. His heart skipped a beat as he stood up abruptly. Before him appeared a terrifying woman. Wang Niu's heart raced again as she slowly approached him, her gaze carrying an eerie undertone. "Why aren't you speaking?"
Instinctively, Wang Niu took a few steps back. The woman was too frightening; there was something strange flickering in her eyes that made him gasp.
After she spoke again, Wang Niu's mind went blank.
"I think you're quite good-looking; how about marrying me?"
"What?" Wang Niu was taken aback. Surely this woman wasn't joking?
Seeing the unwilling expression on Wang Niu's face, the woman became angry. "Do you think that's unacceptable?"
Wang Niu quickly shook his head. "No, that's not what I meant."
He realized that if he didn't agree to the woman’s proposal, he might suffer her wrath. To save Ruoxi and the others, he needed to rely on her power.
The woman looked at Wang Niu and smiled.
Taking a deep breath, Wang Niu noticed that the creature beside him was genuinely frightened by the woman; it had thought she would kill him.
"Alright, from now on, you are my Consort," the woman declared as she pulled Wang Niu into an embrace.
Wang Niu was startled by her boldness and forced an awkward smile.
Meanwhile, the creature kneeling on the ground hurriedly congratulated them both. "Congratulations, Miss! Congratulations, Consort!"
After she finished speaking, a joyful expression appeared on the woman's face as she said to the monster, "Send the word down; I will marry Consort tonight."
Just as the woman's words left her lips, a voice of opposition suddenly rang out from not far away.
"No way." This voice startled both Wang Niu and the woman.
They turned their gazes forward and saw an Old Monster approaching them. He looked at Wang Niu and the woman and said, "I do not agree to this."
Upon hearing the elder's words, the woman was momentarily stunned, then immediately expressed her dissatisfaction, saying to him, "Father, why? I oppose this."
The woman was taken aback by the elder's words and said, "Dad, why? I finally found a man I like, and you oppose it just like that."
The elder looked at her and sighed. "Child, it's not that I oppose you; it's that this monster's energy is too weak. Do you know how low this monster's energy is?"
The woman looked at Wang Niu and replied to the elder, "I don't know, but I like him. So what if his energy is low? I don't care, Father; I want him."
Her determination left the elder feeling helpless, and he had no choice but to agree with her.
At the moment the elder consented to her wishes, everything around them turned fiery red as if celebrating a joyous occasion.
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned. Indeed, these creatures had energy. If he could transfer all their energy to himself, he would surely be able to rescue Ruoxi and the others.
It was at that moment that Wang Niu found himself inexplicably floating in the air; he realized that the woman had transferred her energy to him.
This revelation filled Wang Niu with astonishment. He couldn't believe it. At the same time, he felt something strange within himself as he looked at the woman. Her face displayed an expression he couldn't quite understand. Then Wang Niu landed back on the ground as the woman extended her hand toward him with a joyful expression. "From now on, you are my husband. Here, take this."
The woman pulled out a token from her bosom, leaving Wang Niu momentarily speechless. It was indeed a token.
After a brief pause, Wang Niu took the token from her hand. He was stunned; it seemed to be a token of Wind Mansion. It was so important that she gave it to him.
In that instant, Wang Niu felt an overwhelming excitement and asked her, "Why are you giving this to me?"
Beside him, Old Monster wore a complex expression. He had not expected the woman to directly hand the token to Wang Niu.
Old Monster looked at Wang Niu, seemingly wanting to say something but holding back. Just then, the woman placed the token into Wang Niu's hands. He was momentarily stunned but accepted it without hesitation.
"Hey, come here," Old Monster said as he pulled the woman over, clearly displeased with her actions and scolding her.
The woman's face showed her dissatisfaction, but she dared not express any defiance towards Old Monster.
This made Wang Niu's heart skip a beat. Could it be that the token in her hands was about to be taken away?
After a while, Old Monster released the woman and gave her a meaningful glance before disappearing.
Wang Niu felt increasingly uneasy and turned his gaze toward the woman.
The corners of her mouth slowly curled into a smile, sending a chill down Wang Niu's spine. At that moment, he sensed something amiss. Just as he was about to speak, a sudden wave of dizziness washed over him, and he collapsed.
He had no idea how long he had been unconscious when he finally woke up. An inexplicable sense of unease lingered in his heart. When he fully took in his surroundings, he froze in shock. Monsters filled the space around him; it felt as if they were attending his wedding.
His gaze fell on the terrifying woman standing right in front of him, staring at him with wide eyes. Wang Niu couldn't help but gasp in fear.
With a loud cheer, the monsters pushed him into the bridal chamber. Taking a deep breath, he realized someone had closed the door behind him.
Wang Niu inhaled deeply; soon enough, that woman would come for him. He wondered what his fate would be.
After waiting for what felt like an eternity, the woman still hadn't arrived, causing Wang Niu's guard to lower slightly. Just then, footsteps echoed from outside the door, instantly raising his alertness. Could it be that woman?
The door swung open, revealing the woman. Wang Niu sprang to his feet. She appeared to have drunk quite a bit; her cheeks were flushed red, which worried him greatly. What if she turned on him?
Wang Niu quickly maintained a safe distance from her, but her gaze locked onto him, causing his heart to race with dread. Suddenly, her eyes turned bloodshot. Wang Niu felt a jolt of fear and instinctively avoided her gaze.
