Nosty and Duan Shuai exchanged a knowing smile after hearing the news. They were well aware of the situation here. After a moment of hesitation, when Freyr was seen again, he was already eagerly digging into a cup of instant noodles. Once he finished, he calmly wiped his mouth and said, "This is basically the situation here. The other military bases are also experiencing power outages, so they can't relay important information in time. Aside from that, once they received intelligence, they vanished without a trace, even clashing with our people to return as quickly as possible. This explains why we are seeing this phenomenon." 0

Despite this, Nosty felt a surge of excitement upon hearing his words, while Duan Shuai seemed unusually calm, silently savoring the broth of his cup noodles. 0

The likelihood of this hypothesis being correct was high, and Duan Shuai's silence only reinforced the validity of this idea in the eyes of others present. However, Freyr had no further comments; almost immediately, he stood up and shouted for an emergency assembly outside. 0

Duan Shuai paused for a moment. "It's not urgent right now. We can wait until midnight to act. Striking when the enemy is weary would be more effective. Although most can resist fatigue, their reactions will be sluggish in such a state." 0

"I'm not acting now; I'm ensuring everyone is well-fed and packed so that we can move at midnight without being caught off guard. Otherwise, our actions would be meaningless," Freyr replied, glancing into Duan Shuai's eyes with a smile. 0

"Alright then, everyone listen to the squad leader and go prepare," he added. His earlier remarks were not just directed at Duan Shuai but also meant for the soldiers gathering around them. Before long, as Freyr finished speaking, some perceptive individuals began to respond immediately, issuing commands to those nearby. In no time, orders spread like wildfire without needing to be issued one by one. 0

Seeing everyone around him spring into action, Freyr gladly returned inside to rest properly. Although the time since the trial began wasn't long, too much had happened—more than he had anticipated. However, it was just a little bit more than expected. After re-evaluating the situation, Freyr quickly devised a more detailed plan; this time there could be no mistakes. 0

At that moment, Froth suddenly slid down from the roof in haste, carrying a large elongated object on his shoulder. Upon closer inspection, it became clear that it was alive and wriggling—indeed resembling a human form. 0

Froth untied the burlap sack wrapped around it and released the figure inside: a young man of average appearance with a cloth stuffed in his mouth. Having been captured in enemy territory, he had lost all his previous bravado. When Froth shot him a glare, he anxiously furrowed his brow and said, "Crimson Dragon Army? Why am I here? What do you want?" 0

"Enough with the pretense! Let me tell you—I come from a hunting background and treat my prey without mercy. There are ways to interrogate prisoners; don't blame me for not warning you. If your answers differ from what I’ve been told on the way here, I'll pull out all your teeth and toss them into the bushes to lure wolves." 0

Only after shaking his head did the young man take a deep breath and finally divulge everything he knew. Yet instead of shock among those present, an icy demeanor settled over them as they scrutinized him for some time, their minds racing with doubts about whether this was truly an enemy's ploy. 0

"What proof do you have that what you're saying is true? It must be false! Take him out and feed him to the wolves!" 0

Freyr let out a cold laugh and waved his hand. Froth rubbed his hands together, drew a knife from his waist, and was about to stab the young man's artery when the young man suddenly jolted awake, struggling to stand. "I'm not lying! Please don't kill me!" 0

Freyr raised an eyebrow, his voice icy as he snapped, "Prove it?!" 0

"I can't prove everything, but I've told you all I know. I was ordered by my superior to patrol tonight. Maybe there were too many tasks that I didn't have time to relay to you. I didn't have time to investigate further—please, just don't kill me." 0

"Kill you? Don't be ridiculous. Murdering a soldier is a serious crime that could cost you your head. Just cooperate and don't leave this place; you'll only be locked in a dark room." 0

Froth excitedly raised the weapon in his hand and continued to tighten the rope around the young man's neck as he dragged him outside. 0

Meanwhile, two others were resting nearby. During this brief respite, none of them managed to sleep. It was the eve of the Cosmic Bug War, and there was no time for rest. A little downtime would only make their bodies stiff and their minds foggy; it was better to keep their eyes open and stare blankly at the ceiling. 0

No one spoke; silence was the best form of rest. The three waited for quite some time until midnight arrived. 0

The Logistics Department had not authorized solo actions, calculating that others in the barracks would not return to cause trouble at this hour. Thus, a few remained behind to avoid awkward situations if no one showed up later. The soldiers quickly donned their gear and weapons, which were of poor quality due to rationing; the Logistics Team had no need for high-grade equipment that could fall into enemy hands. 0

The higher-ups had not considered sending new recruits—who had been in the barracks for less than a few months—into battle. After various tactical drills and team formations were completed, they would eventually possess the strength to face external threats. For now, distributing equipment and acting as errand runners for the Logistics Department was perfectly suitable. 0

The veterans of the Logistics Department had already been knocked out and tied up in a dark room by Freyr's men to prevent any interference during operations. Once the battle concluded, whatever those individuals said afterward would be disregarded; at most, they might receive a reprimand. Freyr believed that reprimands did not strip away one's rights as citizens; he wasn't afraid of how many times it happened. 0

The transportation vehicles of the Logistics Team were temporarily put to use. Freyr chose a faster motorcycle for himself and Froth while Duan Shuai rode another motorcycle beside them, leading the way. Once most of the personnel had exited the barracks, due to operational planning requirements, that motorcycle would soon be hidden in a pile of grass as they sped forward. 0
