A sudden whirlwind of sensations swept through the air, as if a stream of hot, humid water rushed out from his nose. 0

Freyr had never experienced such an intense reaction before. Gasps echoed throughout the gym as a crowd gathered around him, forming a circle that resembled the greedy gaze of an old lady admiring a jade bracelet. 0

"Is he having a nosebleed?" One person stepped forward from the room, a muscular figure whose well-defined physique radiated the heat of exertion. He slapped Freyr hard on the chest, causing him to feel as if an enormous elephant had stomped on him, and a coughing fit erupted once more. 0

"With that kind of slap, you might just kill him! Who knows what's going on? Is it some genetic virus, or is he just too weak and scared?" Seeing Freyr nearly gasping for breath, Freya hurried over to push the muscular man aside and gently helped Freyr lean against a chair, tilting his head slightly to prevent the blood from flowing down. 0

"Perhaps the issue isn't with a virus but rather something human-made..." The speaker was a short man among them, the only one who seemed insignificant compared to the others. While they were all strong and robust, he appeared frail like a sickly monkey. Yet, being part of the team meant he couldn't be dismissed. As he spoke, everyone else listened quietly. 0

"What do you mean by that?" Freya asked, puzzled. 0

"Uh, Manager, you're a woman, right? There should always be some distance between men and women. Your presence can be quite distracting for us. However, we’ve grown accustomed to your unpredictable inspections. We see you as one of the guys. But this delivery guy here is a normal male; his needs are clearly stronger than ours. This physiological reaction is something no one can control; it’s normal for it to happen at least twice a month." 0

The short man stood with his hands on his hips, appearing quite insightful. The others instinctively refrained from interrupting him but found themselves unable to stop what was about to happen next. They subconsciously stepped back as he opened his eyes and looked around. Just as he was about to speak again, two ears were suddenly yanked hard. 0

Freya used all her strength: "Adams, who do you think you are calling a 'guy'?" Her grip twisted his ears like rubber bands before letting go with a snap. 0

"Ah, Manager! I was just making an analogy! In our hearts, you'll always be our goddess, right everyone? Someone back me up here!" 0

The short man shook his head vigorously and turned to his friends behind him for help. At that moment, those behind him wore expressions of sheer panic; each face looked wilted like a withered pickle. Just as Freya began to understand the message conveyed in their eyes, a cold voice cut through the tension: 0

"What are you all doing? Why aren’t you warming up?" 0

The harsh voice shattered the chaos. Freyr immediately felt more alert; the jumbled images in his mind dissipated. He blinked and steadied himself against the chair before taking the towel from Freya's hand to wipe away the blood trickling from his nose. The atmosphere was heavy with tension; everyone’s emotions were suppressed to their lowest point. 0

Entering through the door was Long Xingchen, whose sharp gaze swept across the room. The people standing inside remained motionless; even those who had been laughing moments ago lost their smiles. 0

Everything happened too quickly. A mist surrounded Long Xingchen's body, clearly indicating he had just completed an intense training session. After listening for some time outside, he finally stepped into the room. The others exchanged glances and took deep breaths before turning back to their workout equipment to intensify their training. 0

Long Xingchen slowly turned his head to look at Freya and Freyr standing nearby and said calmly, "You two come with me." 0

Freyr was taken aback, clearly reluctant to proceed. Walking out like this felt utterly embarrassing, especially since what awaited him ahead was a different kind of training. Despite his thoughts, he couldn't go against Long Xingchen's wishes. He first entered the changing room and put on a casual outfit he usually wore, looking just as beautiful as when they had met yesterday. 0

However, the mysterious smile that often graced his face was gone, replaced by a serious expression that seemed to exude a fierce determination. 0

He stepped out of Cambrian Hall. 0

The two walked side by side for a while when Long Xingchen suddenly spoke coldly, "Right now, you are not yet able to adapt to the other aspects of the team. Until your genetic enhancements are complete, we will start with basic physical and muscle training. Freya will accompany you. Only after you finish can you eat. The meals provided by the team are perfect for improving the physique of Gene-Enhanced Humans; you must consume them all. Cleaning your plate will be beneficial for repairing your damaged genes." 0

Freyr remained silent. By the time Long Xingchen finished speaking, they had already arrived at the training ground. 0

Long Xingchen pointed to the starting line behind them and then gestured toward a distant point across the field. "From the starting point to that end counts as one lap. Your goal is to run twenty kilometers. For Gene-Enhanced Humans, this might not be a problem, but for you starting out, it’s a significant challenge. First, your endurance must reach the average level of Ice Dust Team if you want to survive in this team. Running will not only test your willpower but also strengthen your core during Ultimate." 0

"Freya, record his total running time for reference. Physical training will increase with this level of intensity. We need to bring him up to the team's average level in a short time; we can't afford to waste time. We must teach him everything quickly—even meal and sleep times will be cut down for training. You are his caretaker; if he encounters any accidents or tries to avoid training during this period, you will be held fully responsible." 0

Long Xingchen's voice remained unchanged compared to before, but Freya's expression shifted unpredictably, as if a demon were about to alter her current form. She took a deep breath to steady herself and glanced at Freyr beside her, saying calmly, "Even if he has to crawl through the entire process, I will make sure he perseveres." 0

At that moment, with a whoosh, Long Xingchen's figure blurred rapidly. When his speed reached another level, it was almost deceptive even to the eyes. Freyr watched in astonishment as this sudden change occurred; meanwhile, Freya's face momentarily froze as she took a deep breath to calm herself. 0

Freya then extended her hand as if wanting to say something but hesitated, her eyes wide with fear as if trying to capture someone's soul. She shook her head and sighed: 0

"It seems you're not just slow in reaction; your thinking has slowed down significantly too. I told you to wait at the starting point—do you remember where I indicated?" 0

Freya's tone turned extremely cold. In the next moment, Freyr nodded and turned around to squat at the previously indicated starting point, positioning himself forward in preparation for a sprint. Without giving him any psychological preparation time, he was about to confront a twenty-kilometer run—a distance that could rival that of a marathon. Even though he had become a Gene-Enhanced Human with some physical enhancements, it was unreasonable to expect him to tackle such an immense challenge all at once. 0

"Anytime!" Freyr shouted as he took off in an initial sprint for warm-up before returning again to prepare himself properly after several rounds. 0

"Ready? Let's begin!" 0

Freya waved her hand and held up a piece of paper as a marker for the start of the race. 0

Freyr nodded at her and dashed forward. Within just a few moments, his speed had noticeably improved compared to yesterday's pace, which surprised Freya slightly. She quickly grabbed a pen and began recording his progress on paper. 0
Moments later, the intense burst of energy from earlier had clearly subsided. Freya frowned slightly. "Four minutes and twenty-five seconds. The speed has noticeably decreased; his physical endurance needs improvement. There's still quite a gap from the average level." As she spoke, she shook her head lightly and sighed, "High-intensity training is meant to elevate his physical capabilities to another level. For a Gene-Enhanced Human, this kind of training is far from sufficient. If he doesn't meet the standards, he might as well be useless. He needs to push himself." 0

After her reflections, she meticulously wrote everything down on paper. 0

Freyr had run three kilometers, and his movements appeared particularly clumsy. He was drenched in sweat; in contrast, someone who had never experienced such intense exercise before was struggling after just this short distance, his mouth filled with an unpleasant taste as if he might vomit at any moment. However, this feeling wasn't new; he had never been confident that he could endure a long run approaching marathon length. 0

Outside the field, Freya was like a computer, quickly recording everything she observed on paper while muttering to herself, "The speed has slowed down significantly compared to five minutes ago. Characteristics: dilated pupils, excessive sweating—indicating rapid depletion of stamina. He still has two kilometers to reach Ultimate; I need to keep monitoring..." 0

Freya gestured to him, and Freyr nodded in response, forcing himself to ignore the burning pain in his abdomen as he increased his speed once more. 0

"Deliberately pushing him to speed up; clearly, he won't be able to sustain this pace for much longer with less than a kilometer left. But the physiological data isn't sufficient; I need to observe him more closely..." she mumbled while furiously jotting down notes. 0

Meanwhile, on the other side of the track, the man's silhouette was just as she had anticipated—his legs began to falter. Freyr struggled not to focus on the soreness in his legs as his speed began to decrease again. 0

"At fifty-eight kilometers, his physical state is starting to collapse completely. He can hold on for now, but not for much longer. His leg muscles are tightening; he's clearly on the verge of cramping," Freya narrated. 0

Freyr's eyes were glazed over as he desperately gasped for air. However, in that sudden moment, the shackles within him were swiftly released; his condition warmed up, and he surged forward with renewed speed, racing ahead. 0
