The waters of Dark River flowed quietly as I approached to wash my face, trying to wake myself up a bit. 0

I had narrowly escaped death. I squatted by the riverbank, gazing at my reflection in the water. The glass of Searchlight was speckled with a few droplets, casting shadows on the wall. 0

I wiped it clean and sighed softly. 0

Slowly standing up, a cool breeze brushed against my face. 0

After tending to my wounds, I noticed that there were still many strands of Fur stuck to me in various places. It was unbearable, so I took off my clothes and jumped into the river for a bath. 0

The river water felt refreshingly cool against my skin. Fat Ma shouted from the shore, "Old Sun, I'm coming!" With that, he splashed into the water with a loud splash, sending waves several meters high. 0

I cursed under my breath while Fat Ma laughed heartily. 0

The water level in this stretch of the river was about waist-deep. I took off Searchlight and placed it on the surface of the water while sitting down on the muddy ground. 0

Fat Ma attempted to swim, his hefty body floating awkwardly on the Water Surface, looking quite comical. 0

I couldn't help but laugh and said sincerely, "You're really something! Fatty." 0

Fat Ma shot me a disdainful glance and replied, "Old Sun, you laugh as if you understand something." 0

I shook my head with a smile, indicating my innocence. 0

I had almost finished washing up and was about to head back to shore when I realized my foot had sunk into the riverbed sand. I struggled to pull it out, but the more I tried, the deeper it sank. 0

"Damn," I muttered. It was dangerous everywhere here. I called out for Fat Ma to give me a hand. 0

I had mocked Fat Ma beforehand, but at that moment, he chose not to help me and stood aside, laughing at my predicament. 0

I didn’t think much of it at first and continued to fumble around. However, to my surprise, I found myself sinking deeper and deeper until the water reached my chest. 0

It was only then that I realized the seriousness of the situation. I shouted for Fat Ma, who looked at me with a serious expression, not pretending at all. When he pulled me hard, I understood just how dire things had become. 0

“Old Sun, what are you doing? You’ve gotten yourself stuck,” Fat Ma said. 0

“I didn’t want this to happen! Stop talking nonsense and get me out of here!” I replied urgently. 0

Fat Ma straightened his face and pulled me with all his might, but it didn’t seem to help much. After a while, he was out of breath and shouted, “Niren, come over and help!” 0

Niren lifted his head at the call. Seeing Fat Ma gritting his teeth while pulling me, he quickly ran over. 0

“Old Sun, you got yourself into this mess. Come on, lend a hand,” Fat Ma explained. 0

Niren clearly wasn’t buying Fat Ma’s excuses. 0

As soon as Niren arrived, he said to me, “Old Sun, don’t struggle. Just relax slowly.” 0

Listening to Niren’s advice, I gradually relaxed. The speed at which I was sinking indeed slowed down significantly. Then Niren added, “Lie flat on your back on the Water Surface.” 0

I followed his instructions, and surprisingly, my legs loosened a bit. Wanting to get out quickly, I moved again and ended up sinking further. Realizing my mistake just in time, I stopped moving. 0

“This isn’t good!” Fat Ma exclaimed. “Old Sun is still sinking!” 0

Thanks to Fat Ma’s reminder, Niren noticed as well and warned me again not to move! 0

It was difficult to exert force in the water. Niren instructed Fat Ma to hold onto me first while he quickly ran to the shore to grab a rope before returning swiftly. 0

"Throw me the rope so I can tie myself up." 0

I carefully bound my body. "Make a knot," Fat Ma reminded me. I nodded in response. 0

The Mud Man asked, "Are you done tying up?" 0

"I'm ready," I replied. 0

They stepped back a bit and began to pull me out. As I was being dragged, I shouted, "Pull harder; it's getting better!" 0

Finally, I thought to myself, I'm almost out. 0

But just then, my feet felt as if they were being bitten, sinking down again with great force, pulling them into the water. 0

Fat Ma sensed something was wrong and quickly grabbed the M11 Submachine Gun from the ground, slinging it over his shoulder. We continued to be pulled into the water. 0

"This is bad! Something's going to happen! We can't lose everything!" Fat Ma put on his military uniform again. 0

At that moment, as Fat Ma was putting on his uniform, I sank to a certain depth and suddenly felt as if I had stepped onto a hidden panel. Instantly, I sensed the devouring force beneath me grow stronger, and the water began to rush in from all sides, forming a whirlpool in the center. 0

Fat Ma and the Mud Man were violently pulled toward me. 0

In the next instant, we were engulfed by the whirlpool as the water rushed in. The hidden panel had vanished, and the three of us fell down along with the massive flow of water. 0

I landed hard, completely upside down, and crucially, I wasn't fully dressed—just wearing a pair of **. Soon enough, that hidden panel closed above us, and the flow of water ceased its downward rush. 0

"Damn," Fat Ma cursed as he flipped over. "What kind of place is this?" 0

It was pitch black; without the Searchlight, we couldn't see each other at all. 0

"Old Sun," Fat Ma said, "you and the Mud Man, you're not dead, right?" 0

The Mud Man retorted, "If you're still alive, how could I be dead?" Hearing a response, Fat Ma laughed heartily. "That's good to hear." 0

"And you, Old Sun?" 0

"I'm still here," I replied. 0

Right now, the Mud Man was the most equipped among us, Fat Ma was barely managing, and I was in the most dire situation. 0

"Don't get too excited yet," the Mud Man reminded us. "We still don't know where we are." 0

"Do we have any flares left?" Fat Ma asked. The Mud Man replied, "Yes." "Then throw one!" Fat Ma urged. 0

In the next second, before I could stop him, the flare lit up. Damn it! 0

Accompanied by Fat Ma's boisterous laughter, what greeted my eyes were actually burial goods. Fat Ma's gaze immediately shifted as he took advantage of the lingering white light. 0

Fat Ma went on a rampage. 0

He opened a chest and surprisingly found clothing, shouting, "Old Sun, come here! I have a whole outfit for you!" 0

Hearing there were clothes, I hurried over. Inside the chest were thick garments piled up. I randomly picked one and put it on; it was an ancient-style outfit. I wasn't sure which era it belonged to, but the decorations on it were quite beautiful. 0

The white light was quickly fading. At that moment, dim yellow lights slowly replaced it. 0

While Fat Ma was busy with his treasure, I was looking for clothes. The Mud Man had already surveyed the environment of this space and discovered a lampstand on the wall, which he lit up. 0

Wearing that outfit made me feel uncomfortable all over, so I took it off and shook it vigorously. Then I put it back on again. 0

"Fat Ma said, 'Old Sun, not bad! You look a bit like a corpse!'" 0

I nearly choked! "But the quality of this fabric is quite good," I murmured. 0

Fat Ma had already ignored me and was rummaging for treasures. 0

Before long, he wrapped himself in another piece of clothing and exclaimed, "Damn, it's chilly down here without clothes!" 0

The Mud Man walked over and saw the two of us dressed in ancient garments. He remarked, "You two really are keeping up with the times." 0

Fat Ma retorted, "Stop teasing us. Why don't you take off your clothes and let us wear them?" 0

The Mud Man replied firmly, "No way, Fat Ma." 0

We were in a sealed tomb chamber, which might be the Ear Chamber where burial goods were placed. 0

The ground was still damp; quite a bit of water had leaked in earlier. 0

"What treasures do we have?" I asked Fat Ma. 0

His military uniform pockets were already stuffed. Fat Ma mumbled, "Old Sun, don't rush. You'll definitely get your share!" 0

I knew that this guy just wouldn't spill the beans. After all these years, I understood his temperament quite well. 0

The Mud Man also began to search around. After a while, I joined in. This was my first time entering this Tomb and finding the burial chamber. 0

The three of us conducted a ruthless search of the Ear Chamber as if we were on a rampage. 0

When it was over, the Mud Man had also donned an ancient outfit. 0

We three sat down on the ground to rest and began to discuss these things in detail. 0

"Last time, I sold that Bronze piece for two hundred thousand!" Fat Ma exclaimed, quickly turning to me. "Old Sun, what about that Bronze Fish Mouth from last time?" 0

The Clay Man seized the opportunity to say, "Fatty, you’re just a local landlord now!" 0

Seeing he couldn't escape the topic, Fat Ma shot back fiercely, "Clay Man, you can insult me, but you cannot insult the purity of my Revolution." 0

The Clay Man looked at Fat Ma with disdain, and I couldn't stand it either. This guy often waved the flag of Revolution while secretly engaging in unsavory dealings. 0

In the end, after being schooled by me and the Clay Man, Fat Ma realized he had picked up the bad habits of capitalism and promised to compensate us once we got out. 0

Only then did we stop. After some idle chatter, we calmed down and began to seriously survey our surroundings. 0

This tomb chamber was likely just a storage room, and it was sealed off. 0

We three stood up in our robes and exchanged glances; there was something strange in our eyes. 0

Fat Ma was quite portly, resembling a wealthy gentleman from ancient times! I thought to myself that I had become something of an ancient person! 0

I looked up at the ceiling of the tomb chamber; it was clear that a large section had been partitioned off. It was impossible to expect to get out from there. 0
