After everyone received permission to rise, they all wore excited expressions. They never expected that not only would there be delicious food and drink, but they would also receive three Spirit Qi Pills. With this, their cultivation speed would greatly increase. Zhao Yang asked Situ Yan to follow him into the room and explained what he should do next. Situ Yan listened attentively; he had been feeling lost about the future, but in that moment, he felt enlightened, as if he had found a clear path. When he looked at Zhao Yang again, there was not a trace of resentment left. 0

Once Zhao Yang finished handling these matters, he felt a bit hungry and decided to head to the kitchen in the Main Hall's side room for a piece of cured meat to satisfy his hunger. 0

Before he even reached the kitchen, he caught a whiff of a fragrant fish aroma. Swallowing hard, he lifted the lid of a large pot and saw that it contained cooked fish—these were the fruits of the scholar's efforts in fishing over the past few days. Seeing such a delicious meal made his stomach growl, and without caring about his image any longer, Zhao Yang grabbed a small fish and began to chew on it. 0

"Hmm?" As soon as he took a bite, Zhao Yang felt something was off, but he couldn't pinpoint what it was. So, he picked up another small fish and continued eating. By the time he finished the tenth fish, he let out a satisfied burp and finally realized where the problem lay. 0

"How can there be such powerful Spirit Energy contained within this fish? Did someone add spirit herbs to the pot, or is it something about the fish itself?" 0

Zhao Yang felt the Spirit Energy surging in his belly, which was quite pleasant. He checked the seasonings in the pot and found only ordinary herbs and spices. Puzzled, he recalled that Scholar Xiu and Long Xiao Wu had been at the Fish Pond for quite some time without returning. Could it be that they discovered something? 0

Without further hesitation, Zhao Yang hurried to the Fish Pond next to Back Mountain Ranch. From a distance, he saw Scholar Xiu and Long Xiao Wu squatting by the pond as if they were staring at something. 0

"Hey, Scholar, Xiao Wu, what's going on?" 0

The two turned around upon seeing Zhao Yang approach. Long Xiao Wu said, "The scholar said he saw Shiyunsheng from Outer Sect here last night again. He also discovered that over these past few days, fish could only be caught at night; during the day, there were no fish at all. And look at this stone tablet." 0

Upon hearing this, Zhao Yang looked at a broken stone tablet by the Fish Pond that appeared to have just been dug up and was covered in wet mud. The characters on it were already blurred, but he could vaguely make out one character: "Dragon." Looking at the date engraved on the tablet revealed it was from Year One of the Zhongzhou Calendar. 0

Zhao Yang was taken aback and exclaimed, "Thirteen thousand years ago?" 0

The scholar nodded and said, "It was at the end of Ancient Times when Zhongzhou unified and Myriad Spirit Sect was first established. However, I suspect this pond has existed even earlier; the tablet was likely erected by the ancestors of Myriad Spirit Sect afterward. Additionally, this Fish Pond cannot yield large fish at all. Last night I spoke with Zhang Fan to learn more about this Fish Pond and found out it's quite peculiar. Do you know what it is?" 0

"What’s so peculiar? Hurry up and tell me; don’t keep me in suspense," Zhao Yang said with growing interest. 0

"Zhang Fan mentioned that in all his decades here, no one has ever caught a single fish from this Fish Pond. But after you came along and started a fire by the pond using your method, you managed to catch some fish—though they were small—it finally broke a record that had stood for decades." 0

"Is there really such a thing?" Zhao Yang wondered. He had started a fire by the Fish Pond to fish at night, knowing that some fish were active during this time and would be attracted to light. This was common knowledge among children in rural areas of his previous world. However, the fact that no one had caught a single fish from this Fish Pond for decades seemed exaggerated. Zhao Yang recalled Elder Zhong mentioning when he first arrived that the Fish Pond was their benefit, and one could fish there for food. It seemed like a joke now. 0

"Moreover," Scholar Xiu said seriously, "Zhang Fan mentioned that a long time ago, several people drowned in this Fish Pond. The water is so deep it has no bottom. Every time I come here, I feel a chill run down my spine." 0

"Really? People have drowned here?" Zhao Yang felt a wave of nausea; he had just eaten fish from this pond. 0

"In fact, when I get close to the Fish Pond, I feel quite the opposite. It seems like something in the pond is very close to me, almost calling out to me," Long Xiao Wu said after some thought. 0

"Oh, you want to jump into the river to commit suicide?" Scholar Xiu analyzed seriously. 0

"You must have forgotten your medicine this morning; you sound so silly," Zhao Yang said, touching Long Xiao Wu's forehead as if checking for fever. 0

"Get lost! You're the one who forgot your medicine!" Long Xiao Wu ignored Zhao Yang. 0

Zhao Yang chuckled and said, "Scholar, do you know how much Spirit Energy is contained in the fish you catch?" 0

Scholar Xiu was taken aback by this: "How much Spirit Energy can such a tiny fish contain?" 0

"At least as much as a Spirit Qi Pill," Zhao Yang said without exaggeration. 0

Long Xiao Wu and Scholar Xiu both gasped in surprise, their eyes lighting up. If a small fish was equivalent to a Spirit Qi Pill, they could come here every night and harvest Spiritual Pills. 0

Zhao Yang looked disdainfully at the two of them before glancing at the nearby Cattle and Sheep. A few Firewood Room Assistants wearing straw hats were preparing feed for the livestock in their pens. The sun was shining brightly, and suddenly an idea struck Zhao Yang. He gazed at the clear but desolate Fish Pond, feeling a strange sensation rise within him. Unfortunately, he lacked his master's Fiery Eyes and Golden Vision; otherwise, he could see through everything in the deep water at a glance. 0

Zhao Yang instructed a Firewood Room Assistant to fetch a hundred-meter-long hemp rope. He then carried a strong Lamb from the sheep pen, gutted it, tied its legs with the hemp rope, and tossed it into the Fish Pond. 0

Long Xiao Wu and Scholar Xiu were curious about what Zhao Yang was up to. They watched as the lamb gradually sank out of sight, its blood slowly dissolving in the water, until the rope in Zhao Yang's hand went taut. 0

"Hey, it's been a hundred meters and it hasn't sunk to the bottom?" Zhao Yang thought in shock. A small fish pond was usually no more than ten meters deep at most. He had chosen a hundred-meter-long rope because he was worried there might be hidden depths in the pond. If a large water monster had bitten the lamb, he could understand why the pond was filled with small fish—because the big ones had been eaten. But now, the fact that the hundred-meter rope still hadn't reached the bottom left him puzzled. 0

"Scholar, did you see that Shiyunsheng from the Outer Sect came here again last night? He didn't seem to have anything with him or any magical artifacts," Zhao Yang asked. 0

Hearing Zhao Yang's question, the scholar shook his head and replied, "I was too far away to see clearly, but I can confirm that he had a very bright crystal placed by the edge of the fish pond. It seemed like he was trying to illuminate what was happening in the deep water. I only recognized him because of the light, but his vigilance was too high; he noticed me leaving from quite a distance." 0

Upon hearing this, Zhao Yang furrowed his brow and murmured, "It seems there's definitely something wrong with the water. He might be looking for some treasure. But why doesn't he go down? Is it because he can't swim? Or is it because the treasure inside is too large?" 0

As Zhao Yang pondered this, his eyes sparkled with excitement. He imagined there being a massive red Essence Stone in the water, or perhaps even a higher-grade Essence Stone. If that were the case, he could bring it up and turn it into a bed, sleeping on it every day while guiding the rich Spirit Energy within it into his body automatically. That way, he wouldn't need to meditate and cultivate every day. 0

"Hey, hey! You're drooling! What are you daydreaming about?!" 0

Zhao Yang swallowed hard as Long Xiao Wu snapped him out of his reverie. With a huff, he began to strip off his clothes, leaving Long Xiao Wu and Scholar Xiu staring in disbelief. 0

It was deep autumn, and they had started wearing more layers. When Zhao Yang got down to just his underwear, Long Xiao Wu finally burst out in anger with a flushed face: "You pervert!" 0
