At Emei Mountain's Golden Summit, Nangong surrounded the area with a large group of Disciples of the Serpent Cult, leaving no room for escape. Miao Shengnan, the leader of the Emei Sect, engaged in a fierce battle with Nangong but was no match for him. She suffered severe injuries and retreated to the front of the Golden Summit's main hall with her disciples. 0

Nangong Lin stepped out from the crowd, laughing heartily. "People are truly foolish; they won't shed tears until they see the coffin. Unless I kill a few thousand of your disciples first, you Emei folks, who pride yourselves on being righteous, won't listen to reason. What good is your talk of being willing to be shattered like jade rather than remain whole like tiles? Or your claims of justice prevailing? Now that Emei's disciples are nearly wiped out, let's calmly discuss this. Hand over Emei's land deeds and announce to the other sects of the Daoist Sect that Emei is willing to submit to my Serpent Cult. If you do that, I will spare you and allow Emei Sect to become a branch of my cult." 0

"Delusional!" Bai Xiaoxiang retorted. "Do you think all Emei disciples are as cowardly as you?" 0

Nangong Lin turned his gaze to Bai Xiaoxiang. "Ah, so it's the new chief disciple of Emei Sect, Bai Xiaoxiang. That day at Mount Hua, Rain Master Luo stunned everyone with a single sword strike. I wonder if Sister Bai can astonish us in the same way?" 0

Bai Xiaoxiang drew her sword. "If it weren't for your bullying tactics, do you think I would fear you?" 0

"Very well," Nangong Lin replied. "Let's have a contest then. Neither side's elders will intervene; I want to see just how powerful Sister Bai really is." 0

"Bai Xiaoxiang, you're no match for him; don't agree. We can use an Incantation to send you away later," an elder warned. 0

Ignoring the elder, Bai Xiaoxiang lunged at Nangong Lin with her sword. Nangong Lin smirked as a fan suddenly appeared in his hand. He opened it and swiftly fanned it towards Bai Xiaoxiang. Flames erupted, and in an instant, Bai Xiaoxiang was engulfed in fire, reduced to ashes. 0

"Senior sister!" cried out one of the Emei disciples. 0

Nangong Lin squinted at the side and saw an overlapping illusion; Bai Xiaoxiang reappeared and thrust her sword at him. Nangong Lin used his folding fan to deflect her blade and then struck her neck with another blow, causing her figure to shatter once more. 0

"How did Bai Xiaoxiang learn Phantom Layers so quickly?" Miao Shengnan asked an elder beside her. 0

The elder replied, "Reporting to the Sect Leader, Bai Xiaoxiang has always been by Yushi Luo's side watching her practice swordsmanship; she must have learned it from Yushi Luo." 0

Miao Shengnan nodded slightly but said nothing further. In the ongoing battle between Bai Xiaoxiang and Nangong Lin, it was clear that Bai Xiaoxiang was significantly weaker than Nangong Lin. Without the Daoist Arts of Phantom Layers, she would have no chance against him. 0

Nangong Lin's expression turned furious as he unleashed a gust from his fan that tore through the air, causing those around him to step back in alarm. A streak of blood appeared in the air as he snorted disdainfully. With his fan unfurled, he executed Light Shadow, while Bai Xiaoxiang manifested again, her sword weaving intricate patterns at incredible speed to block Nangong Lin's assault. 0

"She actually has some of the One Sword Technique's Sword Momentum. This girl must understand the One Sword Technique," said Guardian Yu Youya beside Nangong. 0

"Isn't it possible to use the One Sword Technique even if one hasn't fully mastered it?" Nangong asked. 0

"Of course," Yu Youya replied. "I've heard that the One Sword Technique consists of three hundred sixty-five Sword Techniques, all seemingly ordinary yet encompassing all Sword Techniques within its sword forms. Ancient masters would spend a year mastering one hundred swords from those three hundred sixty-five, but it took them ten years to reach fifty swords. In their lifetime, they would practice the One Sword Technique for over seventy years just to achieve Three Swords. With Three Swords, one could dominate the Daoist Sect. This girl’s One Sword Technique should still be beyond a hundred swords." 0

"The difference is so vast. Who exactly is that Rain Master Luo? I haven't seen her display any exceptional talent; she doesn't even qualify as above average," Nangong Dao remarked. 0

Yu Youya said, "Cultivation and swordsmanship are all about division. While it greatly relates to talent, luck and fate often play a significant role as well. Some people have unique fates, some are wise yet appear foolish, and some can compensate for their shortcomings through hard work. Take Yang Long, for instance; despite his high talent, he was arrogant and ended up being killed by a single sword strike. As far as I know, among all the disciples of various sects, the one with the highest sword division should be Dongfang Zhen. He was born with a sword bone, yet in the end, he still met an untimely death. These matters are unpredictable." 0

Nangong nodded in agreement with Yu Youya's perspective. Meanwhile, Nangong Lin was growing increasingly frustrated with Bai Xiaoxiang's fighting style. 0

"Younger Master," Yu Youya advised, "use the Southern Ming Fire Separation; there's no need to engage with these lackeys. We need to hurry." 0

Nangong Lin nodded and spat out a fiery red orb from his mouth. He pressed the orb onto his folding fan, and with a flick of his wrist, the demonic flames spread out, instantly scorching the ground beneath them. The air shimmered red as all of Bai Xiaoxiang's phantom clones turned to ash. Her real body was sent flying backward, her sword glowing red-hot while flames engulfed her body, emitting a burnt smell. 0

The other elders immediately used Dao Qi to extinguish the demonic flames on Bai Xiaoxiang. She let out a pained cry as her skin was burned in multiple places. 0

A white-clad Female Taoist Priest flew in from behind Golden Mist Hall. She appeared somewhat aged and was none other than Arched Eyebrows, the Grand Elder and Guardian of the Mountain. 0

The Grand Elder landed beside Bai Xiaoxiang and forced a pill into her mouth. Then, a wave of water-like Dao Qi flowed from her palm, enveloping Bai Xiaoxiang to heal her wounds. 0

Looking up at Nangong Lin, the Grand Elder said, "Since this is a fair competition and her cultivation is inherently inferior to yours, why do you still resort to using the Flame Demon Orb to endanger her life?" 0

Nangong Lin impatiently shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Here comes another one wanting to lecture me about chivalry—an old hag at that." 0

With a flick of her sleeve, the Grand Elder sent Nangong Lin stumbling back a few steps, leaving a bright red handprint on his face. She cleared her throat and said, "If a child is not taught properly, it is the father's fault; this slap is for your father." 0

"You think you're something? How dare you hit me! Soon, I will make you suffer a thousand cuts, leaving you with no place to be buried!" Nangong Lin shouted. 0

"Child, it's acceptable for this person to hit you," Nangong suddenly said. "She is your mother's mother; technically, I should call her Mother-in-law. I thought she was dead." 0

Nangong's words left Nangong Lin stunned, and everyone present was momentarily taken aback. Because of Nangong's youthful charm, he had been involved with countless women, and Nangong Lin had never known who his maternal grandfather was, only hearing that he had died of illness. Now he realized he actually had a grandmother who was still alive. 0

The Elder said, "A person like you, devoid of humanity, can kill even those closest to you. Wasn't my daughter also harmed by you back then?" 0

Nangong Lin replied, "To achieve great things, one can even kill their closest kin. However, I'm not that ruthless of a person. Considering you are Fang'er’s mother and Child’s grandmother, I can spare you Immortal. Just go down the mountain now." 0

The Elder chuckled softly and said, "I am nearly a hundred years old and have been ill for many years. My life’s cultivation has made no progress; I won’t live for more than two years. It’s not that I don’t appreciate your kindness." 0

Nangong Dao asked, "Then what do you want to do?" 0

The Elder replied, "How about we have a contest? If you lose, you will withdraw from Arched Eyebrows and never return. If I lose, I will naturally go accompany my daughter." 0

Nangong Dao said, "Alright then! Let’s see how tough your bones really are!" 0

As soon as Nangong finished speaking, his figure shifted slightly and suddenly appeared beside the Elder, unleashing a powerful Dao Qi that sent the Elder flying backward. 0

"Elder!" 0

"Senior Sister..." Miao Shengnan supported the Elder. 0

The Elder waved her hand to signal that she was fine and said, "Did you all see clearly? The true essence of Phantom Layers—whether it’s Huanhua Sword Technique or One Sword Technique, or even ordinary swordsmanship—can achieve results if practiced to the extreme. Anyone can become a Daoist Grandmaster as long as they are willing to put in the effort." 0

After the Elder finished speaking, her figure suddenly dispersed into eight identical phantoms. The entire Emei Grand Hall square was filled with the Elder's shadow clones, startling everyone. A disciple of the Serpent Cult thrust his sword at one of the phantoms nearby; the phantom turned around and with a flick of its sleeve sent the disciple flying over the wall and tumbling down the cliff. 0

Countless phantoms of the Elders surged toward Nangong. With both fists, Nangong struggled against the four hands attacking him. Even with Dao Qi protecting him, he was still forced to stagger. In an instant, blades flashed around him. Nangong roared and suddenly unleashed his Dao Qi, a wave of intense flames erupted, igniting all the phantoms in the air. However, these burning phantoms soon clung to him, leaving Nangong in a state of utter disarray. 0

"Master, I’m here to help you!" Yu Youya called out. 0

"Step back!" Nangong shouted, dispersing the incoming phantoms with a punch. 0

A lethal strike aimed for Nangong's neck. He reached out and caught the tip of the sword, squeezing it fiercely until the Sword Body twisted and turned red. He then struck the Elder's chest with his palm, igniting the True Fire of Taiyi within it, causing the Elder's face to darken immediately. 0

"Senior Sister, it's True Fire of Taiyi!" Miao Shengnan reminded. 0

The Elder suddenly broke the Sword Body and thrust the broken blade toward Nangong's heart. Nangong shifted his position just in time, but the broken sword still pierced into his chest. The Elder gasped for breath, standing there with his hands hanging limply at his sides. 0

Nangong pulled out the broken sword from his body, blood seeping from his chest. He snorted and said, "Still trying to fight me at your age? You really overestimate yourself." 0

With a powerful punch, Nangong struck the Elder's heart. The Elder was unable to defend himself and was sent flying backward, his heart shattered as he collapsed on the steps in front of Golden Mist Hall. 0
