As Wei Xia and Margaret engaged in a fierce battle outside the reception room at Ansebo, Margaret's teammate Sahara was locked in an intense confrontation with Leng Zhen. Sahara slipped into a dimly lit area, making it difficult for Leng Zhen, who wielded dual revolvers as the attacker, to showcase her sharpshooting skills under the cover of darkness. 0

"Hey, is that all you've got?" The modified weapon of Grim Reaper Weasel unleashed an astonishing power, yet it merely impacted Sahara's shield without causing any significant damage. A patch of luminescent coating on the alloy surface was scraped off, and the metal shield only showed a slight dent, appearing largely unscathed. 0

Sahara shouted hoarsely, flipping her wrist against the shield as bullets whizzed past her. Gradually emerging from the shadows, a thunderous sound erupted as her eardrums vibrated intensely. Another bullet with piercing power came hurtling toward her. 0

Leng Zhen was accustomed to sniping enemies hidden in the dark; it was her specialty. Even the slightest detail—a shadow, the tilt and rustle of leaves, or an unusual scent carried by the wind—would trigger her sharp instincts as a marksman to capture these nuances. Once she processed this information, a single bullet could eliminate any obstacle in her path. 0

"Hmph!" A dismissive sound escaped Leng Zhen's lips as she squinted into the darkness. Her previous shot had required immense focus and skill, and it was rare among human elites to evade bullets successfully. 0

Sahara remained hidden in the shadows, moving slowly while suppressing his breath. As a former top assassin, he had erased every detail that humans often overlooked. Now, as a first-rate soldier, his combat prowess reflected an incredibly terrifying capability. Coupled with the shield he wielded—an excellent testament to his training—he was formidable. 0

The alchemical shield was made from materials not of Earth but from outer space meteorites. Combined with an alchemical matrix infused with kryptonite elements, this shield functioned as an anti-explosive barrier capable of withstanding the full force of an anti-material sniper rifle. Although it was slightly lighter than standard anti-explosive shields, its design was not entirely suitable for that purpose. The military's Suicide Squad faced technical challenges in mass production due to material constraints. 0

Sahara held one of two Kryptonite Shields; this exclusive shield could withstand bullets. Even if modified weapons increased destructive power somewhat, the Kryptonite Shield still had ways to block them. 0

While bullets couldn't penetrate the shield, their residual force still caused tingling in Sahara's arm. Sensing danger, Leng Zhen executed a powerful backflip just as a shield strike rushed toward her. The impact shattered tiles on the ground and embedded deeply into the floor. Sahara swung his fist in retaliation but was fortunate that Leng Zhen's instincts proved accurate; she deftly evaded the incoming attack. 0

Just as Leng Zhen regained her footing, the ground trembled violently beneath her. Cracks appeared in the hard earth less than half a meter away. For those on the edge of battle, it was merely about pulling their shields from the ground. A thick wave of murderous intent surged forth as Sahara released his grip on his shield; its terrifying spin shot out at high speed. 0

"This..." 0

Leng Zhen fired several shots, the bullets striking against the Kryptonite Shield. The rapid spinning force repelled the bullets, causing fragments to fly off and spark. At that moment, as the sense of impending threat returned, her instincts tightened to the ultimate moment. This transcendent perception awakened within her, sharp and keen, slicing through the air like a blade, exuding a fierce aura. Suddenly, she rolled to the side just as the shield crashed into the wall behind her, embedding itself several inches deep. 0

"Ah! Now you're in disarray. Do you dare to engage me in close combat? In the dead angle where your gun can't reach, let's see how you plan to deal with me. I can embrace the darkness to conceal my presence. You're impressive; I admire that you can sense my movements. But so what? I can hide my form, erase my killing intent, and strike swiftly. Don't think you can take me down with firearms alone!" 0

Sahara darted left and right, his figure flickering in and out of sight. It seemed he had mastered the advantage of his environment. Leng Zhen's observational skills were clearly insufficient; she was a professional gunfighter, unmatched in both theory and practice within the Crimson Dragon Army. However, firearms were ultimately only lethal when bullets were in the chamber. The moment a bullet was fired from the barrel, unless it could harm the opponent, there was a significant chance of failure. 0

The speed of gunfire was unreachable for an ordinary person; one moment of inattention could lead to being hit. However, among Gene-Enhanced Humans, at a certain genetic level, bullets moved as slowly as snails. From a distance, they appeared sluggish but weaved through the Phantom seamlessly. Sahara chose a position that perfectly aligned with the bullet's blind spot, allowing him to evade effortlessly. 0

A series of gunfire erupted, bullets striking the ground and creating small craters. The speed of the bullets was rapid and relentless; after a few seconds of continuous fire, the barrage finally began to subside. 0

If it were just one bullet that Sahara had to dodge, it would have been easy; however, facing a barrage left him somewhat flustered. Unbeknownst to him, fragments grazed his arm—this was disastrous. Without shield protection or support, he felt particularly vulnerable. He wanted to fight back but found himself suppressed by firepower. Seizing the moment when the gunfire faltered, he flipped forward and leaped off the wall, quickly grabbing hold of the shield. 0

"Though your firepower is formidable, you have no idea how to handle this shield. Let me tell you: there are absolute blind spots in marksmanship. Even if you try your best to cover up your flaws, you'll still leave behind a hasty defeat in battle. Speed is key; although you're quite skilled, I have yet to unleash my full potential—prepare yourself!" Sahara hesitated for a moment before shouting and thrusting his right arm forward with the shield, using his weight to counteract the energy of the bullets flowing out. His right hand formed a fist as large as a bun and struck towards Leng Zhen. 0

Leng Zhen would not stand idly by; in an emergency, she quickly cleared out spent cartridges and loaded fresh rounds into her weapon. This took her exactly two seconds. She then looked up just in time to see Sahara's figure within a meter of her—one more step and she could reach him. As she leaned forward, his figure briefly blurred before his fist came crashing down towards her. 0

She reached out just in time to press against what felt like thin air. 0

It was an illusion—an embodiment of deception that mimicked a real body evading at high speed while remaining stationary in place. 0

"Perhaps you're not wrong," she said calmly. "But my marksmanship has yet to reach its peak; Ultimate was established precisely for breakthroughs. The skills I've honed are about to unleash their true power—the marksmanship I'm about to demonstrate is a new realm I've yet to achieve. Although you possess an impenetrable shield, I believe firearms are ultimately superior—much like their inventor—a perfect match for noble souls. Does your shield even have a soul?" 0

At that moment, Leng Zhen positioned her dual pistols in an unusual stance; no other gunfighter would adopt such a pose. This stance invited significant rejection from conventional techniques because even novice shooters understood that keeping both shoulders level made it easier to hit targets—the standard posture increased accuracy while minimizing violent shaking at the muzzle. 0

"You think this stance will help? My heart wavers not at all! Your flashy pose is merely an empty display; only in capable hands does it reveal its power—yet in yours, it's nothing but scrap metal! You're too slow!" 0

Leng Zhen raised an eyebrow and let out a cold smile. The gun fired in rapid succession, the flashes of light bursting forth with overwhelming force, targeting a single point—the shield's position. Before his eyes, the paint on the shield began to disintegrate, slowly cracking open a thin gap, within which fragments of bullets were lodged deep inside. 0

Sahara let out a muffled groan, unable to evade the attack. The unexpected shift in posture was accompanied by graceful hand movements that switched erratically. His marksmanship became even more formidable with the momentum and energy behind it. Being struck head-on by such force was far from easy; he found himself suppressed once again, unable to take another step forward. In the next moment, the shield was shattered by a barrage of bullets, exposing his machine. He could only see the revolver's muzzle shining brightly, as if the air itself trembled violently. Suddenly, a bullet casing came hurtling toward him, and just as it was about to hit, it disintegrated upon breaking through the surface of his muscles, scattering fine dust from within the bullet pouch. 0

A large cloud of blood mist erupted from his chest. His vision darkened as he clutched his chest, trembling and falling backward. His body instinctively convulsed in a stiffening reaction as physiological awareness kicked in just before death approached; everything before him became increasingly blurred. 0

"Why is this happening?" 0

Leng Zhen stepped closer, lowering his head to touch Sahara's chest with indifference. Then he coldly remarked, "You’re probably wondering why. You won’t die; I’ve only temporarily disrupted your neural consciousness with a neurotoxin. The last round in my chamber was a tranquilizer bullet, crafted from fine anesthetic material designed for capturing live prisoners. You’re still useful to us, so at least I won’t let you die right now. Just sleep peacefully." 0
