Suddenly, a group of people emerged from the crowd, led by one individual, followed by two or three others. The leader's age and appearance were unclear, as he wore a black cloak that obscured his face with a piece of black cloth.
Chen Yutou and Old Wang saw this person come forward and said nothing; instead, they stepped aside to let him pass. From behind, he appeared to be of shorter stature.
The two individuals following him each carried a white bottle.
A minute later, a wisp of blue smoke accompanied by a pungent odor wafted out, and the iron door slowly began to melt.
Before long, bricks started to crumble, and the first Sealed Door broke open. Fat Ma and I, along with the others, gathered around it, but to our disappointment, there was still another barrier behind it.
The material was still made of molten iron.
Everyone focused on the white bottles as we watched the liquid inside flow out. Upon contact with the Sealed Door, it poured onto the solidified iron and evaporated almost instantly like water meeting scorching sun.
However, it evaporated much faster than water. Soon, the acrid smell spread through the air, causing those nearby to cough and retreat.
"What on earth is this stuff?" Fat Ma asked while covering his nose.
"It should be strong acid," Niren replied as he stepped back. Once he reached a safe distance, the air became somewhat more bearable.
Using strong acid! I was secretly astonished; their planning was indeed thorough.
As expected, the second Sealed Door was broken open.
However, there was more to come. The person from before had used the Detector to scan, but could not determine exactly how many layers of Sealed Doors there were.
A few of us picked up the fallen bricks and threw them outside. After clearing some debris, we continued to break through the third Sealed Door. This one was different; it turned out to be a stone door, a solid piece of rock with no gaps around it, completely sealed.
"Use explosives!" the leader whispered. We heard him, but surprisingly, Chen Yutou did not intervene.
Before long, a low rumble of an explosion echoed through the air. The stone shattered right in place, with hardly any debris flying around; the control over the explosives was remarkably precise.
Now I understood why no one had tried to stop him—his methods were indeed impressive.
The fourth Sealed Door came into view, and within a minute, it was breached. We quickly moved on to the fifth and continued until we reached the tenth.
Suddenly, a cool breeze swept through, causing everyone to shiver involuntarily.
The weather was cold, and the plants visible under the light began to frost over.
We could see our breath forming white mist in the air.
This should be the last door. Everyone watched intently, their eyes fixed on it. However, this time, the masked leader froze and did not make a move.
"Do we need a key?" I suddenly spoke up.
The masked man turned to glance at me and shook his head.
I didn’t step forward but continued to observe.
Many flashlights simultaneously illuminated the direction of Dragon's Mouth.
Soon, a moment passed… and there was still no response from that side…
Another moment went by…
Some people began to grow impatient, though they did not express it too directly; instead, they showed slight signs of restlessness.
Just as everyone's various emotions were converging, with a click, the tenth door finally opened. The crowd, which had been waiting for so long, surged forward.
However, the Masked Man stepped back.
He calmly uttered two words: "It's done," and then retreated with his group to the back.
As he walked away, I couldn't help but glance at his back. Upon hearing those words, Chen Yutou quickly organized everyone to begin descending in an orderly manner.
I followed behind Chen Yutou along with Fat Ma and Old Ghost. Zhang Tong trailed behind me.
The team moved forward in succession.
As I entered, I heard the surprised voice of the Fat Ma ahead.
