Everyone was still trying to process what had just happened. It wasn't until a minute after I finished speaking that someone finally crouched down to take a look. Sure enough, it was metal, buried some distance below the surface.
The group was filled with excitement, but more than that, they were astonished. This was beyond their imagination. They had seen many things in their previous expeditions, but this tomb, possibly made of metal, was truly shocking.
Unease was etched on everyone's faces.
Even Chen Yutou and Old Wang looked surprised, while Professor Sun seemed to be lost in thought nearby.
Zhang Tong also stepped closer.
Fat Ma was even more dramatic. He squeezed through the crowd, pulled out a Luoyang Shovel, and began to strike at the ground wildly. With each blow, his expression grew more animated. "Damn it, we're going to strike it rich!"
After saying that, he turned to me and added, "Old Sun, this might really be our final big find. Make sure you prepare a gold basin for me; I want to wash my hands afterward." He finished with a shameless grin.
" Fat Ma, stop daydreaming," I replied.
Just as I spoke, Old Ghost eagerly chimed in, "Fat Master, how about we wash up together when the time comes?"
In high spirits, Fat Ma slapped Old Ghost's shoulder hard and laughed, "Old Ghost, if I eat meat, you won't get a drop of soup."
With that, the two of them burst into shameless laughter.
The others looked at them as if they were fools. I stood by, speechless.
“ Fat Ma, don't be so happy just yet,” Chen Yutou interrupted the Fat Ma.
The Fat Ma's smile faded, and his features immediately became serious. “What Elder Fish Head said is true.”
Our current task was still to find a place to confront Burrow. Old Ghost's earlier speculation about the location was correct, but it was impossible to confront Burrow now.
Suddenly, I thought of the Bronze Fish I had on me. Could it be that we needed it to enter?
I voiced my thoughts, and soon received agreement. If that were the case, we had to first locate the Sealed Door of this Tomb, which might be a Metal Structure.
Generally, Sealed Doors are designed based on the feng shui and terrain of the entire Tomb.
As Old Ghost and Old Wang mentioned, the dragon's head is at a lower elevation, while Sealed Doors are typically located at the dragon's head, which is why they are also referred to as the Dragon's Mouth.
The team quickly moved toward the location of the Dragon's Mouth.
As we approached, it turned out to be true; the Dragon's Mouth was slightly ajar, but it was Elder Fish Head who spotted it immediately.
Once the obstruction was cleared, the Dragon's Mouth came into view, but there was no matching slot for placing the Bronze Fish key.
Could it be that the Bronze Fish wasn't meant to open this door?
It wasn't impossible; after all, this could very well be the legendary Ghostly Heavenly Palace.
Just as I was lost in thought, Professor Sun suddenly spoke up. “Old Chen, this door is sealed tight. How about we blow it open with explosives?”
"No way, Little Sun, you're getting confused. If it blows up and we can't control it, the entire Tomb could be destroyed in an instant."
"We have a set amount of explosives, so that shouldn't be a problem."
"Still, we shouldn't act recklessly."
"What material is this door made of?" Old Wang suddenly asked.
Soon someone replied, "I've scanned it with instruments. It seems to have more than one layer, but the exact number of layers can't be determined."
"Damn, who cares how many layers there are? If there's one layer, we'll break through it. We're alive and kicking; are we really going to let ourselves die from holding in our pee?" The Fat Ma shrugged off his shoulders and moved closer to inspect.
He muttered under his breath, "This damn thing was sealed with molten iron."
Everyone froze for a moment.
A Sealed Door that had been sealed with molten iron—previous tomb raiders used to pour sewage over it repeatedly. After ten days or so, the iron would eventually melt away.
But using such a method now was clearly unrealistic.
"Let us handle this!"
