Seeing Ruoxi's dazed expression, Wang Niu's heart tightened with anxiety. "I'm fine!" Ruoxi weakly replied. Wang Niu let out a deep breath; as long as Ruoxi was okay, he wouldn't forgive himself if anything happened to her.
"Wang Jun, help me up!" Upon hearing Ruoxi's words, Wang Niu immediately reacted and said, "Okay, I'll help you up!" He carefully assisted Ruoxi to her feet and secretly channeled energy into her. Although he had just given her a lot of energy, it had returned to him. Ruoxi must be very weak right now.
Ruoxi suddenly froze. "Wang Jun, why did you give me your energy?" Wang Niu smiled but didn't respond, which made Ruoxi feel guilty. If she hadn't been fully conscious earlier, she might have hurt Wang Jun!
Wang Niu had given half of his energy to Wang Jun, causing his face to turn pale. At that moment, Ruoxi noticed something was off with Wang Niu's complexion. "Wang Jun, what's wrong with you?" Ruoxi's voice trembled slightly.
"We need to leave here first!" Ruoxi paused for a moment, looked around, and then said to Wang Niu, "Alright, let's go now!" They quickly left the area.
Ruoxi found a safe place. Now that Wang Niu had no energy left, if someone were to ambush them, they would be at a disadvantage. "Wang Jun, I’ll give you all my energy back; I can't watch you become weak!" After saying that, Ruoxi reached out her hand to transfer her energy to Wang Niu.
Wang Niu immediately stopped her. "No need!" Ruoxi looked at him in confusion. "Help me up!" he insisted.
Ruoxi nodded and helped him stand. Although he had given all his strength to her, he could still use the surrounding energy to replenish himself.
"What are you doing?" Ruoxi asked curiously. Wang Niu explained, "I'm converting the surrounding energy into my own."
Ruoxi was stunned and couldn't believe it. "Wang Jun, is that really possible?" She remembered that this wasn't how things worked in this world unless it was in the human realm! But after hearing what Wang Niu said earlier, it seemed plausible.
Before long, Ruoxi saw a surge of energy around Wang Niu, which astonished her; it truly was energy! But how could this happen?
"Wang Jun, what is this?" Wang Niu took a while before responding after absorbing the gas around him. "Because I have two types of energy within me!"
Ruoxi was taken aback and couldn't believe what she heard. She realized that there were indeed two different energies inside him! "How do you have..." A hint of sadness crossed Ruoxi's eyes as she sensed a feminine presence within Wang Niu.
Could it be... Ruoxi dared not think further. Looking at Wang Niu made her heart ache; it felt like a knot had formed in her chest.
"What happened?" Wang Niu was puzzled; why did Ruoxi's expression change so suddenly? Seeing her distressed look made his heart sink. He pulled her into an embrace. "Ruoxi, please don't cry; it truly hurts my heart when you do!"
Tears streamed down Ruoxi's face unexpectedly! Seeing this made Wang Niu even more anxious. "Please tell me what's wrong!"
Ruoxi sniffed and looked up at him. "Tell me if you have another woman!"
At those words, Wang Niu froze in disbelief. How could he have another woman? Even if he did, it would only be her!
"Ruoxi, I realize there's only one person by my side!" Wang Niu looked at her earnestly. He hoped his words would convince her.
Ruoxi gazed back at him and asked, "Really?"
Wang Niu replied seriously, "Really!"
Yet Ruoxi still wore an expression of disbelief, making Wang Niu feel helpless. He said gently, "Ruoxi, just say it; there's nothing we can't talk about!"
With a sigh, Ruoxi said, "But I sensed a woman's presence on you!"
Upon hearing this from Ruoxi, Wang Niu was momentarily stunned before realizing what she meant. He helplessly explained: "The presence you're sensing is from when I arrived here and encountered danger; someone saved me and transferred their aura to me! She's also a woman!"
Ruoxi was shocked and asked incredulously, "Is the woman named Bai Yu?"
Wang Niu was taken aback and couldn't believe she knew Bai Yu's name! "How do you know Bai Yu?"
Ruoxi explained, "Wasn't I controlled by the Second Demon Consort? Although I've broken free from that control now, the memories remain in my mind!"
Wang Niu looked at her in confusion. "Are you saying that the Second Demon Consort not only wanted you to kill me but also wanted you to kill yourself?"
Ruoxi nodded gravely. "Yes; she also wanted to eliminate the Demon King!"
This made Wang Niu's heart grow heavy as he said urgently: "We need to leave now! Bai Yu is waiting for us at the border!"
Upon hearing this statement, Ruoxi's expression turned complex but she didn't say anything else; she simply nodded and followed behind Wang Niu.
The two traveled in silence for a while. Wang Niu felt something had changed between them.
"Ruoxi, what's wrong?" Suddenly he asked with concern.
Ruoxi lifted her head and replied softly: "I'm fine!"
"Ruoxi," he continued earnestly, "if you're still upset about what happened earlier, please tell me; I promise I'll do better! You have my word that you're the only one in my heart!"
Ruoxi knew he meant it but couldn't shake off the feeling of unease whenever she thought about another woman being in his heart.
"Speak up!"
Wang Niu urged her gently.
At that moment, Ruoxi pouted slightly and admitted: "I just can't help but care about the presence of another woman on you!"
Hearing this made Wang Niu chuckle; so she was jealous!
"What are you laughing at?" Ruoxi frowned; instead of comforting her he laughed!
"I wasn't laughing at anything; I just realized my wife is jealous!" he teased.
Ruoxi's face flushed red as she retorted: "I'm not jealous!"
Wang Niu placed his hand over his heart seriously: "Did you not say you didn't want any other woman's aura on me? Alright then; I'll get rid of it right now!"
With that said, a thick aura appeared in his hand. Ruoxi was taken aback; she never expected him to actually bring out that aura!
"Wang Jun!"
At that moment, a dense gas materialized in his hand—this was the aura Bai Yu had given him earlier. As he moved his mouth slightly and ignited the aura with fire in an instant, it burned away completely until only ashes remained.
Wang Niu brushed off the ashes and said: "See? It's gone! I'm not letting anyone else's aura enter my body anymore!"
For some reason, Ruoxi felt sweetness fill her heart as if all negative emotions had vanished!
"Are you happy now? Feeling better?" Wang Niu asked gently.
A smile crept onto Ruoxi's lips involuntarily which eased Wang Niu's worries.
"Let's go!"
Ruoxi nodded just then they heard many voices approaching them suddenly causing Wang Niu's heart to skip a beat as he warned: “Not good; it might be the Demon King's people!”
With that said an aggressive aura surged toward them making both Ruoxi and Wang Niu freeze in place!
"Don't move!" Wang Niu instructed firmly.
"What’s happening? Wang Niu?" Ruoxi’s face turned pale instantly!
Wang Niu scanned their surroundings before explaining: “There’s no one from the Demon King here; this is just an illusion created by his spell! If we stay still we’ll be attacked by it just like before!”
Hearing this made Ruoxi’s face go white again as she asked anxiously: “Wang Jun what should we do?”
Taking a deep breath,Wang Niu replied: “Don’t move yet; let me assess the situation!”
Ruoxi nodded when suddenly an unfamiliar voice echoed into their ears causing Wang Niu to turn sharply just as a long sword came hurtling towards him leaving him stunned in disbelief!
"Wang Jun! What’s wrong?" Ruoxi asked worriedly.
At that moment,Wang Niu’s face turned grave!
“Do you remember this sword?” His tone became urgent!
Ruoxi blinked staring at the sword before them—it seemed familiar!
Suddenly realization struck her making her expression shift dramatically!
