Dream Practice Five! 0

In reality, five units of time have passed, yet time flows unusually slowly in the Dream Domain. The Simulated War rages on with relentless intensity, and as a result, the overall combat capabilities of the Crimson Dragon Army have become increasingly synchronized. 0

Time flies... 0

In the early days, the number of troops from the Zerg was not particularly high. With just a command from General Romeo, one of his Commanders could be dispatched to bombard with a battalion, gaining substantial rest time in return. The initial months, even years, were filled with mutual probing maneuvers from both sides. 0

As the war progressed into its mid and later stages, larger and more advanced insects began to emerge in succession. Countless insects flooded the skies, land, and seas, launching relentless assaults on the Base Camp. In comparison, this large-scale Simulated War saw even the leader-level Yaki Clan’s War Insect Emperor and the Shiluk Clan’s Deep Striped Hiluk make their appearances. 0

Human stamina was insufficient for continuous day-and-night assaults. The sheer number of the Zerg led to repeated conflicts measured in tens of thousands globally. The rotating shift system allowed temporarily fatigued warriors of the Crimson Dragon Army to receive brief rests, but these breaks were never long—only about two hours of sleep. 0

At times when the battle became intensely drawn out, soldiers would barely lie down for a moment before having to rise again to rejoin the fray. These short rest periods did not lead to a decline in overall military strength; instead, they often resulted in a collective surge in combat effectiveness after brief respites. 0

The forces confronting the Zerg included a mix of lower-tier units alongside some Advanced Units. 0

Meanwhile, a large contingent of human forces imbued with Abilities gathered at the front of the Crimson Dragon Army’s Base Camp: mechs, battleships, aircraft carriers, and high-level gene enhancers forming a camp for the Suicide Squad. 0

However, facing off against the two major factions of the insect race—the Yaki Clan and the Shiluk Clan—the military forces were concentrated in Earth's southern and western hemispheres. These clans were among the largest within the Zerg, featuring low-tier units that were grotesque in appearance and incapable of upright movement. 0

As the front lines extended, the insects' numerical advantage became increasingly evident. Whenever soldiers spotted swarms of insects rushing from afar for reinforcements, hope for victory faded within the human ranks. Despite their courageous resistance, without curbing the insects' regenerative breeding capabilities, they ultimately stood no chance. 0

The low-tier insects of the Shiluk Clan exhibited tenacious vitality and proliferative cellular abilities. Left unchecked, they would reach maturity without limits. 0

At that point, their life force would be incredibly robust; it might take several soldiers risking their lives to kill a single mature Deep Green Hiluk Bug. 0

Moreover, both clans shared a common trait: their leaders were all seasoned Advanced Units, particularly the leaders—the War Insect Emperor and the leader of the Deep Striped Hiluk. Having survived for over five years, they could still hold their ground against ace mechs like Model 4 of Moon Crystal-4. 0

However, not all hope was lost. On humanity's side, their ability to detect weaknesses had also improved through experience. A team from the Logistics Department, consisting of around a hundred units, moved back and forth during lulls in battle. They operated robotic machines remotely to cut through the hard exoskeletons of insects and extract special potions secreted from their brain matter. 0

The raw form of these Gene Pills resembled strange chunks of flesh commonly referred to by civilians as "brain meat," while many veterans called them potions. The quality varied with color; typically, potions above blue quality granted special abilities. Below blue were white, yellow, and black potions; those above blue possessed stronger effects and were rare crimson-red potions. 0

Just distributing the elixirs could elevate the entire army's combat effectiveness by several tiers. A few elite warriors were able to confront the Zerg head-on, and these individuals carved a bloody path through the ranks of the lower-tier Insectoid soldiers, relying on their formidable Gene Chain abilities. 0

However, as the battles continued into the later stages, the Crimson Dragon Army warriors enhanced their physical capabilities by consuming Gene Pills. Although their numbers had significantly dwindled compared to the initial phase, this small group of around a hundred often achieved remarkable victories when organized into teams. 0

Once the intermediate soldiers and Advanced Units formed their ranks, the Crimson Dragon Army found itself in a tight spot. Human warriors resorted to weapons capable of inflicting serious damage on the insects, including Photon Cannons and Nuclear Bombs. They even deployed military satellites to provide ground support. 0

In the distant Outer Space, military satellites received signals, and twelve six-meter-long metal rods weighing several tons were launched from thousands of meters in the vacuum of space. 0

The plan for God's Zen Staff was activated! The landmarks were accurately locked in. 0

The massive metal rods sliced through the searing air and struck the Earth's crust with tremendous force, unleashing devastation comparable to that of a nuclear warhead, capable of destroying multiple cities. The Crimson Dragon Army spared no effort in utilizing the highest Kinetic Energy Weapons from God's Zen Staff to counter the impending catastrophe. 0

With the deployment of Advanced Units, the overall situation for the Crimson Dragon Army fell into a stalemate. Nevertheless, the flame of technological heritage within human civilization never extinguished. Over hundreds of years of Zerg development, humanity had invented weapons hidden beneath Earth's surface that could obliterate entire planets. 0

Satellite communications were completely severed. While this effectively blocked reinforcements for the Zerg, it also disrupted ground-level cable communications and even remote communication sources like Ansebo waves. The communication systems across all ships in the Crimson Dragon Army and every soldier's helmet were rendered utterly inoperative. 0

Twelve Zerg Base Camps were destroyed by ultimate weapons. The battle insects became like startled birds, losing their base's support and guidance, leading to chaos throughout this conflict. In other words, most of the Crimson Dragon Army warriors paid a heavy price while waiting for an opportunity to counterattack against two major clans simultaneously. 0

As they faced off against the two clan leaders, this Dream Domain provided a long-awaited respite for recovery. The Zerg dared not launch a reckless assault during this time. Meanwhile, human engineers worked tirelessly to restore communication systems. Their next confrontation with enemies would likely be far more challenging than this invasion; without Kinetic Energy Weapons' assistance, a single attack could result in hundreds of casualties among Crimson Dragon Army warriors. 0

In the Dream Domain over fifty years, only a few remained from the Crimson Dragon Army. The highest-ranking officers had perished, and after two years without engineers' intervention, all ship systems—kinetic energy and electrical—had become incapacitated. Ultimately, when another invasion war approached, Base Camp was breached. 0

This was the seventh Simulated War. From commanders to every soldier in the Crimson Dragon Army, everyone invested their utmost effort; yet they still failed to end the Zerg's rule or restore humanity's glorious future. 0

The simulation's dream manipulation held little meaning; at least it should allow humanity to experience some joy in overcoming challenges. Miraculous turns had occurred within dreams before, but soon after, teams were still annihilated without a trace. The Zerg did not have many types of soldiers; they only had clear Commanders and fearless front-line attackers. Unlike humans who had various roles such as logistics and vanguards—many of which were merely names without practical utility—the Insectoid soldiers were straightforward in their function. 0

Ultimately, soldier types were entangled in humanity's self-initiated wars and internal strife. However, for an extreme species like the Zerg that transcended human imagination, having numerous soldier types held little significance. 0

"Everyone take a break before we continue..." 0

Awakening from slumber, before fully grasping the beauty of reality that awaited them, a cold voice suddenly echoed in their ears. 0

Freyr trembled slightly, a chill running down his spine. Wasn't that the voice of Colonel Cousins? Once booming and powerful, it now carried a hint of sorrow and hoarseness. He likely understood the psychological impact that the battle had on him, yet as Commander, he had to lead by example. The orders he received were still to continue with the mission. 0

In other words, the highest command authority of the Dream Space central system had been activated. His Black Card could directly connect to the Dream Space in the eyes of others, but now his authority was equivalent to that of a White Card, which had effectively been revoked. The Simulated War grew increasingly intense, with time limits becoming longer and more arduous. The deployment of Advanced Units was rising, forcing them to resort to the terrifying Kinetic Energy Weapons at maximum scale, which merely delayed the onslaught. 0

The reinforcements and combat power of the Zerg were overwhelmingly strong. In contrast, the Crimson Dragon Army had only about a thousand personnel. During their seventh encounter, they endured seven battles in the Cosmic Bug War, managing to repel two waves of Advanced Units from the Zerg and even killing the Tribal Leaders from the Shiluk and Yaki clans in the process. 0

Though this was not something to celebrate, they gained a rare experience. In real warfare, it was impossible to invest such manpower and resources without suffering devastating losses. Rumors often circulated among humans about clan leaders; even those as esteemed as Star Marshals could not sit on their thrones for more than eight years. 0

With this in mind, when the third wave of Advanced Units attacked, the Crimson Dragon Army was ultimately defeated. Deep within their worldview, they naively believed that insects would only obey commands from their queen. They were unaware that the leadership transition within the Zerg occurred swiftly and that their unity was remarkably well-coordinated. Although they reluctantly acknowledged that humans were Earth's sole linguistic civilization and hierarchical structure, this was a significant factor in humanity's dominance on Earth. 0

After undergoing a transformation, the Zerg launched a new offensive. This time, the Crimson Dragon Army paid a heavy price, nearly facing total annihilation and losing their highest Commander, Abel Romeo, along with two other Commanders. 0

In that battle against the third wave of Advanced Units, two brigades were completely wiped out, leaving only one intact regiment-level unit and two half-regiment units merged into a new brigade formation. Of the three Commanders, two sacrificed themselves; the new Commander was promoted from among three battalion leaders during the subsequent reconstruction. 0

No one knew how much longer this would last. The entire Crimson Dragon Army fell into a deep slumbering world, isolated from the tumultuous struggles outside except for a few replacements among the ranks. 0

After eating something, time was up! 0

The hypnotic waves of Dream Space once again vividly surfaced in his mind as his eyelids grew heavy… 0
