Jono held her diamond-encrusted phone, feeling inexplicably hot.
Yan Beiting seemed to act without a second thought as he snatched Jono's phone and pressed the reject button!
"What are you doing?" Jono exclaimed, staring at her phone that Yan Beiting had just turned off, wondering if this man was being overly controlling.
"Get in the car."
"I'm not getting in. Why should I listen to you? Give me back my phone!"
"I'll return your phone if you get in the car with me." Yan Beiting raised the phone high.
"Stop messing around! We're not close, and I have urgent matters to attend to."
"Is it about the trouble you caused for Ruan Shengyu? It's not exactly a big deal that requires an explanation," Yan Beiting said casually regarding the matter.
"Huh? You know?" Jono looked at Yan Beiting in confusion.
It made sense, considering Yan Beiting's relationship with Jin Chengyan; it wasn't surprising that he knew Ruan Shengyu was Jin Chengyan's girlfriend.
"Unless I choose not to know," Yan Beiting said as he pushed Jono into the car.
Jono felt lost in this situation. Now that Yan Beiting revealed he knew more, she naturally had no intention of leaving.
Yan Beiting walked around the front of the car and quickly drove off in his sleek black sports car.
"Tell me, what is your relationship with Ayan?" Yan Beiting seemed particularly concerned about her connection with Jin Chengyan. "His girlfriend?"
"Not really..." Jono felt she might have trusted the wrong person.
"Is he pursuing you?"
"How could that be possible!" Jono laughed lightly.
"True, he probably doesn't like your type."
"Hey, that's a personal attack!" Jono shot Jin Chengyan a glare.
"I'm just speaking the truth. He likes someone who is... well, gentle and gracious, smart and agile, someone who knows how to handle situations."
"Oh." Jono nodded, not really interested in what Jin Chengyan liked in women. "Hey, are you implying that I'm not gentle and gracious, not smart and agile, and that I don't know how to handle situations? Yan Beiting, you're not just hypocritical; you're also sharp-tongued. Is it really necessary to say such things about a girl?"
It was only after understanding Yan Beiting's words that Jono felt a pang in her heart.
"No, what I meant to say is that someone like Ruan Shengyu is his type." Yan Beiting suppressed a laugh.
Jono was truly... a very cute girl.

"Is your home around here?" Yan Beiting did not answer Jono's question and parked the car outside an old-fashioned neighborhood.
"Yes, how did you know?" Jono unbuckled his seatbelt, surprised.
"I have a more tactful suggestion for you. As for Ayan, if you like him, don't get too emotionally invested. In the end, it's yourself who gets hurt when you like someone who doesn't like you back."
"Huh?" Jono looked at Yan Beiting in astonishment. How did she see that he liked Jin Chengyan?
"Don't look at me like that; I'll think you like me!" Yan Beiting laughed, leaning closer to Jono. "Of course, I wouldn't reject your affection; I'm single after all. Since meeting you, I've been considering dating, and who knows, maybe even marriage."
Jono was taken aback. "This is so random."
Then she got out of the car, and after taking a few steps, she turned back. With her ponytail swaying, she looked so youthful and vibrant.
Suddenly, Yan Beiting's mind exploded with realization—Jono... it was Jono!
