"I am Margaret, and you are right, I am Thousand Needles." The beauty slowly unveiled her black robe, revealing a piece of leather lingerie adorned with military medals. Any man would be deeply captivated by her enchanting figure, as if their souls had been ensnared. 0

She stood directly opposite the Ansebo Pavilion, just a step away from entering the room inside. Wei Xia knew that the facilities in that room were of great importance to the entire Military Department. Even during drills, there was no guarantee they wouldn't be damaged. He absolutely could not allow her to step inside, even at the risk of being stabbed. 0

"I don't intend to let you leave here unscathed." General Wei removed his red leather coat and tossed it to the ground. He clenched his fists, and a series of explosive sounds emanated from his muscles as they tensed and solidified. His physique was so powerful that it could withstand even the hardest steel. 0

"Hmm, I initially thought you were a good man worthy of lifelong trust, but it turns out you're just like those filthy men—unrecognizable once you leave the bed. It's truly nauseating. Is what’s inside here really worth risking your lives for? What dignity do soldiers have to sell their lives for the military? What benefits has the military given you?!" 0

The woman known as Margaret, Thousand Needles, swiftly sewed a line of Steel Needles. With an angry shout, the needles shot out at an almost imperceptible speed. 0

General Wei also drew his Cold Weapon, an ordinary yet extraordinary forged knife with a sharp edge. He held a somewhat exaggerated Military Dagger in one hand, and the sound of metal clashing echoed between them. The Steel Needles were thin and, combined with the unique dark environment, made it difficult for him to defend against them with just his elongated Military Dagger. He quickly found himself at a disadvantage. 0

"Truly troublesome," General Wei muttered under his breath, wiping away sweat from his forehead, feeling quite disheveled. However, he sensed that the Steel Needles were not poisoned; otherwise, despite his ability to resist toxins to some extent, he would have been distracted during battle. That distraction could create a fatal weakness between two evenly matched opponents. Even though he faced a woman who was not physically stronger than him, if she got close enough, she could severely injure him. The human body is made of flesh; no matter how trained it is, it is still far weaker than steel. 0

Margaret coldly observed her opponent ahead. It seemed as though she had an endless supply of Steel Needles. It was strange how she had so many—her hands, clothes, and even her hair were filled with glimmering silver points that were nearly invisible unless closely inspected. 0

Carrying too many Steel Needles would hinder her agility in combat. 0

One person attacked from a distance with Steel Needles, while the other merely defended with a Military Dagger. Yet the sharpness of the needles left numerous wounds on General Wei. Both fighters moved swiftly; he hurled his Military Dagger forcefully into the wall opposite him and then kicked off the ground to leap into the air. 0

The Steel Needles missed him as Margaret pulled another needle from her sleeve, ready to throw. However, as she focused on her opponent ahead, she suddenly sensed a powerful presence rushing toward her. Without hesitation, she threw the Steel Needle forward. 0

The figure charging at her could not stop its momentum; this was not a skill that could be easily controlled by mere humans. In an instant, one of her needles flew toward him. Relying on his reflexes, General Wei raised his arm just in time. The sharp sting of the needle pierced through his arm. 0

With a sudden surge of strength, his muscles bulged like those of an ancient giant capable of moving mountains. His fists crossed in front of him, creating an indistinguishable blur of motion. Margaret immediately sensed danger but was too late to react as a solid fist struck her abdomen while another hand gripped her waist and lifted her off the ground. 0

"You monster! Put me down! How dare you hit a woman!" Margaret shouted angrily in panic. 0

Filled with intense fear, Margaret felt the grip around her waist loosen slightly after her outburst. She realized she could move her waist just enough. Seizing this opportunity, she twisted her body skillfully; her sharp nails transformed into claws that dug deep into his chest muscles. 0

Her grip was incredibly strong; such moves would be lethal against thick-skinned animals like bears or wild boars and would be child's play for most soldiers present here. 0

The power of the punches was no less than that of a man. It was common for a single blow to kill a bull among the Gene-Enhanced Humans in the Special Forces. Although General Wei's physical strength was formidable, he had weaknesses as well, particularly the area around his Heart. In close combat, targeting pressure points could cause severe damage to his body. 0

General Wei let out a muffled groan, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. He struggled to swallow the foul blood mixed with internal debris, but soon warm blood began to flow from his nose, dark and tainted. The severe injury to his Heart had turned his face a shade of gray, and bulging veins throbbed on his forehead like wriggling worms. 0

His muscles swelled and began to twitch violently. Not only that, but those muscles, heavy as iron, contracted back to their normal size. General Wei took a slow, deep breath, twisting his neck unnaturally a couple of times as he returned to his normal form. Sweat dripped down from his forehead as he tightly gripped his chest, which felt heavy. Fortunately, his opponent had somewhat controlled her strength; otherwise, that fragile Heart would have been crushed. 0

"Hahaha, the most poisonous heart belongs to a woman. I told you to stop, and you actually did! How genuine! Now that you've returned to your normal form, I can even surpass you in speed. I'll pin all your bones down with Steel Needles so you can't move!" Margaret forced out a laugh. 0

After releasing her grip, she lunged forward like a tiger. General Wei's eyes locked onto her approaching figure. To him, although her speed was fast, it was not something he couldn't evade. Enduring the excruciating pain, he pulled out the Steel Needle that had embedded itself deep in his arm muscle and tightened the torn muscle ligaments to regain some composure. 0

Pain would hinder performance. Margaret dodged the incoming punch by shifting to the left and then to the right while tightly gripping a Steel Needle in her hand. She slashed at him with it, merely breaking the skin without penetrating deeper flesh. Such attacks were not fatal but would induce intense pain; she had achieved her goal. However, in the next moment, she sensed something was off—a pressure, no, an overwhelming aura that felt like being hunted by a beast! 0

"No way!" Margaret's eyes widened in disbelief as she hesitantly turned her head. 0

Time seemed to freeze as General Wei shouted, opening his mouth wide. Thick black blood oozed from between his teeth, and red veins filled his eyes. With tremendous force, he swung his fist along with his arm directly into Margaret's chest. It felt as if she had been hit head-on by a truck; the impact reverberated throughout her body. Her head spun slightly from lack of oxygen as her chest felt crushed under pressure until she was sent flying several meters away into a reinforced panel that dented slightly upon impact before inertia propelled her down to the ground. 0

"This is impossible! I blocked your pressure points; why is this happening?" 0

Margaret struggled to rise but was struck by piercing pain. 0

She coughed violently, and after a few moments of distress, blood spilled from her mouth—a large pool of foul blood flowed from her lips as tears of pain welled up in her eyes. 0

At this moment, General Wei was also in bad shape, crouched on the ground with one hand on his knee gasping for air. His body appeared weak; he could feel his muscles trembling as they contracted violently. Even such powerful muscles that could withstand immense impacts were unable to resist injury now; enduring such pain could easily incapacitate an ordinary person. 0

The pain wasn't limited to just his chest; he hurriedly checked the surface of his skin for any Targets. The areas where skin had been broken showed slight redness, but tiny capillaries were severely ruptured and oozed dark blood. 0

"You didn't expect this either; there’s always a price to pay. I still can't fully control it; I only have one chance to attack. I have to go all in for you to come close enough to me! I never thought a woman like you would be so ruthless! But it doesn't matter; you won't escape anyway. Once this exercise is over, you'll return to your original unit. Before that happens, we still need to ask you some questions about what’s going on in your head," General Wei said. 0

"I will never betray my comrades! What you're doing is futile!" Margaret was too weak to rise anymore; she supported herself on the ground just enough to speak. It was evident that her injuries had even affected her Thinking mode; her awareness of movement had begun to falter. 0

General Wei raised his eyebrows, his voice slightly deepening as he said, "This is no longer up to you. My people are nearby waiting; they already know the outcome here. You will be taken away by them directly. Even if you refuse, we have other ways to obtain the information we want." 0

Just as he was about to say something else, General Wei noticed that the other person's vital signs were gradually weakening. From the signs, it was clear that the skin's light spots were rapidly deteriorating. This indicated that life energy was dissipating quickly, and cell death was accelerating. If left unattended for much longer, once the body became rigid, all the cells inside would be exhausted and dead. At that point, even a deity would find it difficult to revive them. 0

General Wei gritted his teeth against the pain from his open wounds and stepped into Ansebo's communication room. He quickly activated a virtual keyboard and began typing furiously to connect to a private access point, then sent a private signal through the internal channel. 0

"That should do it!" 0

After finishing his task, he took out a long coat and draped it over himself, at least ensuring that his body would stay warm. At that moment, he felt the cracking of his skin beginning to ease, and scabs were starting to form on the torn wounds. This situation could be considered fortunate; he sighed inwardly and took a deep breath to relax. 0

"Ding!!" 0

"We understand. The team has received orders to provide immediate support. The medical team here has been waiting for some time. We are aware of your situation—the cellular collapse is critical. You need to confirm that the symptoms are real." 0

General Wei cursed internally at how slow the reinforcements were coming but remained silent for a moment before replying, "The symptoms are real—it's an A-Class Gene collapse affecting vital signs. Am I really supposed to be mistaken about this? You idiots need to hurry up; otherwise, she will die." 0

Ansebo remained silent for a long while. Eventually, a commanding message came through: "You do not need to intervene in this situation; what’s in the cold storage is very important. If you still have the strength to do something, then go protect the central intelligence computer's guardian. There are too many who covet Noah's existence. You may not be able to help much by going there, but your companions are there as well. Fight alongside them and hold your ground for four hours; I believe you can do it." 0

"Is Noah being targeted this time due to a hacker intrusion? It’s only during times like this that they think of us. Just give us orders; yet they craft such righteous reasons—it’s truly uncomfortable." 0
