"Why aren't you speaking?" The woman walked up to Wang Niu, glancing at the Ugly Woman lying on the ground.
Wang Niu cleared his throat and asked the woman, "Who exactly are you?"
The woman looked at Wang Niu's face, her expression becoming complex. "Don't you know?"
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned. How could he possibly know? Although the woman had a face identical to Ruoxi's, she was clearly not just Ruoxi.
Wang Niu shook his head at the woman. She looked at him with a cold smile, sending a chill down his spine.
After a moment, the woman took the initiative to say to Wang Niu, "From now on, call me Bai Yu."
Wang Niu struggled to recall this name, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't place it. Seeing Wang Niu's puzzled expression, Bai Yu's eyes filled with disdain as she said, "Aren't you going to leave?"
Wang Niu quickly nodded. To be honest, he really didn't want to marry that Ugly Woman.
Bai Yu gave Wang Niu a calm glance before walking out the door. Seeing this, Wang Niu followed her.
They arrived at a wall, and Wang Niu paused for a moment, confused about what the woman was doing.
Bai Yu pointed at the wall, and suddenly a beam of light appeared in front of Wang Niu. He was taken aback as Bai Yu stepped into it.
Wang Niu stood there in disbelief, astonished by Bai Yu's abilities.
"What is this?"
Just as Wang Niu muttered to himself, he heard Bai Yu's voice calling him from within. "Hurry up and come over; soon you won't be able to leave."
As Wang Niu prepared to step inside after hearing her voice, he suddenly heard some noises behind him. He instinctively turned around and saw monsters charging toward him as if they wanted to kill him.
Wang Niu froze in shock. At that moment, Bai Yu happened to walk out from the wall. Seeing Wang Niu in a daze, she shook her head helplessly. Did this fool want her to catch him?
Bai Yu directly grabbed Wang Niu and pulled him inside.
At the moment Wang Niu stepped in, the monsters were just about to reach him but were halted.
Bai Yu led Wang Niu away from that place.
They arrived at a quiet place. Wang Niu looked around, noticing that it seemed different from anywhere he had been before.
"Where is this?" Wang Niu asked Bai Yu. Bai Yu turned to him and said, "This is Baiyu Palace, my territory."
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned by Bai Yu's words. This place was actually Bai Yu's territory, and it looked so vast. But who exactly was Bai Yu? How could she always find him in times of urgency?
"What exactly are you in this place?" Wang Niu asked curiously.
Bai Yu smiled and replied, "Did you not hear them calling me Princess Bai Yu earlier?"
Princess.
Wang Niu's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at Bai Yu. "Are you saying that you are the most important person in this world?"
Bai Yu shook her head and said, "Not really. Above us, there is the Dark King. We are merely Guardians; there are many princesses like me."
Wang Niu was still somewhat surprised. He looked at Bai Yu, seemingly wanting to ask something more, but then he thought of something and closed his mouth.
Bai Yu gave him a deep look and said, "If you want to ask me something, just go ahead."
Wang Niu looked at Bai Yu and asked, "Do you know where my friends are?"
Upon hearing Wang Niu's question, Bai Yu's expression changed instantly. She said to him, "From now on, don't ask about this anymore."
Wang Niu was taken aback, looking at Bai Yu in confusion. He didn't understand why her emotions were so volatile.
"Why?"
Bai Yu's face darkened immediately as she angrily replied to Wang Niu, "There’s no reason. I told you not to ask, so don’t ask."
Wang Niu was startled by Bai Yu's reaction. At the same time, he felt a bit frustrated and said to her, "Alright then."
Afterward, Wang Niu sat down with a dejected look on his face. Bai Yu glanced at him and seemed a bit guilty. She said to Wang Niu, "Although I can't tell you where they are, I can promise you one thing as a way to repay you."
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned, not quite understanding why Bai Yu was suddenly being so nice to him.
Seeing Wang Niu's bewildered expression, Bai Yu asked, "What's wrong? Don't you want it?"
How could Wang Niu not want it? He quickly nodded at Bai Yu and said, "I do want it, but can you give me energy?"
Listening to Wang Niu's words, Bai Yu hesitated for a moment but still agreed. She said to Wang Niu, "I can."
Wang Niu was surprised by Bai Yu's response; he felt a surge of excitement as he saw her extend her hand toward him. In that moment, he also reached out his hand.
Bai Yu's hand rested on Wang Niu's, but then she seemed to sense something and her expression changed for the worse.
Suddenly, dark mist began to swirl around Wang Niu. When he noticed the black aura surrounding him, he froze in confusion and looked at Bai Yu, asking, "What’s going on?"
Bai Yu looked just as puzzled as she gazed at Wang Niu. After a moment, she said, "How do you have the aura of that Ugly Woman? Have you merged with her?"
Wang Niu was taken aback; how could that be possible? Just as he was about to respond about the woman, a thought struck him. Previously, that Ugly Woman had seemed to transfer energy to him. Could it be that something went wrong when she did?
"What are you doing?" Wang Niu suddenly realized that the woman seemed to be blowing air toward him.
Before long, he felt a sensation as if his body were about to float away.
Wang Niu was stunned and said to Bai Yu, "What are you doing? This isn't good for you!"
Finally understanding what was happening, Wang Niu realized that Bai Yu was trying to draw out the dark energy from him. In an instant, he felt something shift within him.
Bai Yu heard his words but did not stop; she continued to look at him intently.
This made Wang Niu feel increasingly guilty as he said to Bai Yu, "Bai Yu, if this continues, your body won't be able to handle it."
As soon as he finished speaking, he noticed a hint of pain appear on Bai Yu's face.
Wang Niu's heart sank at that moment; an uneasy feeling washed over him.
"Are you okay?" Suddenly, Bai Yu collapsed onto the ground, her face pale.
Wang Niu was startled and rushed to help her up.
Bai Yu's complexion worsened even more. This made Wang Niu feel anxious; he wanted to transfer energy to her, but she couldn't accept the aura from him.
He felt helpless and didn't know what to do.
After a while, Bai Yu's complexion gradually improved. Just as Wang Niu was about to speak, Bai Yu interrupted him, saying, "Don't worry. I wasn't paying attention earlier. The dark mist isn't my aura. To eliminate it, I need to absorb the black mist into my body and then expel it; that's the only way."
Wang Niu looked at Bai Yu, feeling a deeper sense of pity for her. At that moment, the dark mist had vanished from his body. He took a deep breath, and suddenly, a clear surge of power welled up within him. He said to Bai Yu, "Bai Yu, I feel much better now, and I owe it all to the strength you gave me."
This made Bai Yu's heart lighten a little.
She stood up and glanced around before asking Wang Niu, "What are your plans now?"
Upon hearing Bai Yu's question, Wang Niu's expression dimmed. In truth, he felt very confused and had no idea what to do next.
As Wang Niu pondered over Bai Yu's words, it seemed that she suddenly understood something. She looked at him and said, "Why don't you stay by my side?"
Wang Niu was taken aback, staring at Bai Yu in disbelief. "You mean you want me to stay here?"
Bai Yu nodded at him. However, Wang Niu felt hesitant. Staying here wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but it meant he would lose his freedom. Moreover, he couldn't just trust Bai Yu because she had helped him with a couple of things; after all, she was from this world. If he thought about it carefully, Bai Yu was still his enemy.
While Wang Niu was caught in this internal struggle, Bai Yu spoke again. "Don't hesitate. I won't harm you. I know why you're here."
As soon as Bai Yu finished speaking, Wang Niu froze in disbelief. "You mean you will help me?"
Bai Yu didn't formally nod but simply looked at him in silence. This left Wang Niu puzzled; he couldn't quite grasp what Bai Yu was thinking. But perhaps that was fine.
In the end, Wang Niu nodded at Bai Yu. She smiled and said, "Isn't this great? If someone said that to me, I would definitely agree."
Wang Niu replied, "I don't quite understand why you want to help me."
Bai Yu looked at him with a complex expression. In truth, she didn't know why she wanted to help Wang Niu either. The reason she appeared by his side so quickly was that she had noticed the changes in the stars; it was the shift in the celestial patterns that led her to find him.
Seeing that Bai Yu remained silent, Wang Niu said, "Alright, I won't ask anymore. Since I'm staying on your territory, just tell me if you need anything. I'll do my best to serve you."
Bai Yu was momentarily stunned by Wang Niu's words and couldn't help but smile as she asked, "Okay, can you cook?"
Wang Niu was taken aback by her question. Did Bai Yu want to eat what he cooked?
"What’s wrong with you?"
Bai Yu couldn't help but laugh at Wang Niu's dazed expression.
"What's wrong? Can't you cook?"
As soon as Wang Niu saw Bai Yu mocking him, a surge of frustration welled up inside. Who said he couldn't cook? He had been making meals for A Yao all along.
"Who said I can't? What do you want to eat?" Wang Niu said proudly, looking at Bai Yu. Seeing the expression on Wang Niu's face made Bai Yu chuckle even more.
Bai Yu then said to Wang Niu, "But you said it yourself."
A mischievous smile flashed in Bai Yu's eyes, causing Wang Niu's heart to skip a beat. He asked Wang Niu, "Can you make boiled beef?"
Wang Niu paused for a moment after hearing Bai Yu's question and replied, "What dish is that?"
Bai Yu continued, "I also want to eat human brain."
Wang Niu's mouth twitched, and he felt a wave of nausea rising within him. He said to Bai Yu, "Please don't say that! If you keep going, I'm going to be sick."
Wang Niu's words instantly made Bai Yu burst into laughter. "But that was what you just said!"
Wang Niu shot Bai Yu an exasperated glance. Yes, he had said it, but he never claimed he could actually make those dishes. Who knew Bai Yu had such a heavy taste?
Taking a deep breath, Wang Niu noticed how frightened Bai Yu looked and smiled back at him. "Alright, I won't scare you anymore. Just tell me what food you can make."
Finally relieved, Wang Niu felt a bit lost. This world was nothing like the one he had been in before; where would he find the ingredients?
Seeing Wang Niu in a daze, Bai Yu became curious and asked him what was wrong.
Wang Niu took a deep breath and asked Bai Yu, "Do you have any other ingredients here?"
Bai Yu was momentarily taken aback before realizing that their world was different from Wang Niu's. They were of the same kind; it wouldn't do to have Wang Niu use the bodies of his own kind for cooking—it would terrify him.
Watching Bai Yu seem lost in thought, Wang Niu didn't want to interrupt. Just then, he seemed to hear the sound of flowing water.
This made Wang Niu's eyes light up as he turned to Bai Yu and asked, "Bai Yu, do you have fish here?"
Bai Yu nodded at Wang Niu and said, "Yes, the fish here are the same as the ones in your world."
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned. After all, Bai Yu was a person from this world; how could she only know about the fish from their world?
"Wait, how do you know that?"
Upon hearing Wang Niu's question, Bai Yu suddenly understood. Wang Niu explained, "It's something I heard before. Other princesses mentioned that the fish here were brought over by our Demon King from your world."
Wang Niu paused for a moment, then pointed at the things in front of him and asked Bai Yu, "Can I go catch some fish?"
Bai Yu immediately nodded and said, "Of course, go ahead."
Wang Niu walked straight toward the river. As soon as he arrived, he saw a pond full of fish. This left Wang Niu momentarily speechless as he turned to Bai Yu and asked, "Why aren't you eating all these fish in the river?"
If this were in the human realm, he was sure they would quickly become a feast.
Bai Yu shook her head.
Wang Niu looked at Bai Yu curiously but then thought it was quite normal and nodded.
Before long, Wang Niu had caught many fish and placed them in a nearby basket.
Seeing so many fish, Bai Yu felt puzzled. Would they be able to eat all of this?
However, noticing the interest in Wang Niu's eyes, she decided not to disturb him.
As Wang Niu continued to catch fish, he suddenly pulled out something to show Bai Yu.
Bai Yu looked at him in confusion. What was this?
Wang Niu's eyes sparkled with unusual excitement. After a while, he carried the basket to a certain spot.
At that moment, it was Bai Yu's borrowed kitchen.
Bai Yu waited outside while Wang Niu busied himself inside.
Watching Wang Niu's busy figure from behind, Bai Yu felt a bit dazed. After some time, it seemed that Wang Niu had finished.
Curious, Bai Yu walked in and was instantly taken aback. Was he planning to eat raw fish?
"What are you doing?" Bai Yu asked as she entered.
"I'm cooking for you," Wang Niu replied. Upon hearing her voice, he turned around. Bai Yu's gaze fell on the plates of raw fish in front of her as she asked Wang Niu, "Are we eating this raw?"
"Wang Niu" shook her head at "Bai Yu" and said, "No, it's not ready yet."
After "Wang Niu" spoke, "Bai Yu" suddenly saw the stove in front of her burst into flames.
In an instant, "Wang Niu" poured all the fish into the fire, and a huge spark erupted right in front of "Bai Yu," leaving her momentarily stunned.
"Wang Niu" glanced back at "Bai Yu" and said, "This is my specialty. Don't be afraid; you'll see how delicious it is soon."
After a while, "Bai Yu" seemed to catch a whiff of the aroma that "Wang Niu" had mentioned, and it truly smelled wonderful.
"So fragrant!" "Bai Yu" couldn't help but compliment "Wang Niu." "Wang Niu" nodded in response and continued with her work. Just then, a monster suddenly walked in.
"Not good, Princess! That 'Ugly Woman' named 'Aning' is coming!"
Upon hearing the monster's words, "Bai Yu" froze for a moment, her expression darkening. Meanwhile, the busy "Wang Niu" also heard what the monster said and asked, "What does she want here?"
The monster looked at "Wang Niu" with confusion, as if questioning why there was a man beside the princess.
At that moment, an explosion sounded; it was the 'Ugly Woman' accompanied by others.
"See? This is all your doing," "Bai Yu" shot a glare at "Wang Niu."
Feeling a bit embarrassed, "Wang Niu" smiled sheepishly at "Bai Yu," saying, "I didn't mean to!"
With a sigh, "Bai Yu" followed the monster to confront the 'Ugly Woman.'
Seeing this, "Wang Niu" also went along with "Bai Yu."
When "Bai Yu" noticed "Wang Niu," she was taken aback and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"Wang Niu," smiling apologetically, replied, "Of course I'm here to help you. I can't just stand by and watch you get bullied by that 'Ugly Woman.'"
"Bai Yu" was initially stunned but then burst into laughter. She said to "Wang Niu," "Aren't you afraid of being taken back by that 'Ugly Woman' for helping me?"
Wang Niu was taken aback by Bai Yu's words, a hint of embarrassment creeping onto his face.
"Alright, I won't scare you anymore. Since you want to come, just come," Bai Yu said.
As the two of them stepped out the door, they were met by the sight of the Ugly Woman and her gang appearing right in front of them. Wang Niu's heart skipped a beat as he turned to Bai Yu and said, "That woman seems to be coming at us with a lot of force."
Bai Yu was well aware of this too. He replied to Wang Niu, "Are you scared?"
Wang Niu shook his head and said to Bai Yu, "No, I'm just worried that this woman will tear your place apart."
Upon hearing this, Bai Yu couldn't help but laugh, which left Wang Niu feeling puzzled. Was it really that funny?
Just as they were joking around, the Ugly Woman in front of them lost her composure and struck out at them with her palm.
In an instant, Bai Yu seemed to sense something and quickly moved towards Wang Niu. At that moment, the Ugly Woman's palm slammed into the entrance.
The sign above Bai Yu's door came crashing down.
A loud noise echoed through the air.
"Oh my God, this Nasty Woman is so violent!" Wang Niu couldn't help but exclaim.
Just then, the Nasty Woman heard his comment and immediately aimed a palm strike at him. However, Bai Yu stepped in front of Wang Niu and blocked the attack meant for him.
Wang Niu took a deep breath; he had almost been hit by this Nasty Woman.
"Hey, who do you think you are to meddle in my affairs?" the Nasty Woman shouted at Bai Yu.
"Just because he is my man," Bai Yu replied confidently.
After saying that, Bai Yu leaned in and kissed Wang Niu right in front of him. Wang Niu was momentarily stunned; what was happening?
"What did you just say?" The Ugly Woman was also taken aback. She looked at Wang Niu and said, "You’re actually her man?"
Wang Niu was startled by the anger on the Ugly Woman's face; it seemed she was going to kill him.
Wang Niu took a deep breath, and just then, Bai Yu subtly nudged him and said, "Speak up! If you don't say anything, the Ugly Woman will keep staring at you."
