Ximen Piaopiao, Wu Qiuyang, and Rain Bamboo could not decipher the meaning behind Ye Fan and Cao Zun's words. However, upon hearing Ye Fan speak, Cao Zun instantly understood, a faint smile appearing in his eyes. Indeed, this person was the one sought after by the Ninefold Celestial Gate, Suspended King Sword Sect, and Celestial Demon Domain. Cao Zun nodded lightly, his gaze fixed on Ye Fan. Although there was a smile in his eyes, it still exuded an immense pressure; he stood there as if he were a realm unto himself, shaking the hearts of those around him.
Cao Zun said calmly, "Very well, but are you not afraid that I am like them?" He continued, "By the way, you might not be fully aware of my identity. Let me tell you, I am also from the Ninefold Celestial Gate."
Ye Fan smiled lightly and replied, "Actually, it doesn't matter which faction you belong to, does it? The current situation seems to be beyond my control!"
Upon hearing this, Cao Zun looked deeply at Ye Fan, a hint of appreciation flickering in his eyes. However, he did not deny Ye Fan's words. Given Ye Fan's current predicament, even though he had appeared to defuse the Primordial Immortal King's crisis, if his purpose aligned with that of others, then indeed there would be no difference for Ye Fan.
Clearly, Cao Zun was different from the others; he merely cast a casual glance at Ye Fan and said, "Rest assured, my appearance here is not for you but because the Primordial is being excessively arrogant."
In the distance stood Sword King Muqu of the Famous Sword Sect and Huaqing Immortal King from the Celestial Demon Domain. Xuan Hong and others could not help but show signs of surprise as they looked at Cao Zun, feeling a sense of shock in their hearts. "So this person is actually a powerful figure from the Ninefold Celestial Gate..." Xuan Hong thought to himself as he sighed in relief, no longer feeling the same pressure as before.
Taking a step forward, Xuan Hong approached Ximen Piaopiao and then bowed respectfully to Cao Zun again. "So it turns out that you are also a powerful figure from our Ninefold Celestial Gate; that's good!"
"Good? What do you mean by good?" Cao Zun glanced indifferently at Xuan Hong and said, "Did you not hear what I just said?"
Xuan Hong felt a jolt in his heart upon hearing this; an overwhelming pressure suddenly descended upon him like a massive stone weighing down on him, causing cold sweat to bead on his forehead.
Cao Zun withdrew his gaze from Xuan Hong and turned to Ximen Piaopiao. "Young Master, this person is..."
Before Cao Zun could finish his sentence, Ximen Piaopiao interjected, "Uncle Cao, no matter who he is, since he is acquainted with me, he is my friend. Do you really want to make things difficult for my friend?"
Ximen Piaopiao was not foolish; he had already sensed some underlying meaning from Cao Zun and Ye Fan's conversation. Moreover, from Xuan Hong's demeanor and speech patterns, even without knowing the specifics of the situation, he could guess that Ye Fan was certainly not as simple as he appeared on the surface.
However, putting aside other matters for now and focusing solely on character: when Wenshan Zhensong from the Wenshan Family attacked him on the Celestial Martial Arts stage, Ye Fan had acted without hesitation to help him. This clearly indicated that regardless of any secrets Ye Fan might have had, at least he regarded him as a friend.
Ximen Piaopiao understood that perhaps it was precisely because of this that Ye Fan had revealed his secret earlier and thus led to the events that followed. Otherwise, how could he have found himself in such a predicament?
"Alright! I understand what Young Master means," Cao Zun replied calmly. He neither asked further questions nor elaborated but simply turned away. His gaze swept over Xuan Hong as he spoke coolly: "Xuan Hong, since we are both from the Ninefold Celestial Gate, I will not make things difficult for you. You may return and report back! Just relay what has happened here accurately; I believe Emperor Ximen will not make things hard for you."
Cao Zun was a hidden cultivator who rarely moved about in the immortal realm; thus few knew him. Even Xuan Hong from the same Ninefold Celestial Gate did not recognize him. However, with a Celestial Sovereign Realm powerhouse present before Ye Fan—and this Celestial Sovereign being one of their own—along with Emperor Ximen's son still here—the current situation was clearly beyond what Xuan Hong as a peak Celestial King could influence.
Thus Xuan Hong bowed deeply to both Cao Zun and Ximen Piaopiao and said respectfully: "Since senior has said so and with Young Master Ximen present again, I naturally dare not say more; I will return to report."
Cao Zun waved his hand dismissively: "You may go!"
"Yes."
"Xuan Hong takes his leave!" With that declaration, Xuan Hong retreated while casting a glance at the other Celestial Kings of the Ninefold Celestial Gate before issuing an order for them all to leave this void immediately. Whether it was due to Ye Fan's identity being exposed or Emperor Ximen's heir appearing—it was significant news that required him to return to Ninefold Celestial Gate at once to report.
As they watched Xuan Hong depart along with others into the void—Huaqing Immortal King and Chang Liu Xian Wang along with several remaining Celestial Kings from Suspended King Sword Sect felt an overwhelming anxiety wash over them as they gazed at Cao Zun with trepidation. They dared not leave without permission since Cao Zun had yet to speak.
Cao Zun glanced at them and noticed their fearful expressions; he understood their thoughts well enough. His voice turned slightly colder: "You all may leave too! With me here, you should understand that you cannot take Ye Fan away."
Upon hearing this command from Cao Zun, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief. Huaqing Immortal King managed to force a smile onto his handsome face and said: "What senior says is true; since that's the case, Huaqing will return to report."
Cao Zun nodded indifferently as Huaqing Immortal King did not linger any longer but exchanged glances with Chang Liu Celestial King before both transformed into streaks of light heading out beyond Famous Sword City.
The several Celestial Kings from Ninefold Celestial Gate wore expressions that were somewhat grim as they looked toward Cao Zun but were unsure how to proceed.
Seeing they had yet to depart, Cao Zun's gaze swept over them again; his tone grew noticeably colder: "What? Do you still wish to take revenge on Primordial Immortal King?"
The few Celestial Kings from Suspended King Sword Sect broke into cold sweat upon hearing this; their eyes widened in horror as they quickly replied: "Senior jokes! With our strength before you seniors' finger can easily crush us; how could we entertain such thoughts!"
Cao Zun asked: "Then do you still wish to take Ye Fan away?"
With Primordial Immortal King's fall confirmed alongside Ye Fan's identity now established—it was clear that if they left just like this—those few Celestial Kings from Suspended King Sword Sect would feel quite unwilling. However upon hearing Cao Zun’s words their hearts sank heavily.
From Cao Zun emanated an unmistakable aura of killing intent; no one doubted that if they truly harbored such thoughts—Cao Zun would likely have no qualms about erasing them just as easily as he had done with Primordial Immortal King.
Thus without further hesitation or doubt—the few Celestial Kings from Suspended King Sword Sect quickly clasped their fists in salute: “We dare not! We shall take our leave immediately!” With those words spoken they turned swiftly around leading their fellow cultivators away without looking back.
