We all carried high-precision flashlights, their beams concentrated and intense, which kept our attention sharply focused. The walls, made of square stones, bore the marks of time, exuding a sense of desolation that mingled with an unsettling chill, evoking a twinge of sadness. 0

I gripped the rope tightly, controlling my speed while scanning the surroundings, but I found nothing amiss along the way. 0

"I can't hold it anymore! My stomach hurts!" Old Ghost shouted, clutching the rope with a pained expression. 0

"You're always so troublesome. Just hold on a bit longer; we can deal with it once we're down," I replied. 0

Old Ghost let out a frustrated exclamation. "Forget it." With that, he released his grip on the rope and slid down. 0

My heart tightened at the thought of something going wrong with Old Ghost; after all, he was our guest, and we couldn't let anything happen to him! At that critical moment, Fat Ma didn't hesitate either. Cursing under his breath, he quickly followed suit. I was right behind him, and even the clay figure didn’t hesitate. 0

The others were slower to react, but after a minute or two—perhaps fearing we would get ahead—they quickly descended as well. 0

As we fell, the coldness intensified, seeping through my pants and chilling me to the core. It made me gasp involuntarily; I couldn't help but shiver. If I lost my grip on the rope for even a moment, I would surely fall. 0

In less than two minutes, we landed. The first sensation that hit me was one of calmness—an ambient warmth enveloped us. Standing below, I felt no trace of the chill; instead, the warmth was oddly comforting. The area was spacious, and I took a moment to survey my surroundings. 0

Then I was struck dumb by what I saw: boiling water. 0

My gaze swept across the space below, and in one corner, there was indeed a pool of bubbling hot water. My surprise was evident and unmasked at first glance. However, as I regained my composure, I speculated that it must be a hot spring. The consistent temperature here could only be attributed to that spring. 0

The hot spring was surrounded by a beautifully crafted bronze pool, with water flowing through it, sending up wisps of steam that neutralized the cold particles in the air. 0

I shifted my gaze, preparing to take a closer look. 0

Suddenly, Fat Ma shouted, and I quickly ran over. "What's going on, Fatty?" I asked. 0

Following his response, Old Ghost interjected, " Fat Ma, could you show a little decorum?" His disdainful remarks continued. 0

I was momentarily at a loss for words. 0

Old Ghost swiftly finished his reprimand, saying, " Fat Ma, stop with the sarcastic comments." 0

Fat Ma laughed heartily without a care. 0

At that moment, Mud Man approached us and said, "This place is strange; be careful." 0

"Mud Man, if you hadn't mentioned it, I almost forgot about the important stuff. You all seem dazed; hurry up and see if there's anything valuable around." After saying this, I realized there were more than just the four of us here and quickly lowered my voice, communicating with glances. 0

The six others had already dispersed; this space was vast and seemed endless. 0

Since Mud Man had made the first judgment that this place was peculiar, I naturally felt an extra sense of caution. As the saying goes, "A cautious sailor can sail for ten thousand years." 0

I continued walking. 0

The clay figure suddenly spoke again, "It's best if we don't scatter." 0

Old Ghost replied, "I agree with him. I feel that the sinister energy here is growing stronger." Fat Ma was not pleased; as the saying goes, "Cast a wide net to catch more fish." Besides, Fat Ma needed plenty of personal time for his own activities. 0
